Why must the devil be Defeated?
Chapter 373 - 370 [Supreme God’s Blessing]

Chapter 373: 370 [Supreme God’s Blessing]

Upon his second visit to the Temple, the place remained as dark and eerie as before.

However, compared to the last visit, the Temple was now filled not only with an ever-flowing black mist of evil energy but also with frenzied ancient creatures bursting forth.

It was a spectacle that could rival a beast tide.

Humans.

Elves.

Dwarves.

Beastmen.

As well as members of the Demon Clan and demons.

Almost every race’s existence could be found here, some of which were from species that no longer exist today, snarling and engaging in mutual slaughter, biting, and trampling each other in a truly hair-raising scene.

"Granting Fire."

At that moment, accompanied by the incantation, majestic flames burst forth in the corridors of the Temple, exploding instantly like a fire dragon charging through.

Countless evil creatures were ignited in the flames, roaring in pain, and were burnt to ashes, clearing out the corridor.

Shane appeared on the corridor, holding the Holy Sword in one hand and raising the other toward the front, with waves of magic power surging around him.

Mafi, who stood beside him, though previously exposed to such power, was still shaken by the magnitude of Shane’s magic and his skill in utilizing Grant Magic.

The attribute "Fire" was not particularly advanced within the realm of Grant Magic.

It was merely an intermediate attribute, that is, a kind of intermediate magic.

Ordinarily, when one would cast this spell, it would merely add the attribute of "fire" to their weapon for a brief moment, briefly endowing it with the power of a flame magic weapon.

Yet Shane would directly apply the "Fire" attribute to buildings, causing them to spout fire and create a vast sea of flames that swept enemies away. Mafi, even being a Beastman Priest and having witnessed many divine beings of the Divine Race and powerful deities alongside Iris, had never seen such powerful and skillful use of magic.

This was not something that could be achieved with mere intermediate magic, nor could it be solely attributed to strong magic power.

To accomplish this, Shane needed not only significant strength in magic but also highly refined magic skills.

What did this imply?

It meant that Shane’s level in Grant Magic was extraordinarily high.

And the versatility and effects of advanced Grant Magic were not to be taken lightly, a topic of discussion for countless scholars in the field of magic.

They all agreed that Grant Magic only truly revealed its formidable potential in the hands of mages with sufficient magic power, a high level of talent, and the capability to elevate the level of "Magic·Grant".

Mafi felt that she might have just witnessed someone unleashing the true power of Grant Magic.

"Boom!"

The flames continued to sweep across, raging through the Temple’s corridors and burning every evil creature to cinders.

Nevertheless, despite this, many more evil creatures screamed and charged out, attacking both of them.

"Aren’t there too many of them?"

As Shane cleared the field with magic, making his way deeper into the Temple, he couldn’t help but complain.

"...this is still nothing,"

Mafi responded subconsciously.

But as she said, it was still few in number.

One must know that the creatures driven mad by the Evil God Lillith were once counted by entire continents. If they were all sealed here, the evil creatures now appearing were merely a drop in the bucket.

Moreover...

"The beings corrupted into evil creatures by the authority of the Evil God and turned berserk, many of them were powerful warriors of various races seen on the battlefields of yesteryear. If they emerge, then that’s when the true terror begins."

Mafi’s expression was grave.

Shane knew that this was not Mafi trying to scare him.

Indeed, among the beings driven berserk by the Evil God Lillith, there were definitely some warriors from within their races.

Some of those warriors had even reached the legendary level, elevating their levels to over ninety.

Therefore, those evil creatures were the real threats, and if they escaped, there would be trouble.

However...

"Looking at it this way, those powerful evil creatures haven’t broken free from their seals yet, right?"

Shane used the Identification skill to check the levels of the evil creatures and said so.

"That should be the case," Mafi nodded and answered, "The more powerful the evil creature, the stronger the seal they are under. People from the Old Demon Clan Faction definitely can’t simply undo their seals and release them."

"Is that so?" Shane unleashed another spell, sending a tornado of fire through the corridor, sweeping away the evil creatures, then glanced at Mafi and added, "How about you? Can you still hold on?"

Upon hearing this, Mafi did not answer.

To be exact, she could not answer.

At that moment, Mafi was clutching her chest, seemingly uncomfortable, and her complexion intermittently struggled with distress.

Shane could see that Mafi’s eyes occasionally flashed with dark emotions, somewhat tinged with madness.

Clearly, Mafi was more severely affected by the evil energy after entering the Temple.

The evil energy inside was several times denser than outside, making it difficult for average people to maintain their sanity here.

In contrast, Shane was not affected at all, and even felt more at ease than outside.

"...Why are you completely unaffected by the Evil God’s authority?"

Mafi seemed unable to accept it.

"Even if you ask me that, I don’t know what to tell you."

Shane gave such a response.

In fact, Shane himself was surprised.

Upon entering the Temple and bathing in even more of the evil energy, rather than being more affected, he felt much more relaxed than outside.

Now, Shane had ceased using "Mirror Water" and was simply relying on "Abnormal State Resistance" to fend off the invading evil energy.

