Chapter 462: The Moonlit Ocean

Chapter 462: The Moonlit Ocean

The exhausted little Calliope ate dinner with her eyes half-opened. She kept dozing off when Calix carried her upstairs to her bedroom.

"Seashells... sandcastle... Poppy’s ah..."

Calix and Leslie exchanged an amused look upon listening to Calliope’s sleeptalk. The dashing rocket from this afternoon was no more, replaced by a deflated balloon.

Well, their little one would have boundless energy for tomorrow’s adventure. That was for sure.

After tucking Calliope in bed, Calix and Leslie went to the room next door. They headed to the balcony, intending to enjoy the cool night breeze and the melody of the waves.

The moonlit ocean appeared so magical under the starry night sky. The rhythmic echoes of the waves kissing the shore drifted in the air, conjuring an intimate and peaceful ambiance.

"Want me to massage your legs now? Or, before bed?" asked Calix as he supported Leslie to sit on the bench adorned with plush cushions, "You walked a lot today, sweetheart."

"Oh, I’d love to get a massage now," Leslie chuckled, acknowledging her legs felt more strained than usual, "Thank you, honey."

The frequency of Calix giving Leslie a massage increased once she started walking more by relying on the cane. He usually did it before they slept every night, forming a new routine in their lives.

Crouching opposite Leslie, Calix carefully slipped the hem of her skirt up to her thighs before holding her right foot with his right hand. His left thumb lingered a moment longer on her soft skin before he placed his palm under her calf.

"I’ll start now."

"En."

Leslie quietly watched Calix placing her right foot on his thigh. She pretended not to notice the lingering heat left by his touch on the side of her skin earlier.

Calix began by stroking the sole of Leslie’s foot, his chin tilting down. Sandwiching her foot in between his broad palms, he rubbed the skin firmly for a few minutes before changing it to gentle strokes.

Leaning back against the cushions, Leslie’s eyes continued lingering on Calix. The warmth of his touch and the measured movements cocooned her in a state of pure comfort and...

This was dangerous for her heart.

Leslie couldn’t deny how intimate this moment felt, perhaps more than when she and Calix shared hugs and kisses.

Each slow kneading, each gentle circular motion, caused her heart to thump rapidly in her chest. Her stiff muscles gradually softened under his care, and so did her insides.

Calix let go of Leslie’s right foot, sliding his hands up to her calf. She bit her lower lip, her breath almost hitching as her skin tingled.

This was something she had been feeling as of late.

There was a quiet intensity in the way he touched her, imbued by both his tenderness and unspoken desire.

’Oh gosh...’

Leslie felt her pulse quickened when Calix slipped his fingers just below her knee, moving with slow precision.

The unmistakable intensity made her heart race as the heat of his touch seeped into her skin, warming her from the inside out.

Calix paused once he placed his hands around Leslie’s knees, his fingertips slightly grazing the lower part of her thigh. Lifting his chin, his eyes met hers.

"Should I move further, sweetheart?"

The usual mellowness in Calix’s voice disappeared, thickened by his desire. Leslie blinked, thinking how tonight felt more intense than the previous ones.

"...you can."

Leslie gave Calix a soft nod, her lips parting slightly as she released a suppressed breath. Heat emanated from her cheeks, painting her entire face with a lovely shade of pink.

As Calix moved his fingers slowly upward, Leslie held the folded hem of her skirt in between her legs. She bit her lower lip hard, holding back from letting a sound when his fingers grazed the sensitive spot of her skin.

None of them spoke anymore, letting themselves drift in the sea of their unspoken passion under the ethereal glow of the moonlight.

Once Calix was done with both of her legs, Leslie unintentionally expelled a long sigh. Her body felt weak all over.

"Do you feel better?" asked Calix, his voice husky. He was still crouching opposite her.

Blinking, Leslie looked at Calix, her cheeks blushing, "...yes. Thank you, honey."

A smile was drawn on Calix’s face. Instead of moving up to sit beside Leslie, he leaned closer and pressed his lips on her right knee.

Flustered, Leslie unconsciously held her breath. She loosened her grasp on her skirt, letting the fabric cascade below her knees.

Calix chuckled, his eyes glinting mischievously. Rising to his feet, he took his spot beside Leslie whose limpid eyes remained on his face.

"Do I look more handsome tonight?"

Arching his brows, Calix let the question leave his mouth. He gripped Leslie’s chin, taking in the glazed look in her eyes.

Calix wondered if Leslie thought about the same thing as him. He was so tempted to seize her plump lips into his as how he usually did but, he wished to savor the feverish look in her eyes longer.

They brimmed with intense passion, more heated than usual.

Leslie was unable to give Calix any immediate reply. She couldn’t deny the obvious shift in the air, speaking out more of their quiet longing for each other tonight.

When Leslie found her voice again, she asked something she had never done before.

"Calix... do you want to sleep... with me? As in..."

Unfortunately, he swallowed the rest of her words when he finally gave in to his desire, capturing her lips with his.

Leslie felt a little dizzy. Calix usually began with soft kisses before deepening them but, now he immediately sought to entangle their tongues together.

His burst of passion tonight made her melt further under his touch.

But... what she thought would happen didn’t take place.

Calix reluctantly broke the kiss, seeing the hazy look of desire in Leslie’s eyes. Cupping both of her cheeks with his palms, he whispered above her lips.

"Tomorrow night, sweetheart... tomorrow..."

Lifting one hand, Leslie grazed her fingertips on Calix’s face. She locked her eyes onto his, resisting the urge to look away.

"I’ll wait for tomorrow night, honey."

Somehow, she was glad it wouldn’t happen tonight. His words allowed her time to prepare her heart.

Calix let out a helpless chuckle. Enveloping Leslie in an embrace, he spoke ever so tenderly.

"I will give you an unforgettable night, my love."

Leslie replied nothing. Nestling her face on his chest, she smiled at the quick rhythm of his heartbeat.
