Chapter 542: What does 507 look like when making a move?
"Fuck!"
Beside him, Shane, who was slaughtering Refined Demons with high-penetration Grant Magic, swore loudly upon seeing Milu’s condition.
It seemed like Milu was doing something similar to Shane, but even to an untrained eye, it was clear that despite achieving similar outcomes, the things they were doing were worlds apart.
Shane, relying on his high-impact magic, could explode a Refined Demon with a single touch.
And Milu?
Goodness, that girl wasn’t using any magic at all, not even any Skills. She was concentrating all her immense power into her fingertip, poking at the Refined Demon, and literally poking it to explosion.
The power that burst forth in that instant could likely blow up a small mountain.
Such terrifying power was something Shane, even now, could absolutely not achieve, nor could You Lin. Perhaps only Ai Yi and Lilith could challenge it.
How could Shane not explode with a curse?
"Don’t let those Refined Demons escape, Milu."
Instead, it was Lide, who was always perched on Milu’s head, giving instructions calmly.
"Okay!"
Milu obediently nodded her little head and the next second, she transformed into a streak of afterimage, darting out.
The speed of the afterimage wasn’t very fast.
However, during its movement, the afterimage suddenly split in two, then two into four, in a blink dividing into several figures, ghostlike, swooping toward the fleeing Refined Demons.
"Clone?"
Shane was slightly startled but then dismissed the thought.
Because, in his Perception, all the figures were corporeal, not some ethereal clones.
In that moment, Milu had turned into several figures, each darting toward a Refined Demon, gathering astonishing power at the fingertips, and directly poking at the back of the fleeing Refined Demons.
"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"...
In an instant, throughout the forest, as ghostly figures drifted by, Refined Demons were successively exploding, blasted into a shower of blood and flesh, staining the earth red.
The scene was unimaginably gruesome.
"Jeez, how cruel, how ruthless."
Shane, seemingly filled with righteous indignation, criticized, yet his movements didn’t slow down at all. Like Milu, his fingertips aimed at one Refined Demon after another, and amidst fluctuations of magic power, he exploded them one by one.
The already eerie and terrifying Taiger Forest turned into a literal hell under their merciless massacre by Shane and Milu.
The Refined Demons, attracted by the magic power exuding from Shane, met their ends without exception, ultimately leaving nothing but scattered flesh and blood, limbs and broken bodies, creating a scene strikingly horrifying.
Under their relentless slaughter, none of the attracted Refined Demons could survive.
By the time both had ceased their carnage, though not a thousand, there were certainly several hundred Refined Demons burst asunder.
"Is it over?"
Shane looked around and found no more Refined Demons appearing, could not help but feel a bit regretful as he stood there so composedly in this bloody hell-like battlefield, completely missing the time when he first arrived in this world, splotched with blood, soon ended up vomiting for a day in embarrassment.
"None?"
Milu also stopped, a delicate and tiny finger still raised. All the clones returned to one figure, looking as if she hadn’t had enough fun yet.
"The Refined Demons in this area should be cleared," Lide remarked somewhat irritably, looking at the two. "What? You two still think it’s not enough?"
As soon as this was said, Shane and Milu responded in unison.
"Not enough."
That moment, a strange camaraderie arose between the two.
Lide was speechless.
"So you were the one who said there was exhilarating exercise, huh?" Shane, sounding as if he finally had a chance to retaliate, laughed proudly. "In the end, I only lifted a finger, and everything was over, it’s a shame these guys looked so tough but turned out to be nothing."
"Yep!" Milu nodded seriously, agreeing. "Finger killing, fun, opponents, too weak!"
The two of them suddenly turned into one faction.
"Alright Milu, don’t be a traitor," Lide tapped Milu’s head, then looked at Shane and said, "I might have underestimated you. I thought these Refined Demons might give you some trouble."
It wasn’t surprising Lide would think this way.
She had heard of Shane, but knew little about him.
She knew Shane had the capability to single-handedly challenge the declining Old Demon Clan Faction of the Slaughterers, single-handedly wipe out nearly half the Kingdom Knights, and even once destroyed the Noble District of the Mitra Kingdom’s Royal Capital; his strength was certainly not bad.
But Shane was barely over twenty years old and a human, not born to the magic-innate Elf race, nor a natural close-combat fighter like the Beastman. Even if Lide overestimated Shane, it was hard to imagine him being overly strong.
