"Huff, huff, Sister Catherine, we finally catch up." Following guide, Elrad, Dora stumbled into the valley, first seeing Catherine casually chatting with five strangers. "You walked too fast; we almost couldn’t catch up. Huff, Huff, these people must be the targets of our rescue, have you all taken care of the poison gland foxes?"

"We were just spectators." Catherine responded, "We didn’t have the chance to do anything. A large pack of wolves got here before us, killed all the foxes and left."

"Huh? Wolves? Killed all the foxes? And then just left?" Dora gave a dry laugh: "Are you telling bedtime stories, Sister?"

"That’s exactly what happened." Catherine explained, shrugging to Pannis: "Look, I did say they wouldn’t believe it, but luckily everyone here witnessed it, so they can verify my story."

"We indeed heard wolves howling the whole way, and were on edge for quite a while," Dora recalled thoughtfully, "But wolves killing all the foxes and ignoring humans? That’s really something."

"Maybe they are picky eaters." Pannis replied playfully, gathering everyone’s attention."Come on, Miss Longlegs Per, let me introduce you. This is Guli-Elmer, the captain of the Blue Coral Adventure Team from Kassa."

"Oh, it’s you guys." Dressed down by Dora with a kick aside, Pannis was left standing next to Guli-Elmer as she introduced herself: "I’ve heard of you. When our mercenary corps set sail for Oris Island at the beginning of last year, it was your team that connected us with the Sea Race navigators."

"You guys?" Guli-Elmer recalled for a moment, then had a sudden realization:"Oh right, it’s Silver Lily Mercenary Corps, one of the top ten mercenary corps. Your leader is Emma. Um... so you must be... the captain of the second team, Rose Knight, right?"

"I’m Dora." Dora gently shook hands with Guli-Elmer: "Glad to see you all safe and sound. Will you continue inward?"

"No, we were actually planning to leave the forest." Guli-Elmer shook his head: "We initially entered the forest three months ago, and expected to be out of there twenty days ago, but there were minor setbacks that have delayed us all the way to the start of the season of magical beast invasion. Before then, we didn’t encounter too many dangers and were quite safe. But right when we were about to leave the forest, we lost a teammate."

"What exactly happened then?" Catherine pulled Guli-Elmer, asking: "Poison gland foxes usually won’t attack a group of humans professionals larger than three, especially since you’re a Gold Rank, it seems even less likely that the foxes would attack your team, right?"

"Hey, let’s set up camp first, it’s time for dinner." Pannis yelled from deep in the valley: "Let’s talk while we eat, we need to continue our journey tonight."

Setting up a temporary camp in the valley is a pretty straightforward thing. There is no need to clean up leaves, set up any facilities, not even a need for tents since it’s just a stopover. You only need to clean up an area, light a fire pit in the center, then sprinkle some insect repellent around the area. Although the members of Nellie’s Adventure Team bought a goblin insect repeller before they headed out, due to the crystal energy consumption of the repeller, Catherine feels that every time they can save not using the repeller, they can conserve its energy, insisting on using the repeller only when necessary. Thus everyone still uses the original potion-based insect repellent. However, the potion method usually doesn’t work well, and it can’t repel flying insects, so when officially camping out, it’s usually combined with the Insect Repellent Array.

The valley is small but the environment is great. There are no fallen leaves and there’s a small creek flowing out from a crevice in the rocks. The creek water, having passed Vivian’s test, is completely drinkable, and the shallow creek won’t attract a large number of animals to drink there. It is indeed the best place to camp out.

To repay the kindness of the ten-member rescue team, the members of Blue Coral actively hunted a few herbivorous magical beasts nearby. After preparation, a simple dinner was served with grilled meat. The camp is designed interestingly with three separate fire pits, each team is seated around its own fire. Although the fires are not near to each other, it doesn’t affect normal conversation.

The weather in late autumn is quite cool, especially when sitting still. However, the warmth of the flames dissipates the chill of the evening and gives the dark environment a touch of vitality.

"It’s almost dark." Lina looked up at the sky above the valley. There weren’t many trees in the valley, so she could clearly see the darkening twilight looming. As for the dense forest outside the valley, due to the canopy of trees, it was already as dark as night. Curious Lina couldn’t help but asked, "Pannis, you still haven’t told me why we have to travel at night."

"Shush." Pannis chuckled mysteriously, continuing to busy himself with the prey on the fire: "I’ll tell you later."
