Chapter 235: Chapter 83 Why haven’t you made your move yet?

"Nothing is impossible," Li Yu said. "If you want me to find the assassin, then I’ll help you find the assassin."

Having said that, he pressed the play button, and after a moment, heavy breathing and the sound of chains dragging on the ground came from the outdoor speakers.

Then, Gabriel’s voice arose, "Where are you taking me?"

"Lord David wants to personally interrogate you," a prison guard warned, "you better behave."

"......"

The sound of footsteps continued, and about a minute later, the sound of a wooden door being opened came through the speakers.

But just then, David suddenly drew the sword from the waist of a guard next to him and lunged forward, slashing the speaker.

However, the future ruler of the Western Territory apparently didn’t understand much about electronic components, and his slash did not hit the vital parts of the speaker, only cracking open the casing, while the inside continued to emit sound.

So David continued to swing the long sword in his hand, slashing down again and again until he had chopped the speaker on the ground to pieces, with no more sound coming out.

But he didn’t stop there; his gaze moved to Li Yu, who was nearby, and a fierce light shone in his eyes.

Ireya was the first to react, shouting to her Guard Captain, "Quick, go save him!"

Thomas hesitated for a moment, after all, the person was David, Marquis Kuren’s eldest son, but his gaze soon hardened again, and with resolve, he drew his own sword.

However, Li Yu had come from another direction and was closer to David, but further from Ireya and her group.

Thomas couldn’t reach Li Yu right away.

As David approached menacingly, Li Yu kept retreating, simultaneously tossing a circuit board he had in his hand in another direction.

Without hesitation, David changed direction and pursued the circuit board.

Before the disheveled, sword-wielding, ferocious-looking David could strike, the crowd had already scattered, screaming.

David easily found the circuit board that Li Yu had thrown on the ground, stomped on it fiercely with his boot, crushing the components, and then, still feeling it was not secure enough, he began slashing wildly with his sword until the circuit board was completely destroyed.

With a sigh of relief, David realized his forehead was soaked in sweat, sticking his hair to his skin. He pushed the annoying strands of hair away with his hand, then saw that the people around him were looking at him as if they were beholding a monster.

Indeed, his recent dog-like behavior had frightened many.

Whether it was the nobles familiar with him or the commoners watching from afar, they all stood at a distance from him now.

David knew the impact his recent actions had had, but at any cost, he could not let Li Yu play the conversation that took place in the interrogation room that night.

Otherwise, everything he had would be ruined.

Even though his current actions almost confirmed all of Lady’s accusations against him and caused the good image he had carefully cultivated over the years to collapse as well.

David dropped all pretense, his gaze dark and stern, he commanded the sheriff not far away, "Quick, arrest them."

However, Brian didn’t move.

David thought his order wasn’t clear enough, so he added, "Arrest that prophet named Merlin and the matriarch of the Arias family as well."

"But... what is the charge?" Iron Face asked.

"The defamation of me and my brother, as well as the damage to the Figrola family’s reputation," David replied. He certainly knew that what he was doing now was unsightly, especially in front of so many people, but he had no other choice.

From the moment he drew his sword and charged at Li Yu, he had already stopped caring about his own face.

"Leave me out of it," Hels interjected. "I don’t feel I’ve been defamed at all."

"Shut up, you fool," David scolded, yet when he turned his head, he saw that the sheriff and his men were still standing where they were and hadn’t moved.

Some even made way for Thomas, allowing him to smoothly make his way to Li Yu.

"Prophet Merlin, are you hurt?" the Guard Captain asked with concern.

Li Yu shook his head.

"Why aren’t you guys taking action?" David exclaimed angrily. "Brian, are you still a vassal of the Figrola family?"

Iron Face calmly stated, "I am a vassal of the Figrola family, but my allegiance is to your father, not to you."

"Good," said David, his voice dropping lower. "Since you don’t wish to strike, then I will take action myself. Jacques, go and call over the people from the second and sixth cavalry squads."

The future Lord of the Western Territory ordered his attendant.

Rock Snow City is a town of the Figrola family, and of course, there are troops stationed here from the Figrola family.

Upon hearing his words, Ireya also became a bit nervous. She didn’t bring many guards with her on this trip to Rock Snow City, only a little over twenty.

Even though compared to two months prior, these people’s weapons and equipment had been improved, including hand crossbows with laser targeting, they obviously couldn’t compete with the soldiers of the Figrola family within Rock Snow City.

However, no sooner had David finished speaking than a tall male Noble walked up to Miss Rabbit, "I would ask that Lord David retract his commands."

David narrowed his eyes. "Is the Redmayne family also intending to wade into this muddy water?"

"We have no choice, our Family Head, Ralph, was killed by that Evil Dragon, and since Miss Irelia had killed that Evil Dragon, the Redmayne family owes a favor to the Arias family. We cannot ignore this matter," the tall Noble explained.

The girl was both startled and pleased to hear this, and she cast a grateful look at the Noble from the Redmayne family.

He nodded back at her.

This, however, was not the end. The little girl from the Lycet family, who previously testified that her father and Hels were friends, also stood by Ireya’s side.

David’s face turned ashen, especially when he saw more and more Nobles standing with the girl, his expression grew even more unsightly.

Eventually, even the Immanuel Family, who previously had some differences with Ireya, expressed support for the Lady, David knew his cause was lost.

In the face of the great disaster that swept through the Western Territory, nearly every family suffered losses to varying extents. It was the Arias family that stepped forward and helped everyone through the difficult times.

Now that Ireya and David were in conflict, if the Lady couldn’t produce sufficient evidence, most people would naturally prefer to stay silent and avoid getting involved in the conflict between the two houses. But unfortunately for David, his behavior today was just too appalling, as if he had the word ’guilty’ written all over his forehead.

Moreover, despite knowing he was in the wrong, he still wanted to strike at Ireya. Naturally, the Nobles of the Western Territory would no longer stand idly by.

Returning a favor was one aspect; no one wished for such an event to befall them one day in the future.
