Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Bringing Young Master Lin Home (2)
With a stern expression, Xi Shaoqi didn’t care if the man in front of him was the chief CEO of Vince Airlines, and directly retorted: "Don’t speak so intimately, Nannan is clearly mine, mine."
The words from Third Young Master Xi stunned the group.
An Nan felt utterly powerless, wondering how a nice dinner could turn into the current situation. If she had known, she would rather have stayed home and gone to bed hungry. But now, speaking out would easily offend anyone, so she decided to just play dumb.
Seeing the little woman retreat into her shell, Lin Mubai’s anger dissipated instantly, and he felt amused. What a little woman who knows how to watch the fires from across the river — the argument was clearly triggered by her, yet she simply feigned ignorance now.
He gave a signaling look to Han Xiayang beside him, urging him to intervene. The latter immediately lamented internally why it’s always the thankless task for him, but he still quickly stood up to smooth things over: "Shaoqi, didn’t we agree to have dinner and a drink together? It’s time."
"When did we agree to that?" The speaker had a face full of bewilderment.
"Just hurry up and leave." Han Xiayang quickly dragged the person up and out of the restaurant.
After Xi Shaoqi left, the table quickly fell silent. Lin Mubai did not immediately follow them out but continued to stand behind An Nan’s chair. After a moment, he started to apologize with slight embarrassment: "Sorry, Mr. Zhan." From Han Xiayang’s few words earlier, he had already understood the identity of the man before him and quickly assessed him as a formidable character.
A person’s appearance, smile, and words can all be deceiving, but one’s eyes cannot lie. This man’s outer appearance seemed gentle and elegant, but the occasional flash of ferocity in his eyes was caught by Lin Mubai. He’s not as simple as he looks; it seems he needs to be more cautious around him in the future.
Lin Mubai silently admonished himself, maintaining a calm demeanor throughout.
Zhan Qiyi was also surprised by this man’s extraordinary demeanor and admired him inwardly. A person’s greatness is not in being incapable of being overlooked, but in knowing how to endure; one must learn to draw attention but also know how to be ignored.
The fact that he hadn’t noticed the man standing nearby the entire time naturally attested to the man’s remarkable presence.
Zhan Qiyi managed a slightly awkward smile, but to maintain grace, he forced a warm response: "It’s okay."
Having achieved his goal, Lin Mubai immediately shifted his gaze, nodded slightly to An Nan, and swiftly strode out.
It’s not that he wanted to leave, but if he didn’t go, that thickheaded guy Xi Shaoqi would surely rush back again, making the situation uncontrollable.
It wasn’t until Lin Mubai’s silhouette disappeared that the two at the table withdrew their gaze.
Zhan Qiyi discreetly retracted his gaze, with a deep look in his eyes, pondering something for quite some time before gently asking: "Do you know that person just now?"
"Seems like Shaoqi’s friend." At this moment, An Nan suddenly realized she doesn’t know the little man’s name; her only clue was that he’s Shaoqi’s friend, and she knows nothing else.
