Chapter 86: 070 Robbery_3

"Especially when his gaze fell on me, his body tensed up, as if he were being targeted by some beast." He shook his head and asked, "Is everything arranged?"

"It’s arranged," the attendant replied coldly. "This man sneaks around and doesn’t dare to show his face, but every time he comes, he brings something valuable. It’s definitely ill-gotten. This time, he even asked for seventy Gold Coins all at once. Young Master Brey certainly won’t let it slide."

"Hmm," Gerry nodded. "You watch the store. I’ll go deliver the goods to the Young Master."

"Yes," the attendant responded.

「Later.」

Leaving the market, Carl habitually circled the vicinity. Just as he was planning to return to the Divine Domain Fragment, he suddenly paused, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.

Something’s not right!

His powerful Constitution endowed him with exceptional Perception.

In the Giant Spirit Breathing Technique, there was even a specific Magic Door to temporarily enhance the five senses.

Sensing something amiss, he immediately activated the Magic Door. His ears trembled slightly, and the faint footsteps behind him gradually became clearer.

Someone following?

At least three people!

Frowning slightly, Carl quickened his pace toward the outskirts of the city, and the ones behind him also sped up.

As expected! They were indeed after him.

Suddenly, the footsteps from behind quickened. One person moved to the front, blocking his path in a narrow alley.

"HEH HEH..." The person blocking the way was short and stocky, each hand clutching a dagger, smirking as he looked at him. "Kid, hand over everything you have on you."

"You know what I have on me?" Carl spoke slowly. "Did Gerry inform you?"

"What does it matter who informed us?" The two others had also caught up by now, one of them dressed like a wandering swordsman. He pointed his Longsword at Carl. "Just hand over what you have and come with us, or you’ll regret it."

"HEH..." Carl chuckled lightly, suddenly rushing forward.

Gale Swordsmanship!

Battle Skill—Gale Slash!

Several afterimages suddenly appeared, instantly enveloping the stocky robber.

Such ferocious swordsmanship changed the complexion of the robber facing its edge, forcing him to cry out in a plaintive wail, "Save me!"

"Knight Attendant?"

The wandering swordsman’s eyes narrowed. His feet stamped fiercely as his Longsword thrust rapidly toward Carl’s back.

Battle Skill—Thrust!

This was a Martial Art focused on burst power; its blade tore through the air, even emitting a faint whistling. Even if one wore armor, it could still penetrate if the armor wasn’t high quality.

"CLANG..." The sound of the collision resonated.

Carl slew the stocky robber in front of him with his sword and then turned to block the thrust, his movements smooth and effortless, as if he were waving a straw. The powerful destructive force brought by the Battle Skill failed to elicit any reaction.

Something’s wrong!

The wandering swordsman’s eyes bulged. "Knight! Run!"

To think I actually dared to rob a Knight? It’s practically a death wish!

Before he could react, Carl easily knocked his Longsword away. The next moment, his head flew from his body.

The last remaining man hadn’t even begun to act. When he saw his two companions die in succession, he couldn’t help but turn and flee, wailing.

"Spare—"

"PFFT!"

Carl stepped forward, thrusting his sword through the last man’s heart. He slowly withdrew it as he looked toward the Consignment Store he had just left. After a brief pause, his figure disappeared from the spot.

「Soon.」

The attendant Gerry had called was kneeling, trembling, on the ground, his clothes soaked with cold sweat.

"Where did Gerry go?" Carl stood before him, asking slowly, "Speak."

The attendant shivered, saying hastily, "It’s not my fault! Uncle Gerry made me do it! He... he went to find Young Master Brey."

"Brey?" Carl’s eyes flickered. "Brey Foster?"

"Yes."

"PFFT!"

The Longsword sliced through the air. As the lamplight flickered, the shadow on the wall suddenly split in two. The two halves of the body slowly fell to the ground.
