Chapter 91: More Threats Coming

Chapter 91: More Threats Coming

Rhea had been trying to get Alan to talk to her but he had totally ignored her. Not only did he ignore her, but he also ignored anyone who tried to talk to him about her.

That wasn’t the only thing Rhea had to deal with. She had to deal with numerous threats from Sasha. She wasn’t using painted dolls or rotten fruits this time.

She comes face to face with her and threatens.

Sasha always made sure Rhea was alone when she threatened her. It was to make Rhea get scared and back out, but Rhea wasn’t scared, which was a bit surprising to Sasha.

Rhea has finally grown up. Sasha had thought so many times, but she wasn’t going to back out, for as long as she got Alan to be her partner and not Rhea’s.

At first, Rhea thought about pestering Alan continuously until he changed his mind. That was to avoid Sasha’s continuous pestering but after some time she decided it was time to stop.

Alan won’t change his mind, so why waste her time? It is going to be for just a few weeks, and everything will be over.

She spoke to the rest about it but they were against it.

"I don’t think that is a good idea," Maia said. "He seems to be up to something."

"I don’t think he is," Reece defended but he wasn’t sure about it either.

Alan has always been against him getting close to Rhea but now he seems to care less about it. This change, started right after they were partnered.

He had tried so many times to get Alan to tell him why he wouldn’t partner with someone else aside from Rhea. He had also suggested so many times that he could partner with him but he insisted he wasn’t going to change his mind.

"Does anyone have an idea on how to change Alan’s mind?" April asked but no one did.

"I think we should agree with Rhea partnering with him. It’s just for a few weeks right?" Kristen suggested.

Louie nodded. He can’t agree less either. If Alan insists on partnering with Rhea, he doesn’t think there is anything they can do about it. So why waste their time?

After much thought, every other person agreed too. After all, they had started their projects already and Rhea and Alan seemed to be the only ones behind.

"Fine," Maia mumbled. "You can partner with him. But..." She turned to face Reece. "Your friend had better not make things difficult for Rhea or..."

"Or the mermaids won’t let him go," Reece mumbled. "Alright, Maia. Alan won’t do anything to her."

"Who is going to speak to Alan about it?" Kristen asked. "Rhea can’t tell him she is ready, can she?"

"He won’t let her talk. How will she be able to tell him that?" Maia asked.

"Through Reece, I guess," April answered.

"That sounds like a good idea," Louie said. "You are going to do that right?"

Reece nodded. "I can do that. But I still think Rhea should speak to him herself."

"You know he won’t listen to me right?" Rhea answered.

"I know but..."

"Then why will you suggest that?" Maia asked.

"Because she doesn’t have to speak to him directly. There are..."

Rhea furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?"

"I would like to know how," Maia said.

"I want to know too," April answered.

"Are girls always impatient?" Reece mumbled.

"I think they are," Kristen mumbled too and Louie nodded.

"What are you guys talking about?" Maia asked.

"We aren’t saying anything," Kristen waved quickly. "Reece, what were you saying again?"

"I said Rhea doesn’t have to speak to him directly. There are..."

"Can you go straight to the point?" Rhea answered impatiently.

The look on Rhea, April, and Maia’s faces made Reece chuckle. Why are they so impatient?

"She can send him a message instead," Reece answered.

"How am I supposed to get his number? What if he asked me where I got it from?" Rhea asked.

"On the board," Reece answered. "Every student’s parent’s number is beside the student’s name. Did you not notice that?"

Rhea furrowed her brows. There were numbers on the board? She did not notice that.

"I guess you did not," Reece answered. "Well, Alan’s number is there. Since his parents are not with him. He left his number instead."

"I have been meaning to ask," Maia began. "Where are your pa..."

"Maia, did you not say you wanted ice cream a while ago?" Kristen cut her short. "How about we get it on our way home."

April noticed what Kristen was trying to do and decided to help him.

"I want one too," April said.

Maia stared at them. Why are they trying to stop her from talking?

Maia frowned. "Why?..."

"Rhea, I think Reece is right. You can try sending him a message," Louie helped out. "So, do you want to get the number from the board or directly from Reece?"

Rhea furrowed her brows. She also does not understand why they are trying to prevent Maia from asking questions.

