World After Worlds -
Chapter 346 - 346: § BREAK HIS HEART §
According to the legend, Azkin was in love with a human, that man was in love with somebody else. That somebody else was an evil woman who told the man that they could devour Azkin for divine power. Assuming the possibilities, the original was that woman and Tiana was Azkin…
But it did not make sense. Why would Yanarym feel this hostility came from a thousand-year-old person? The original had no recollection of her childhood. But could she remember the hostility toward an enemy who she had never encountered in that past life?
Should I start connecting the legend to the present? But in the novel, the legend was only mentioned once.
However, there were too many loopholes. In the story, Azkin's reincarnation never appeared. If I did not expose Tiana's deception back then. Lyndon would never mention Azkin's reincarnation. Coincident or not, Azkin's soul belonged to their generation, meaning one of them was Azkin. Although Yanarym was not confident to say that Tiana was Azkin. It was most likely. Tiana was the female lead after all.
The original was the villain, so Yanarym would be that woman who ate Azkin. Then, the man who was with the woman… Who was it? That would be probably the male lead. But there was no specific male lead in this story. Recently, Tiana was head over heels with Kraig but at the current progress, she was developing a much deeper attachment to Lyndon.
Matteo placed her on the picnic blanket. There was no lake this time, just a pure field of flowers. Although there were no trees, the sun was not shining so brightly, the surroundings were very peaceful.
She stared at Matteo and met his eyes when he glanced at her. They did not speak and the silence between them was bearable. Unknowingly, he leaned to her face and planted his lips on her eyes. She had to close them.
The wind made her hair fly in the air and his huge hand resided on her head, pushing her gently to lean over on him. "Teo, aren't you powerful?" She said while Matteo remained resting his lips on her eye. He really liked kissing her eyes.
Anyways, she pondered about it. Before she could not ask Matteo but now, it might be possible.
"What do you want?" He slowly backed away with a slightly warm smile plastered on his face. The distance between their faces was too little, he was still holding her head. He was treating and handling her with care but she felt trapped.
She claimed that Matteo was no longer a danger to her even if he could think of murdering her there and then.
Guide-sama: "... he wants to kill you right now." Yanarym did not change her expression upon hearing Guise-sama's voice. Honestly speaking, she was no longer afraid of Matteo's mind processing.
If they were living in the modern world where she came from, and if he was a human, not a god, Yanarym without a doubt will call him a lunatic. Well, he's crazy… but he is not. She might be the one who can be labeled as the crazy one because she could say… Matteo was thinking justifiable.
She wanted to say she could not understand why he wanted to kill her but she cannot. Because she knew why he was so tormented by the idea of killing her. When he fell so in love with her, he wanted to kill her. That way, he could keep her, he could bring her to heaven and have her all by himself. Killing her human body did not mean she would be really dead, for him it was the way to free her from misery. The more affection he has for her, the stronger his intention of ending her human life.
Guide-sama: "..."
See, complicated.
Matteo brushed her hair through his fingers, "I'll give you whatever you want." He uttered.
Yanarym nodded and waited for a moment. Regarding that, she was being cautious to ask him before because she did not want to die, but because she had solidified her leash on him. She was confident to make a bolder request.
"I can't remember anything when I was a child." She muttered and suddenly, Matteo stiffened. His eyes darkened and the little smile he had vanished. Regardless, she continued, "I want to remember, Teo. Is that possible?" He pulled away from the hand that was holding her, his eyes turned somewhere and she could feel how much tension was added to the air in a matter of seconds.
She had expected this.
Matteo did not like the past. Particularly, he did not want to bring up her past.
"Not possible." His deep voice was truculent.
Yanarym grinned, she thought she would be vexed with him disagreeing but she found it exhilarating that there was a challenge. Everything was spoon-fed to her ever since she had begun transmigrating. Although she was working to complete the tasks that were given by the originals, everything felt really simple. Like the path was already paved and all she could do was walk on it and enjoy it.
She preferred it easy. But she is a human being, isn't she? Sometimes… the perfectly fixed things, she wanted to be destroyed. Humans have always had a way to make things out of order.
"Alright." She replied to Matteo.
There were specific tasks given to her. One, don't fall in love with Kraig and Lyndon. Two, cuss on Lyndon's face once. Three, expose Tiana's lie. Four, save Mother Witch's life. Five, be recognized as a potion expert. Lastly, leave the town.
The first task was completed without any complications. She would never fall in love with them. The second was done and she would do it whenever she was given a chance. The third was done and fourth, she would do her best to make Lena not be inflicted in this predicament. Fifth was in progress and the last task was not difficult to accomplish.
Maybe because from the very beginning she found everything so easy she decided to add some spices like bringing the revenge forward in the pretense it was for the original. Yet, the truth was Yanarym just wanted it to be more than the tasks. She knew that it would be easy to fulfill, she wanted something fun. In addition, she was very annoyed at Tiana and the male leads.
Having revenge to give justice sounded noble but the truth was…
Ruining lives in exchange for her fun.
She was a villain.
She smiled at the thought. She liked being a villain.
She had to add another task for her to complete. The seventh would be destroying the hearts of the three main characters of this world. The eight… she turned to look at Matteo who was in deep with his thoughts. He really disliked whenever she brought up the past, huh. Well, the eight would be knowing what had happened in the past. She would complete this puzzle.
Although it was unnecessary, Yanarym would nevertheless still waste her time. Since Matteo wanted to be part of it badly, she would not stop him. Yanarym's eyes deepened when a realization struck her as she focused her eyes on the sky. The white clouds were moving slowly and the blue vastness was calming.
The introduction of the world could relate to Tiana pretending to be one of the cursed people but maybe the deeper truth was 'Azkin's Curse' meant something more. Maybe it was not about the curse she bestowed on the people of the curse given by her heavenly family. Maybe it was about Azkin's curse… What was Azkin's curse?
Guide-sama: "What are you thinking, I could not follow?"
Azkin's curse… the daughter of the god's curse. Is she cursed? Was Azkin cursed?
Guide-sama: "Who would curse a god's daughter?"
…You have a point, I'm just overthinking?
Either way, assuming she was right regarding Tiana's involvement. If the story was related to the legend. That meant Matteo was the older brother who cherished his younger sister so much.
Matteo was in love with the original…
Oh… haha.
Yanarym hid the sneer.
Matteo's existence began to make sense. Did he know? That Tiana was his sister? So, when the original was killed, he did nothing? Did he let the original die? That made more sense, why even though Matteo adored the original, he was not there to save her.
Was he disappointed? That the first human he loved was someone who hurt the sister he treasured?
This was all hypothetical however, it gave Yanarym the chills. Everyone killed the original. Although it was not stated or confirmed that Matteo approved Tiana and the original died like that. Yanarym had the sudden urge to be vigilant with Matteo. If it was the truth then, Matteo's affection could not be trusted as well.
With that in mind, Yanarym made another resolution, she had to finish everything before Matteo's affection fades. Before his love for her became hatred. Yanarym turned her head to stare at Matteo… I think I want to break his heart too.
