Around one hour ago, Evelyn finally emerged from her bedroom. She was simply donning a short-sleeved shirt and wide-leg denim pants but, a radiance aura replaced her previously gloomy mood.

"Second Sister! Thank you for the article!"

A happy Evelyn thanked Leslie as soon as they met in the lounge on the first floor. Calliope was still napping in her room, allowing the two ladies to have a private chat.

"Do you think I implied something... by sending that link to you?" asked Leslie, her smile hinting at something conspiratorial.

Laughing at Leslie’s remark, Evelyn returned her sister-in-law’s smile with a sly look, "Oh? What do you mean by that? I don’t understand ah."

Amused by Evelyn’s reply, Leslie burst out laughing. The two ladies’ giggles echoed in the lounge, adding merriment to the tranquil air around them.

Instead of talking about the cheating scumbag, Leslie and Evelyn chatted about the latter’s previous works.

Leslie was eager to learn more about the dramas and movies Evelyn starred in, especially the ones she had watched before. Fortunately, Evelyn was more than happy to share her experience.

Not long after, Calliope appeared. Her beaming face indicated how the dumpling had already fully recharged her energy.

Running toward Leslie and Evelyn, Calliope sweetly asked, "Mama, Little Aunt~ Can we play in the pool?"

The little one’s twinkling eyes expressed her wish to play with the water. She missed using her cute floaties and wearing her adorable swimwear.

"Sounds great! Let’s go now?"

Evelyn quickly agreed. The thought of swimming in the cool water under the hot sun was so tempting. She felt like doing some kind of activity after locking herself up in the room for hours.

"Change to your swimwear, Poppy..." Leslie smiled, liking the idea of spending time with Calliope at the rooftop pool, "Don’t forget your... floaties too..."

"Yayy!"

The happy little dumpling hurriedly returned to her room upstairs. Evelyn tagged along, wanting to help Calliope if needed.

Leslie headed to the kitchen, finding Aunt Wendy and Mrs. An chatting about recipes. Her appearance was welcomed by the two older ladies.

"We gonna play at the pool. Aunt Wendy, please prepare... some snacks and drinks for us..."

Aunt Wendy nodded before saying, "I’ll bring up some sandwiches, puddings and watermelon juice. Oh, mineral water too. Do you need anything else, Mrs. Leslie?"

"Hehe, those sound yummy already..." Leslie chuckled, the curves of her eyes softening, "Thank you, Aunt Wendy..."

Soon, Leslie, Evelyn and Calliope met at the rooftop pool. Aside from the former, the other two changed into swimwear.

Evelyn donned a one-piece swimwear in the color silver while Calliope picked her pink swimwear with a ruffle skirt attached from the chest. The little one also brought along her white bunny float and pink inflatable armbands in the shape of ribbons.

As Evelyn and Calliope were having fun in the pool, Leslie simply watched from the sun lounge chair. Aunt Wendy came bringing the snacks and drinks.

Merry laughter echoed in between the sounds of water splashing.

Of course, all three of them were frozen silly when someone—Calix—suddenly appeared by shouting and jumping into the pool.

"Hahaha! Surprised?"

Calix’s joyful laughter snapped Leslie, Evelyn and Calliope out of their shock. All three of them stared at him as if they had just seen an alien.

"Second Brother! Can’t you appear like normal?"

Annoyed by Calix’s literal stunt, Evelyn splashed water toward Calix. She deliberately used a greater force when doing so. Giant waves rippled violently on the surface.

"Hey! Don’t throw water at me! Ah!"

"Serve you right!"

Evelyn continued paddling water toward Calix. The little cascade of droplets rose and fell from the pool, catching the shimmer from the summer sun.

"Papa! Why jump like that ah? Poppy is shock!"

A pouty Calliope kicked the water with her short legs, pushing herself to Calix using her float. Her entire body including her face and hair were soaked.

"Hahaha! My buttercup was so shocked? Aren’t you happy to see Papa huh?"

Ignoring the annoyed Evelyn, Calix pulled Calliope close to him. He laughed more at the sight of his daughter’s short legs moving in the water.

"Happy but angry too," Calliope continued pouting as she glared at Calix, "Papa is so bad ah! Don’t jump like that!"

"Hehe, yeah, yeah," Calix pinched both of Calliope’s chubby cheeks, entertained by how cute his daughter looked with her little pouty lips, "Aren’t you cold? If you are, come out of the pool."

"No~ Poppy still wanna play."

Hugging her bunny float, Calliope turned around. She continued kicking the water with her small feet. Calix chuckled in affection seeing his daughter’s fondness for playing with water.

Evelyn and Calliope resumed playing together. Calix swam to the edge of the pool, the one facing Leslie. He laughed again as he saw her baffled look.

"Why? Still surprised to see me?"

"Yeah... Why did you jump ah? Your shirt is all... wet..."

Calix agilely climbed from the pool, splashing more water to the floor. Rising to his feet, he slowly approached where Leslie was sitting.

"Hehe, I just felt like it."

"Geez, you’re really something..." Leslie shook her head, staring at Calix meaningfully, "Here, take this towel..."

Calix glanced at the baggy white shirt he had just worn earlier, entirely soaking wet because of his stunt. Feeling uncomfortable with the fabric clinging to his body, he began to unbutton it.

’Wait...’

Recalling his seduction plan, Calix sensed heat creeping in from his face.

He was confident in his body, believing to be on the same level as the top male celebrities who were known for their toned abs.

Shouldn’t she be attracted by this physical aspect of him?

’Haha... I wanna seduce her but, why do I feel shy ah?’

Calix purposely stood facing Leslie yet he tried to act as naturally as possible. One by one, he unbuttoned the shirt, gradually exposing his well-developed abs.

But..

’She didn’t look at me!’

Calix surreptitiously glanced at Leslie, only to find her waving and smiling at Calliope and Evelyn.
