World After Worlds -
Chapter 369 - 369: § MESSAGE §
Despite that, Lyndon preferred spending his time in solitary, and was a harsh kid---there was no filter of his painful words---he was very caring and loving when they got to know him. He would do anything to protect his people.
Since childhood he was the kid of few words, he didn't have friends because he despised mingling with people. Although they cherished him and loved him, and pampered him with all their might, Lyndon was still Lyndon. Then, he had his first friend Kraig, his total opposite, his parents were so glad when he finally had a friend. However, with such a misunderstanding the friendship ended and Lyndon didn't socialize with anyone again.
Then, his mother heard that Tiana became his friend but he never told them about Tiana. It was the first time they heard that he's been in a relationship ever since Kraig happened.
Tiana was well-known in the town because she proclaimed that she was an azkin but they knew she wasn't. Out of all, they could discern if someone is an azkin. That knowledge was passed on generationally in their family's lineage. Nevertheless, they didn't speak up to clarify the allegations because Lyndon was happy at his newfound friendship.
That was why his mother was delighted to hear that they finally got together, his son had someone he adores! She could die in peace, believing that Lyndon would be treated with love and care in the future.
It was true that Lyndon barely told them stories about his life. But what again? She just heard from a friend about the news that he and Tiana were in a relationship and he would suddenly rebut that they broke up? Already?
"What? You are not even saying anything to your mother. " His father exclaimed.
"You really broke up? Weren't you friends for a long time? What happened? What is the problem? Maybe it could be fixed." His mother said worriedly. "I want to meet her too, you never introduced her to us."
Lyndon frowned, he was not even surprised that that gossip reached their ears. Even though he broke up with Tiana just this afternoon, he was not happy hearing the outdated news.
"It cannot be fixed. Tiana and I are over. She's not the woman I will marry, why should I introduce her to you?" He snarled and directed his eyes on the food, a smile appeared on his lips.
'The girl he would marry, huh?' Why did that woman flash his mind? … Yanarym. That's right, he had to call her later to tell her that they can't meet tonight.
"Then, will you introduce us to your fiancée? When would that be? You are too picky with friends, I bet you are much pickier with your wife."
"I will introduce you to my girlfriend this weekend." He replied nonchalantly and took his communicator in his pocket. There was no message from Yanarym yet. She may be waiting for him at his house right now.
"Girlfriend?" His mother's eyes widened in bewilderment.
"I'm confused, son, didn't you just break up with Tiana?" His father followed up, raising one of his brows.
Lyndon glanced at them with a grin, "Yes, I have one new."
"Wow, that's my boy!" His father laughed loudly but his mother frowned.
"Is that something to be proud of?" With that repudiation, his father settled down and only winked at his son. Eva glared at Castor and pinched his back before smiling at Lyndon. "Ahem! So, how's she? Your new girl. Who is she, anyway?"
She can't even argue with Lyndon, she just knew that his son won't be playing around when it comes to relationships. And he even mentioned that he won't introduce anyone that he won't be marrying… then the girlfriend he would introduce to them this weekend is a potential wife?
"What do you like about your new girl, son? You seemed so interested in her."
Lyndon sneered, "She's crazy for me, and I like that about her." Lyndon smiled widely- biting his lips to hide his happiness.
"Your mother's crazy for me too, back when we were students at---"
"What? Who's crazy for you?" Eva whacked Castor's shoulder and his father immediately embraced her.
Lyndon was usually ashamed when he witnessed this lovey-dovey scenario before his eyes as a kid. Yet, he couldn't help but be happy for his parents, thinking that his future with Yanarym would be the same as theirs.
"Honey, you can't deny that---that was the fact." His father said gaily.
"Fact?" Eva's lips twitched and peered at Castor. 'You are sure you want to start with that?' was what her face screamed at him.
Castor and Eva had such a wonderful tale themselves. It was straight out of a novel type of love story. Eva was a woman of integrity, she was the student council president of the academy. Because of her impermeable defense when it comes to her suitors and admirers, she was often targeted by silly games like betting if someone could enter her heart.
Castor was one of those players. For a starter, he loathed Eva as a person. Because Eva was his father's favorite and they were often compared to one another. Because he was the one who would be inheriting the position as the Town Hall's chief, the expectation from his parents was becoming a burden as he grew old.
Eva was best at executing her duty, she was the perfect kind of girl. She would always receive compliments and rewards for her hard work. Opposite from what was happening to Castor, he was a slacker, a delinquent. He was deemed to be doomed.
When he participated in the bet and pursued Eva. He discovered that she was in love with him in secrecy. He only took her heart as a joke, the game was already won-done. But he insisted that they should have a higher stake for a greater play.
Crazy in love, that was Eva for him. She would do everything he asked her. Even stupid things, Eva's life went astray after being with him. She didn't care, but he was starting to care as he unknowingly began to develop feelings for her. When he was realized how dumb he was for playing her, it was too late for regretting it.
"The 'fact' is that you begged me to marry you." Eva laughed, "Can't you remember? You were bawling your eyes out when I said that we would never get back together."
Castor's eyes squinted, he was intending to defend his dignity as the man of the family but Eva laughed at his silence and raised an eyebrow. A man is a man but the mother is a woman.
Lyndon raised both of his eyebrows with a smile in astonishment, it was his first time hearing about his parents' love story.
"Of course, it was true that I was 'crazy' for you. But, you were the one who went 'crazier' after I left you."
"Honey," his father pouted, "Don't embarrass me in front of our son."
"No, he has the right to know our past, so that he won't repeat your mistake." She snickered and turned to Lyndon. "That's why you shouldn't play with your woman's heart, sometimes they hold grudges. I almost didn't marry your father, I had a lot of suitors after he broke up with me. If he didn't threaten me with his life---"
"Hon! Honey, don't be like this, let's eat the food, it's getting cold… " his father fed her mother the food. Lyndon only laughed at them, his mother smirked at his father.
"What? I was telling the 'fact' to our son."
"Let's just eat, please?" Castor pleaded to save his face. His past self was a very arrogant but ignorant young man. Lyndon could have that similar confident attitude and that worries Eva. It was hard to love a man like him after all.
"Alright, be thankful I am such a generous person." Castor circled his arm to Eva's waist and drew her closer before kissing her temple.
"Thank you for loving me, hon." Lyndon watching them, he suddenly felt lonely. Yanarym would be so clingy to him if she was here.
"Father, Mother, I have to call someone before I proceed to my work."
"Go on, son." Lyndon left the office and stood in the hallway where there was no servant going around. He took his communicator and there was a message left by Yanarym.
Yanarym: "Lyndon, I couldn't come to your house tonight, Mother wanted to eat dinner with me. But if you want I can sneak in at midnight to go there… iluvu!"
Lyndon chuckled reading the 'I love you' being misspelled, she always invented words that were used as their codes, and he was always flattered whenever she did that. He pressed the call button but she was unreachable, he frowned and just left her a message too.
Lyndon: "You don't have to, I'm staying at the town hall tonight, I'm helping father with his work. Sleep well."