So, in Lide’s view, Shane’s reaching Legendary level at his age was already quite astonishing, possibly comparable only to the Kingdom Treasure of the Human Race.
Who would have guessed that Shane’s strength was much better than she had imagined?
His Level seemed not high, but his strength far surpassed his own level.
Based solely on the part he had shown so far, Shane had performed no less impressively than any of the Thirteen Heroes.
Lide could guarantee that.
After all, no one in the Demon Clan knew the Thirteen Heroes better than she did.
"Now I’m starting to get curious," Lide squinted her eyes and said, "Why had we never heard of a little monster like you before?"
Given the strength and talent Shane had shown, logically, he should have been famous.
But in reality?
About six months ago, the name Shane was probably unheard of by anyone.
The guy appeared out of nowhere, suddenly gaining fame and then suddenly revealing his edge, becoming someone no one in the entire world dared to ignore, a household name.
Before, Lide hadn’t paid much attention to this, but now, she found it a bit strange, a bit curious.
(Big sister and Ai Yi must know something, right?)
Lide had this premonition.
Otherwise, with the cautious character of that big sister, she would never have allowed Ai Yi to hang out all day with a mysterious human boy.
(Did that brat Ai Yi fancy this human boy because of the secrets he holds?)
Having figured these things out, Lide became somewhat interested in Shane.
On the other hand, Milu seemed to have taken a liking to Shane, as she was already hugging his leg, smiling broadly.
"Big brother, you’re really fun."
Milu smiled so much that her eyes narrowed into crescents.
This made Shane feel uncomfortable.
Thinking about how this seemingly innocent and romantic girl had just obliterated Refined Demons with her fingers, Shane couldn’t help but worry that the hand hugging his leg might accidentally use some force and break his leg.
And thinking of how this girl had not found the bloody scene scary but instead found it fun and laughed joyfully, Shane felt more and more that his initial premonition was correct.
This little girl’s nature contained a part that was quite dangerous.
Moreover, her power was quite bizarre, able to ignore barriers and enemy attacks, existing as if not of this world, just like a mirage; whether set on fire or bitten by Refined Demon fangs, she was unfazed.
All attacks would penetrate her body, unable to touch her person, and she herself possessed tremendous power, enough to explode a Refined Demon with a finger, and additionally she could clone herself, both bizarre and terrifying.
Shane felt that this naive and romantic girl didn’t seem human at all.
She was more like—"Ghost."
Therefore, Shane always felt an indescribable chill around his heart when it came to Milu.
On the other hand, Lide, who seemed quite mysterious as a little furry creature, aroused his curiosity a bit.
"By the way, why didn’t you make a move just now?" Shane asked Lide, "I wanted to see how you would act."
Upon hearing this, Lide glanced at Shane.
"If other humans knew what you thought, they would probably drown you in their spittle," she said with a hint of strangeness.
"What do you mean by that?"
Shane raised his eyebrows.
"It’s simple," Lide smiled leisurely, "Because they are not like you, they definitely don’t want to see me take action."
Shane naturally wouldn’t understand this statement.
Only Nadura, embodying nature, shivered as if recalling some psychological trauma.
Looking at Milu hugging Shane’s leg with a cheerful smile, and Lide lying lazily on Milu’s head, Nadura let out a bitter laugh.
Only she knew how terrifying this combination of one person and one creature truly was.
Let me put it this way.
If in the Demon Clan, Dragon Demons and Blood Demons were known as the most brutal, then the most dangerous acknowledged by everyone were these two right here.
Dragon Demons and Blood Demons were scary because of their brutal nature, but not these two.
Their characters weren’t bad—one was innocent and naive, the other lazy and easy to speak to—but when they displayed their true power, apart from the Demon King, the people who would bring the greatest harm to the world were them.
Thus, it was essential for these two not to act alone, one needed to be constrained by others, and the other had to constrain herself.
If those constraints were lifted, they would transform in an instant into the most terrifying beings, bringing calamity to the world.
Without exaggeration, even the Evil God Lilith, who once turned the ground into Purgatory, was probably on par with these two.
If Lilith was the strongest Evil God, then these two were the strongest Evil Demons.
"Luckily, unlike Dragon Demons and Blood Demons, these two are less temperamental and easier to deal with."
Nadura could only be relieved that Shane had encountered these two.
