Chapter 65: The Drunken Woman Was the Female Lead?

"Come inside."

Having no choice, Calix half-heartedly let Xander and Davin in. Leslie quietly watched the three men’s interaction.

"Davin," Calix glanced at his other friend, "Did he drag you here? Aren’t we supposed to meet at Viluxs this Sunday?"

Davin shrugged. A huge smile was plastered on his good-looking face, "That’s another matter. Xander told me to come here. Violet’s not with him tonight."

"So annoying," Calix openly rolled his eyes, "He should just go chasing after her."

"What?" Xander looked at Calix, feigning to be disdained, "Open your best bottle. I’ll open mine when we gather at Viluxs later."

"You know I don’t drink much," Calix smacked Xander’s back, pushing him to move along the hallway, "You come here to make trouble for me when your girlfriend’s busy."

"You told me not to glue myself at her hip," Xander scoffed, scowling at Calix, "Taking your word back now?"

"I did advise you that but, it doesn’t mean you can rub your existence to my face," Calix pretended to frown. He pointed to the lounge, "Go there. I’ll bring something out."

"Haha," Davin chuckled, "I forgot to bring your wedding gift. I’ll give it to you at Viluxs."

"You’re a good friend, Davin," Calix glared at Xander, "Not like this man. He hasn’t given me anything."

"Go get our drinks and snacks," Xander slapped Calix’s back, doing what his friend did to him just now, "Or, do you want us to raid your cellar and kitchen?"

"No, thank you."

Once again Calix pushed Xander and Davin to head to the lounge. Once they disappeared, he glanced in a direction, seeing a laughing Leslie.

"Why? Think it’s funny?" Calix raised his brows, a smile carved on his lips.

"A little," Leslie shrugged, "I’ll go back to my room now. CEO Xu, don’t get wasted."

"Hah! I won’t," Calix smiled proudly, "I can handle my liquor but, I don’t like drinking it much."

Leslie burst out laughing. She quickly returned upstairs while Calix headed to the kitchen.

Once Leslie got back to her bedroom, she grabbed the novel from the morning instead of continuing to read the diary. She thought that she shouldn’t rush things.

Her emotions went awry as she read the diary entries. The feelings were so uncomfortable, prompting her to take her time.

"Mimo, what are you doing?" Leslie brought the book to the couch. She threw herself on it.

|Existing.|

Mimo’s answer lured laughter out of Leslie’s mouth. Shaking her head in helplessness, she opened the page she paused her reading.

As mentioned by Calix earlier, this novel was interesting.

The mother was on the verge of divorce when the girl was kidnapped. Panicking, she tried looking for her beloved daughter by herself but, so many things came to hinder her.

There was no call for ransom. In fact, the mother was accused by the media that she was a bad one as if she planned this kidnapping herself.

’I can’t imagine being her ah. Desperately looking for her daughter but, gets painted as the perpetrator instead.’

Leslie recalled the time when Calix told Edward to look for Calliope. She hoped the capable chief assistant managed to gather the information by next week.

Didn’t most of the domineering CEOs’ assistants adept in this kind of stuff? They usually brought the information their bosses wanted to their work desks.

"Hey, Mimo," Leslie glanced at the red fox toy. It was lying on the bed, "What’s Poppy doing now? Her emotions, is she okay?"

Leslie hoped that Mimo could see or sense more but, she shouldn’t push her luck away. There was nothing she could do if the crochet fox toy was only able to pick up Calliope’s emotions.

|Poppy is happy. I can sense she’s laughing. Maybe, she’s playing with the children?|

Leslie chuckled, her heart was more at ease, "I think so too. You know how Poppy can charm children her age to be friends with her."

Calliope was always like that. Back in the daycare and kindergarten, Leslie had no problems leaving her daughter there. Calliope quickly made friends with everyone.

At first, Leslie was worried that Calliope would be ostracized for having no father. Such issues were actually common.

Thankfully, Calliope didn’t need to go through that kind of matter. The caretakers and teachers often told Leslie how well-loved her daughter was, much to her delight.

"...huh?"

Leslie was caught off guard when something suddenly appeared above her. It was a tiny ball of light.

"What is this... ah!"

Before Leslie was able to wonder what it was, the light jumped into her forehead, dissolving in the middle. Lying still on the couch, her consciousness was taken away by the light ball.

**********

’Where am I? This is... a hotel? Looks like one.’

Leslie found herself in another place once she opened her eyes. She tried calling for Mimo but, strangely it didn’t answer her usual.

’This is not reality. It feels like...’

A dream.

Leslie’s hunch was telling her that. She looked at the well-lit hallway with the carpet flooring. In the distance, she caught the sight of a woman helping a drunken one to walk.

"Hah, thank goodness she’s so lightweight. Easy for me to go with my plan."

Leslie blinked. The woman’s voice entered her hearing perfectly. She recognized a malicious look expressed by the woman in the black tight dress. The woman didn’t suppress it at all.

’This... does she wanna harm the drunk one?’

Leslie quickly followed them. The black-dressed woman stopped in front of a hotel room.

’35-10.’

Leslie randomly read the number. She was aghast to see a young man wearing a white bathrobe open the door.

Wait... why did this kind of scene look so familiar?

The woman in the black dress pushed the drunken woman off to the man’s arms. He accepted it gladly. A sneer carved on his lips.

"Wow~ I didn’t think that I could hug Actress Yu tonight."

The man’s eyes glinted with lust. He ran the back of his left hand on the drunkenly unconscious woman’s cheeks.

"Do as you’re told," said the black-dressed woman, "Take off her dress. Make sure the bed looks messy when you take the pictures. I wanna send those photos to CEO Qin. Hah! He’ll know how dirty this bitch is."

"Tsk. If she’s not Xander’s woman, I’ll taste her myself. What a pity," sighed the man deeply.

"Are you scared? You can do all you want with her."

"Nah. Do you want to get me killed?" refused the man, "I’ll just do my job. I don’t like sleeping with an unconscious woman anyway. There’s no thrill."

Leslie was perplexed. She didn’t expect that the drunken woman was Violet!

"I’ll wire the rest of the payment tomorrow," said the woman. She turned around, preparing to leave, "Don’t slack off."

"Yeah, yeah, Miss Tang."

Leslie was panicking inside.

’This... what can I do?’

The man slammed the door shut, prompting Leslie to pass through the walls. Fortunately, she could.

Alarmed, Leslie looked at the man putting Violet on the bed. She tried grabbing any object but, everything went through her hands.

’Argh! Why can’t I touch anything when it’s urgent?!’

Leslie angrily stared at the table clock.

The time was pointing to midnight. A brand new day would start in mere minutes.

If this went on, Violet’s reputation would be ruined tomorrow morning!
