"Poppy is done~ Poppy washes hands~"

In a few minutes, Calliope walked out of the washroom, still appearing energetic instead of being sleepy. She held the pink towel close with a bright smile on her small face.

"Drink some water before you sleep," said Calix while taking the towel from Calliope. He hung it back on the rod, "Up you go, buttercup. Papa will get some water for you."

"Okay~ Mama, brush your teeth?" Calliope glanced at Leslie before climbing on the bed.

"Mama will..." Leslie scooted closer to the edge of the couch, intending to reach the wheelchair, "Wait in bed, en, Poppy?"

Calliope nodded. Hugging the toy Mimo close to her, she rolled to the center of the bed. Calix handed her a glass of water, urging her to drink.

"Want me to help?" Calix hurriedly approached Leslie, wanting to offer any physical support if she needed it, "Or, do you want Mrs. Bai here?"

"You... No need to call for Mrs. Bai..."

"Okay."

Calix had helped Leslie to the washroom many times before. Aside from the anti-slip mat and railings installed, he also got another wheelchair for her.

The one used in the washroom was considerably smaller than the bulky wheelchairs Leslie had been using indoors and outdoors. It eased her movements in the washroom a lot.

While Leslie was in the washroom, Calix tucked Calliope in. The father and daughter’s funny conversation slipped through the door, earning smiles from her.

’I wonder how our outing will be tomorrow.’

Leslie felt good because her strength had improved much better than before. Still, she hoped to stand and walk longer now that she had reunited with Calliope.

Calix wanted to bring them to the beach this summer. Leslie wished to feel the sandy beach under her feet as she walked along the shoreline with Calliope.

Even better if she could go swimming.

Leslie showed up at the door. Calix slid down from the bed, hurrying to help her from the washroom wheelchair to her indoor one. There was a significant distance from the door to the bed, a length Leslie couldn’t conquer by walking yet.

"Go to sleep, ladies."

Calix helped Leslie to lie on the bed. Calliope happily scooted closer to her mother.

"You sleep too..." said Leslie, her eyes gleamed playfully as she stared at Calix, "The bed is wide... No need to sleep like a statue..."

CEO Xu had nothing to say. Being self-conscious all of a sudden, he awkwardly crawled into the bed, taking a place on the other side of Calliope.

Yes, yes, this bed was big. He didn’t have to worry about bumping into her. Tho he needed to be cautious about the small dumpling lying between them.

"W-well... I’ll turn off the lights," Calix reached the remote controller. He glanced at Calliope, "Can you sleep in the dark, Poppy?"

"Poppy can~" answered Calliope happily, still showing no signs of sleepiness, "Good night, Mama and Papa."

Calliope frantically moved her small legs under the blanket, unable to hold back her excitement from sleeping with her parents. Her eyes wide, she kept looking at Leslie and Calix.

"Poppy, sleep..." Leslie reached out for Calliope’s head, gently stroking through her daughter’s hair, "We’ll have a busy day tomorrow..."

"En, en," Calliope tilted her chin up, openly staring at Leslie, "Mama, a good night kiss ah."

"Hehe, you want it?" asked Leslie teasingly.

In their previous world, Leslie would never go to bed without hugging and kissing Calliope good night. It had been a loving gesture shared between them.

"Yup!" Calliope nodded again while playing with Mimo’s hand, "Mimo too..."

"Okay, a good night kiss for... my darling daughter... and Mimo..."

Leslie dropped a kiss on Calliope’s forehead, making the child laugh in glee. She shifted to the toy Mimo next.

"Hehe, Mama too~"

Calliope pecked on Leslie’s left cheek, earning chuckles from her.

Calix had been watching the mother and daughter being so affectionate. He couldn’t deny how envious he felt. He wished to be included too.

"...want a good night kiss from Papa too?" asked Calix hesitantly, afraid he would be turned down by Calliope.

"Want!"

Laughing in nervousness, Calix brushed his lips on Calliope’s forehead. His daughter’s shampoo scent swirled in the air, tickling his heart.

"Good night, buttercup."

"Good night~ Papa, a kiss for Papa too!"

Calliope did the same thing for Calix. The little munchkin kissed her father’s cheek. Her little act brought joy to the man’s heart.

Calix finally turned off the main lights, leaving only the underbed lights on. Their orange color cast a warm glow in the dark bedroom. The family of three all lay on the wide bed.

Pulling the blanket up, Calix covered his tall frame with it. He let Leslie and Calliope share a blanket while he got himself another one. He tried to be as quiet as possible, not wanting to show his awkwardness to Leslie.

"Papa..."

Calliope’s sweet voice caught Calix’s attention. It sounded so audible in the quiet bedroom. Leslie also heard the child calling the man.

"Poppy, need anything?"

Calix propped up on one elbow, looking at Calliope from the elevated angle. The little one’s features were dimly lit by the underbed lights.

Blinking her round eyes, Calliope asked, "No good night kiss for Mama? Mama, no kiss Papa too?"

"..."

The two adults froze, never expecting to hear such a question from their young child.

"Well, we..."

Calix tried to make up excuses but, Calliope’s innocent gaze appeared so intrusive in this awkward moment. Stammering, he ended up saying nothing.

Leslie had come out of her initial shock. She bit her lower lip hard, trying to hold back from laughing out loud.

The stiff look on Calix’s face appeared so funny in Leslie’s eyes. She felt bad for being entertained by his and Calliope’s silly interaction.

Calliope asked again, "No good night kiss?"

"..."

Calix nervously looked from the expectant Calliope to the quiet Leslie. He couldn’t help but feel the freezing cold air blasted on him.