Even Shane’s Perception Skills were no longer affected and could be used.

This situation was indeed somewhat strange.

Strange to the point where Shane once suspected whether the sealing on the Holy Sword had also loosened, allowing the power of the Holy Sword to leak out and invisibly protect him, blocking the erosion of the evil energy.

Therefore, Shane checked the Holy Sword and found that the seal on it was still intact.

Given this, the only reason Shane could think of as to why he was unaffected by the authority of the Evil God Lilith was one possibility.

(Is it the power of the Blessing?)

Shane glanced at the effects of his "Supreme God’s Blessing."

==========

"Supreme God’s Blessing"

- Special Skill.

- Receive the protection of the world.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all conditions can be met.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all interference can be avoided.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all appointments can take effect.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all effects can be amplified.

==========

Up to this point, Shane had somewhat figured out the various effects of his Blessing and somewhat understood their power.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all conditions can be met.

This means that some conditions can only be met by the Divine Race, and neither the Human Race nor the Demon Clan can learn certain Skills. With this effect, Shane can meet these learning conditions.

For example, the "Military God" Skill, according to Shane’s research in the Royal Palace Underground Magic Library, is a Skill that only the war-dealing Military God or War God can master. Other Races and even members of the Divine Race cannot master it, but Shane can.

Similarly, the "Magic Guide" Skill, which was mentioned before, is an Upper Amplification Skill that only the God and Demon Clans can master. Shane can also master it, thanks to the Blessing effect of "Limited to the Divine Race, all conditions can be met."

Based on Shane’s guess, not only Skills, but he should also be able to meet any other conditions that can only be fulfilled by members of the Divine Race.

Like certain Magic that can only be learned by the Divine Race, or places that only the Divine Race can enter, Shane can meet these conditions thanks to this Blessing effect. That’s the true nature of this effect.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all interference can be avoided.

As the name suggests, this effect allows Shane to avoid any authority exercised by the Divine Race.

The authority of the Evil God Lilith is certainly fearsome, but as long as she is a Goddess, as long as the power belongs to the authority of the Divine Race, they all have no effect on Shane.

If Shane is not wrong, then probably no Goddess of the Divine Race can use their authority to harm him.

In other words, with this effect, if he were to confront members of the Divine Race, Shane would have a significant advantage. Those of the Divine Race could only attack him with close-combat or Magic that the Human Race could also use, while their proud authority would be entirely ineffective.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all appointments can take effect.

- Limited to the Divine Race, all effects can be amplified.

These two effects were previously unknown to Shane, but he has some understanding of them now.

Because he has been having some mysterious premonitions lately, they tell him what some events will turn into, and whether or not certain things are right or wrong.

This feeling is so similar to what Luoqi has mentioned more than once – "the guidance of Fate."

Considering all members of the Divine Race were born from the Supreme God Ominis, and that Shane’s received the Blessing of Supreme God Ominis, he boldly guessed that the last two effects of his Blessing might mean that he could possess all the Blessing effects of the Divine Race.

This includes the Goddess of Fate.

In other words, Shane essentially possesses the blessings of all the Goddesses of the Divine Race, and he can exert the power of all their blessings.

These are the functions of Shane’s Blessing.

The remaining "protection of the world" effect was something that Shane still hadn’t figured out.

In conclusion, Shane felt that it was because of the power of the Blessing that he could move through the evil energy so freely, without being affected at all.

Outside, the reason why he was somewhat affected was probably because the evil energy had existed for nearly ten thousand years and had weakened considerably, even no longer under the control of the Evil God Lilith. It was more like a natural phenomenon rather than a power of authority, and therefore it didn’t trigger Shane’s Blessing resistance.

After entering the Temple, the evil energy became more concentrated, and naturally, it triggered the resistance of the Blessing, making Shane feel at ease.

Mafi was not so lucky.

"I think you should leave," Shane, not holding much hope, advised as though it was a mere formality, "It’s still possible to get out now."

"I won’t." Mafi was clearly very stubborn, and without further discussion, he refused and continued to walk forward.

"Fine." Shane shrugged, about to move forward when his figure suddenly stopped, and he quickly reached out his hand, grabbing Mafi.

"Ah!" Mafi exclaimed, pulled into Shane’s embrace.

And in that instant...

"Boom—!"

The wall next to the Temple exploded into pieces.

Inside, a figure appeared unsteadily and came before Shane and Mafi.

"Ah ah ah...! Ah ah ah ah...!"

Mad howling erupted from its mouth.

It was only then that Mafi reacted and saw the full appearance of the figure.

Upon seeing it, Mafi’s pupils contracted.

"Oz!"

Indeed, it was the werewolf Oz.

"Ah ah ah ah ah...!"

Werewolf Oz had fallen into madness, howling while his eyes turned blood red, furiously throwing himself towards where the wall had shattered.

Several other figures were there, too.

Seeing these figures, Shane narrowed his eyes and his lips curled upwards.

"At last, I’ve found you, despicable rats..."
