Chapter 477: Chapter 95 It’s Time to Uphold the Spirit of the Knight

Watching Hercules on the ground, rolling and howling in pain from the electrocution, both Young Wolf and Freckles’ expressions changed.

They had been ready to enjoy the show, never expecting that their own side would be the one to suffer.

Though not the strongest among them, Hercules was renowned in the Second Knight Corps for his brute strength.

Freckles admitted he was no match for Hercules, and although Young Wolf was stronger, he wasn’t guaranteed to win every time.

Each time the two clashed, Young Wolf had to fight with full concentration.

Yet, they hadn’t expected that the woman across from them would take down Hercules in just a few breaths.

And that wasn’t all; the means she used were beyond Young Wolf and Freckles’ comprehension.

The mist from before was strange enough, but the subsequent Thunder Power was even more terrifying.

That was Thunder, a power that only the Gods could wield!

However, with the young lady’s shout, she had indeed borrowed this fearsome natural force from the great entity known as Saturday.

Although the Thunder in her hands was not as vast nor as powerful as that of the heavens, her opponents were merely mortals, not other Gods or monsters.

Hercules, with his massive frame, was left screaming miserably, his body convulsing non-stop, and he even begged for mercy in the end.

Miss Rabbit, however, didn’t completely wipe them out. After that bout of exertion, she had vented her anger sufficiently, and she felt refreshed as Hercules trembled away.

Moreover, as Torres had said, these people had complicated backgrounds; the Lady couldn’t truly deal a fatal blow, a beating was the limit.

After Ireya ceased her attack, Hercules continued to wail on the ground, "My eyes! Ah, my eyes are blind, I can’t see anything!!!"

"What are you standing around for, go fetch some well water to wash his face."

The Lady, seeing Young Wolf and Freckles still standing there dumbly, reminded them.

On hearing this, they snapped out of it and hurried back to the camp to find water, returning after a while with two buckets.

Young Wolf poured the water from the first bucket directly over Hercules’ head, then Freckles borrowed a handkerchief from a female bystander, dampened it and wiped Hercules’ face.

After all the fuss, Hercules could finally barely open his eyes, and the three of them breathed a sigh of relief.

Miss Rabbit hadn’t left yet, simply standing to one side and asking lazily, "Still going to fight?"

Young Wolf hesitated; both the mist and the thunder were frightening, but Hercules had lost so quickly primarily because he was unprepared against these unseen threats.

But once they were on guard, Ireya should not be able to succeed so easily.

The most important thing was that they had lost too miserably in the previous round. If they cowered now, they wouldn’t be able to hold their heads high in the Knight Order ever again.

However, the Lady’s casual demeanor now intimidated Young Wolf and Freckles again, suggesting that she very likely had other tricks up her sleeve.

The mention of the almighty Saturday by the Dragon Slayer Knight earlier had particularly left the two Squire Knights uneasy.

The worst part of fighting is this uncertainty; how can you defend against an opponent when you have no idea what they’ll do next?

If they took to the stage and avoided the mist and the lightning, only for Ireya to pull some new stunt and make them end up like Hercules – beaten so fast they’d be running with their tails between their legs – it wouldn’t just be personal embarrassment; their family’s reputation would suffer too.

The risk was truly too great.

Miss Rabbit and Freckles just stared at each other, each hoping the other would make a move to teach this presumptuous little border lord a lesson.

However, after glaring for quite a while, no one was really willing to take action.

Ireya was getting a bit impatient, "Well, have you decided yet? I’ve got plenty of other things to do here!"

Hearing this, Miss Rabbit and Freckles felt their faces burning with embarrassment, not knowing whether to fight or not to fight.

Eventually, it was Freckles who came up with a quick-witted solution, stepping over to Hercules and speaking righteously, "Our comrade is injured. We need to take care of our friend first, so let’s talk about the challenge later."

"Right, right, right." Miss Rabbit quickly chimed in, "We’re busy now."

Out of the three, only Hercules was a bit dumbfounded because he had washed his face with well water by then. Although his eyes were badly swollen and still stinging with pain, they actually didn’t hamper his vision much anymore.

As for the electric shock, it was quite painful at the moment it happened, and the skin where he got shocked might have been burned red, but the pain came and went quickly, leaving no lasting effects.

Hercules felt he had pretty much recovered, and the most serious injury was actually to his psyche.

Being taken down by a woman half his size, who looked quite delicate, in the blink of an eye, then beaten until he howled in tears, kneeling and begging for mercy.

He might not have died, but it felt almost as if he had.

Since he had already admitted defeat, he couldn’t continue to entangle with Ireya and could only hope his two companions would stand up for him and salvage some of his pride.

Surprisingly, the two were now suddenly concerned about him.

They helped him up from the ground, one on each side, resting his arms over their shoulders.

"Hold on, Hercules. We’ll get you a physician once we’re back at camp," Miss Rabbit said gravely.

Anyone who didn’t know better would think Hercules had suffered a grave injury, as if he was on the verge of death.

Then, without waiting for Hercules to object, Miss Rabbit and Freckles quickly whisked him away.

The lady saw this and snorted lightly, then put the electronic anti-violence device and anti-wolf spray back into her embrace.

After that, she heard applause.

Ireya was startled; she had just noticed that a crowd had formed around her at some unknown point.

Lion Heart Castle was probably not short on people eager to watch a spectacle, since the city was suddenly flooded with so many visitors, yet the combat tournament hadn’t started; there had to be some entertainment to pass the time.

Seeing three young knights from the Royal Knight Order challenging a noble lady had attracted quite a bit of attention.

Everyone had anticipated a one-sided fight with a foregone conclusion but the outcome was completely unexpected.

The noble lady had dispatched one of them cleanly and efficiently, and the remaining two had simply run away in fright.

Having witnessed this miraculous event, the audience was naturally not stingy with their applause.

Furthermore, the combat technique used by the lady had opened the eyes of the onlookers, eliciting gasps and murmurs of admiration. People began muttering to each other, inquiring who Merlin and Ireya really were.

Even though his niece had just won the battle, Torres didn’t look too pleased; instead, he let out a sigh, "You’ve made quite an enemy of them now."

Ireya was nonchalant, "If I had lost just now, they would have been even more arrogant."
