Work Prophet

Chapter 659: Chapter 32: Is there more?

Miss Rabbit was originally hesitating, but her spirit perked up at the words she heard.

She knew that Li Yu, as the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect, always considered missionary work a top priority. If she could help Li Yu take over the Immanuel Family, perhaps the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect wouldn’t need to contemplate so long.

"What do you want me to do to support Miss Angela? Like I said before, I’m not a part of the Immanuel family. It’s difficult for me to intervene in your family affairs," she said.

"You can assist Miss Angela under the name of the organization behind you," the housekeeper proposed.

The lady was somewhat puzzled, "The organization behind me, what organization do I have?"

"I heard that before going to the Royal Capital, you used to invite young people over to your castle for tea parties, or as you prefer to call them, salons," she explained.

"Ha, but that’s not really an organization, just casual gatherings among friends," Miss Rabbit clarified. "It’s very laid-back; we usually just enjoy Divine Country’s fine dishes and watch moving images and such."

"Yet, besides its members, no one else knows about this, right?" the housekeeper paused.

"Moreover, I suggest you formalize this group. Set entry criteria, common goals, and vows to abide by... I believe it will certainly repay you in the future."

"But would people still want to join if that were the case?" the lady frowned.

"You underestimate your current influence. You’re the Dragon Slayer Hero, the champion of the martial competition, and you led a mere five thousand troops to defeat tens of thousands in the Dwarf Army in the Dragon Ridge Mountains. Many would want to ally with you," the housekeeper continued.

"What about Hels? Quintus the High Priest told me that Hels is already wary of me and advised me to keep a low profile. If I turned my salon into an organization, Hels would definitely despise me even more," she said.

The housekeeper, who seemed to have anticipated this question, replied without hesitation, "Quintus the High Priest hopes that the lords of the west can maintain peace, so more energy can be directed to combating the Blood Moon Association. It’s not surprising he would advise you thus.

"However, no offense, but with your current reputation, Hels would dislike you whether you do anything or not."

The lady admitted she was tempted, and this time, unusually, it wasn’t because of money, although the fifty thousand gold lions indeed sparked some interest.

However, what mattered most was the promise made by the housekeeper beforehand.

Unlike the Batoris Family, the Immanuel family is the second largest noble family in the western regions, possessing Black Stone City and Golden Tail Castle with over one hundred thousand residents.

If she could take over the Immanuel family, it meant that the Double Rest Sect could gain an additional hundred thousand followers.

Miss Rabbit pondered for a moment and said, "I can agree, but I need you to show some sincerity first."

"Do you want an advance payment?"

The lady shook her head, "I want Angela to first convert to Saturday."

The housekeeper showed a look of astonishment for the first time that evening, as based on her understanding of the lady of the Arias family, she thought she would make further demands about money.

Unexpectedly, the latter had indeed changed, but in fairness, this request wasn’t excessive.

Therefore, the housekeeper ultimately agreed. After that, she noticed Miss Rabbit’s gaze towards her had changed.

"Now I am starting to believe you are in a romantic relationship. Are you really able to decide on changing her faith for her?"

"We are in a precarious situation, with not many options, and personally, I think the Double Rest Sect isn’t too bad.

"Saturday is a powerful god, and its walker in the mortal world, Prophet Merlin, also possesses incredible Divine Power. Besides, his reputation is very good; perhaps it’s time to change past traditions," the housekeeper said.

"Alright, then bring Angela here," the lady responded promptly. "I will ask Prophet Merlin to conduct the initiation ceremony for her and also let her join my, my, um, movie club."

Miss Rabbit wasn’t sure what to name her new organization, until a moment of inspiration struck when she thought of the projector Li Yu had sponsored for her salon.

It was the most popular item in the salon. No matter what the lady used it to show, everyone enjoyed watching it immensely, so she simply named her organization the Movie Club.

The housekeeper was reliable, and she brought Angela over the next day.

Though appearing rather reluctant, Angela still politely greeted Ireya upon seeing her.

However, her other hand was still clutching Galin’s coat corner, never letting go.

Miss Rabbit had some minor issues with Angela in the past, but it was all quiet, and with so much time having passed, she was too lazy to bring it up again.

Noticing Angela’s nervousness, she even went out of her way to pour her a Coke, though only a couple of sips’ worth.

This beverage was considered an utterly non-renewable resource on the Bratis Continent, and Miss Rabbit herself seldom indulged in it.

The mini-sized Coke had been open for three days and was already flat; if not for Li Yu’s warning that she should drink it quickly after opening to avoid diarrhea, the lady might have stretched it out for another two months.

As Angela stared at the brown, unclear liquid in the cup, her panic grew, fearing that the detestable rabbit across her might seek revenge by poisoning her drink. She turned her pleading eyes to the housekeeper.

"Maybe I should drink it," Galin said.

The lady glanced at the housekeeper, "If you can’t even have this much trust, you might as well take her away."

Galin remained silent, and seeing this, Angela gritted her teeth and gulped down the small cup of Coke in one go.

Although the housekeeper felt Ireya wouldn’t set any traps, she was clearly concerned about Angela’s health and immediately asked, "How is it?"

Angela licked her lips, "Sweet."

Then, still appearing unsatisfied, she asked the lady, "Is there more? I drank it too quickly just now and didn’t savor the taste."

"Don’t expect such good fortune," Miss Rabbit replied irritably. "I shouldn’t have wasted such good stuff on you."

Angela felt awkward, feeling like a country bumpkin who had just come to the city, even though she was from a more prestigious background.

No matter how much money the Arias family was making now, they still couldn’t match the Immanuel family, a traditional noble lineage that had been carefully managed for thousands of years.

When Angela first met her, she acted all high and mighty, pointing out this and that.

Yet in just over a year, their circumstances had completely reversed.
