Chapter 25 - The Neighbor’s Wife!
Chapter 25: The Neighbor’s Wife!
Early next morning, Rhodes finished washing up and put on his school uniform. Just as he stepped outside, he ran into the newly moved-in neighbor, the stunning young woman named Tasha.
She was passing by the doorstep with her neatly dressed daughter, seemingly heading toward the bus stop.
“Good morning, Mr. Rhodes,” Tasha greeted warmly.
Seeing Rhodes in his school uniform, her eyes lit up. The snug uniform clung tightly to his body, perfectly highlighting his sculpted muscles, as if they were carved by an artist. Young, strong, and powerful.
Yesterday’s meeting was rushed and it was late so she hadn’t paid much attention. But now, looking closely, she couldn’t help but be amazed at this young man’s physique. Even professional bodybuilders didn’t have such a flawless build.
What on earth did he eat to grow like this?
Tasha was genuinely astonished. Her husband was one of the top psychologists in the Lighthouse Country, usually treating elite members of high society. She had met many social elites, but very few had ever made her heart skip a beat.
Yet, looking at this young boy, she suddenly felt her heart race and her breath quicken. She couldn’t quite explain the sensation. It reminded her of the fiery passion she’d felt when she first fell in love with her husband—those heady, intense days of early romance. Even a simple touch then had filled her with unprecedented excitement.
Tasha touched her slightly flushed cheek, feeling almost incredulous.
Since entering society, her husband had gradually grown distant due to his busy work schedule. It had been a long time since she’d felt anything like this. This was the first time in over a decade she’d experienced such a strange feeling. Just looking at a man who wasn’t her husband stirred a primal desire in her, filling her mind with wild, uncontrollable images. And this man was about the same age as her eldest daughter.
Oh my God! Am I going crazy?
Had her husband’s neglect left her so starved and desperate that she was losing her mind?
“Good morning, Mrs. Tasha!” Rhodes greeted, noticing her strange expression and feeling puzzled.
Why did her gaze seem so odd?
Following her eyes, he realized she was letting her gaze wander over his chest muscles and waist. Rhodes smirked helplessly.
As expected, foreigners could be outrageously bold. They made no effort to hide their desires or thoughts. Where was the modesty and reserve that women were supposed to have?
But he wasn’t really surprised by the scene. After all, the aesthetic standards in Lighthouse Country were quite different from most Asian countries. Compared to pure beauty, most people there admired strong muscles and a healthy body.
This almost beastly sense of beauty fit perfectly with the social atmosphere of Lighthouse Country. It wasn’t uncommon to see stunningly beautiful women paired with muscular, less conventionally handsome men. The “Beauty and the Beast” visual contrast was striking.
His physique, after sacrificing so many werewolves, had reached near perfection. Not to exaggerate, but if he took off his clothes, he could easily grace the cover of a bodybuilding fashion magazine. Even veteran bodybuilding masters with decades of experience would be humbled enough to become his disciples.
He just hadn’t expected this new, gorgeous neighbor to be so bold. But then again, given how open the society in Lighthouse Country was, it wasn’t really surprising. The people there were very frank about sex. Most young people didn’t even feel embarrassed discussing their private lives in front of their parents. For them, such matters were as normal as eating or going to the bathroom—a natural part of everyday life.
“Um, I’m taking my daughter to school. What about you?”
Tasha noticed Rhodes’s gaze and nervously tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, avoiding his eyes. She was certain her face must be bright red. After all, she could feel a burning heat spreading across her cheeks.
Although shy, she didn’t try to hide it like a young girl might. After all, any woman would feel something looking at such a perfect, enviable body. She was simply appreciating it.
“…”
Rhodes looked down at his school uniform in resignation. Wasn’t it obvious enough?
“Oh, right!”
Suddenly remembering something, Rhodes pulled out a talisman he had made to ward off evil spirits from his cross-body bag.
“Since you just moved in, I don’t have a proper gift for you,” he said. “Take this talisman. It’s an heirloom and is said to bring good luck.”
Rhodes crouched down and hung one of the talismans around the little girl’s neck.
“You’re so cute—you’ll surely grow up to be as sexy and beautiful as your mom,” he said casually, complimenting her.
The little girl blushed shyly and hid behind her mother. Tasha’s face flushed deeper at his words.
Sexy?
Was he trying to imply something about her?