"Is there a problem?" She asked.

"Of course, there isn’t any problem. You should get the number from Reece. I think that is the best," Louie said. He stared at his wristwatch. "I think we should head home now."

"I think so too," Kristen answered, and that ended the conversation.

Kristen left with April and Maia, leaving Louie, Reece, and Rhea.

"What just happened?" Rhea asked.

Reece smiled. "Maia was about to ask about my parents but Kristen stopped her."

Rhea muttered an oh. She has always been curious about that too but she never tried to ask. She doesn’t want to irritate Reece by asking that. Rhea has also suspected that Reece’s loved one affected by that was affected by the bluestone could be his mother.

She doesn’t know why but that is how she feels.

"I am sorry, Reece," Rhea said. "Maia can be so straightforward sometimes."

"You mean every time?" Louie mumbled.

Reece smiled. "Come on, it’s not that deep. Maia is only curious."

Although Reece had a smile on his face, Rhea could see through it.

He is sad.

Louie seemed to have noticed it too. "Reece, I think you should go home. I will take Rhea home."

Reece nodded. "See you in school tomorrow. Rhea, I will send Alan’s number to you. Just make sure you use your father’s number to send him a message."

Rhea nodded. "I will."

Reece waved at them and left. "I think we should leave too," Louie said and Rhea nodded.

They left the school building and headed to the parking lot.

"I haven’t seen Celia in a while now," Louie said.

"She is kind of busy," Rhea answered. "You know this is her last session in school."

Louie nodded. Myles has been quite busy too. He doesn’t even have time to help him find his powers.

"Rhea," Louie called. "Do you think I will ever find my powers? What if I don’t?"

It was so sudden it made Rhea stop. Why did he ask that out of the blue?

"Why would you think that?" She asked.

Louie shrugged. He doesn’t know. He just has that feeling.

"What if I can’t protect you, Rhea? What if I can’t protect my loved ones?"

"Louie, I don’t want you to think that way. You will find your powers and protect..."

"Rhea?" Someone called and she turned.

It was Poppy. Why hasn’t she gone home yet?

"Poppy?" Rhea mumbled.

"Hi, Rhea," Poppy waved. "Are you just going home?"

Rhea nodded. "Yes. You are just going home too?"

Poppy nodded. "Is Louie’s driver going to drop you off at home?"

Rhea nodded. "Yes."

"My dad’s driver can’t make it to school. I don’t think I can get the bus early and it is getting late. Louie and I stay close. Can he drop me home?" Poppy asked.

"You both stay close?" Rhea asked.

Louie nodded. They do.

"Then I think she can come with us, right Louie?" Rhea asked.

Louie stared at Rhea. She wants him to take her home? But he doesn’t feel comfortable with Poppy going with them.

"You won’t say no. Will you?" Rhea whispered and Louie sighed.

"Fine."

Poppy joined Louie and Rhea in the car and the driver drove to Rhea’s home.

"Is that your house?" Poppy pointed when the car stopped.

"Yes it is," Rhea answered.

"I see," Poppy mumbled.

Rhea furrowed her brows. "What did you say?"

Poppy shook her head. "Nothing. See you in school tomorrow."

Rhea left the car and waved at Louie. "Bye, Louie."

Louie waved back before the car finally drove off. Rhea entered the house and decided to head to her room. She was still on the stairs when she heard the ringing of the bell.

She returned to the door to see who it was. She did not see anyone through the pinhole.

Maybe it was just her imagination. She thought.

She turned to leave but heard the bell again. Rhea decided to open the door and see. She opened it but there was no one. She stepped out of the house and hit her leg. It was a box.

What is that? She wondered.

She picked it up. On it was written ’To Rhea from Sasha’.

Rhea furrowed ger brows. How did Sasha know her house?

She decided to open the box. The content in it made her throw the box away in fear.

It was a doll with a blood stain; Rhea was certain it wasn’t a paint this time. On the doll, was her picture. It was crossed with red ink. There was a word on it; the same as the one on the previous dolls she had received in school.

This was slightly different though. It also had another word on it. ’Aqua’.

This made Rhea begin to doubt whether this was really Sasha’s handiwork.

If it is, how did she know she is the Aqua? Who is Sasha?
