Chapter 232: The Door to the Past - Soaring Above the Sky_2

Of course, two people did not join the light-hearted banter.

The Mage Lord Philarx remained tightly draped in his black robe, his expression not visible. Only his pale and thin hands were visible outside his robe, each holding a notebook, with two pens hovering over it at breakneck speed. To a mage, time is everything. Rather than wasting it on talking and laughing or pointless worries about actions, it’s better spent calculating another formula.

Flare was also writing, but unlike Philarx, she sat with her legs together in an elegant posture, the tip of her pen fluently flowing across the paper, making a pleasant rustling sound. The artistic Elvish script was cheerfully jumping across the paper. On Flare’s noble and charming face, an enraptured expression would appear from time to time in line with the writing. After a while, Flare finally put down her pen, took a light breath, a faint smile on her face, as though a wandering queen was looking at her flourishing and contented subjects, filled with satisfaction and pride, along with some deep emotion.

Noticing the unusual silence, Flare lifted her head in surprise to find most eyes focused on her. She touched her lips gently to form a small smile, asking, "Why is everyone looking at me?"

"Another new song in the making?" Kyle leaned over and asked. "You started writing as soon as you picked up your pen. Did inspiration strike you? Are you satisfied with what you’ve written?"

"I guess you could say that." Feeling Kyle’s gaze, Flare flushed slightly, lightly strumming her bowstrings. "Inspiration is like that, it comes as it pleases, uncontrollable. Yes, just like human emotions."

Nellie, her back to Flare, lightly nudged Kyle’s shoulder with her own, exchanging a teasing glance. Kyle responded with a wry smile, causing Nellie to cover her mouth to suppress her laughter, her shoulders subtly shaking.

A sudden shadow swooped overhead, hiding the moon from the flying scorpion-tailed lion. Even the lion, tens of meters in size, was entirely covered, making one suspect the enormity of the shadow’s creator.

"Lady Mina is back." Kyle finally escaped the awkwardness, looking at the sky and announcing.

The shadow overhead quickly shrank and vanished. The combat Drake, Mina, clad in a deep grey cloak, descended gracefully from the sky and lightly landed on Dillie’s back, "We still have an hour to go at this speed. It’s not too late to change our plans."

"Hehe," Kyle just laughed without making a commitment, counter-asking, "Lady Mina, how are the situations up front?"

"Not very good, over five thousand skeleton griffins are circling above the Wound of the Earth, among them, over five hundred of Legendary Rank, including a Demigod Rank griffin." Mina gave the bad news in her usual calm manner.

"A Demigod Rank Undead has appeared already?" Kyle’s face paled, his voice deepened, "It’s much earlier than the estimated time, this is big trouble, the pressure on the battlefield outside will increase significantly."

"Oh ho, the enemy is catching up." Maya and Tiya flapped their wings and also returned to Dillie’s back, "They followed Sister Mina, we will meet them in about eight minutes."

"They move quite fast." Kyle squinted, his voice turning cold: "Who wants the first go to warm up?"

"I’ll do it." Flare carefully put away her music score notes and rose up as if an invisible force was lifting her. Without bending or squatting, and with no supportive motion, she elegantly stood up from her seated position. While strumming her bowstring, she announced, "I am a long-range archer, it’s more suited for me to go first."

"Flare, sister, you rest." The Winged people’s Maya chirped, "Let the little Kera go, look at his color, even the moss seems too lazy to grow."

"Are you stupid?" Christo roared, "The skin of the goblins is green to begin with, okay? What’s this about moss? Besides, moss is grass green, our skin is light green, totally different, fool."

"Is that right?" The Winged people’s Tiya bit her finger, giving it some thought and then looked sympathetically at Kera, "Poor little Kera, he is so lazy that even the moss on him has faded to light green. You really should exercise a bit."

"You two, cheeky brats." Christo stomped his foot in annoyance, "Alright, I’ll go."

"\(^o^)/ YES!" Both Winged girls clapped hands, simultaneously grinning at Flare: "Sister Flare, let’s watch the show together. Sister Nellie, come too, I love to watch little Kera’s firework show."

"I’m not watching any show." Nellie came over and patted the heads of the two Winged girls: "I need to prepare for battle, just in case that Demigod griffin has followed too, I’ll take care of it."

"You’re itching for a fight too, aren’t you?" Kyle came up from behind and caught Nellie’s hand: "Or you just want the first battle?"

"Of course, a knight will never flee a battle." Nellie straightened her back, the gentle look on her face gradually turning tough. With unyielding heroism in her eyes, her otherwise ordinary face was filled with calm resolution.

"Then let glory and victory be forever at your side." Kyle placed one hand on his chest, slightly bowing and smiling, "My lord lady knight."

"At our six o’clock, you idiot Curlee." Just as Christo was waiting with his Crystal Energy gun without seeing a trace of the enemy, Maya pointed to the distance and crisply said.
