WHEN THE SEA CALLS -
Chapter 87: It is not just a necklace
Chapter 87: It is not just a necklace
The thought of Sapphire leaving just like Aqua and Aquamarine did, made Rhea groan.
Why is everyone leaving? What if Aquariel has to leave too?
"I am not leaving, Rhea. I am still a part of you. I was created by the bluestone just like Aquariel was. I am the courageous part of you, created to merge with your water guardian. Although I am a part of you, I can no longer be just your thought."
Rhea sighed. At least she still gets to keep Sapphire with her. But how will she communicate with Sapphire if she is no longer her thought?
"Through your water guardian, Rhea," Sapphire answered.
Rhea sighed. How is she supposed to communicate with her water guardian? She doesn’t know how.
"It’s going to be easy," Sapphire assured her. "Aquariel is your water guardian, you just have to find a way to communicate with her. You are the one to decide that. I see Aquamarine left you a necklace. You can use that."
How? Rhea wondered.
"You don’t have to worry about that," Sapphire answered. "I will take care of that after I merge with her."
Rhea nodded. She will trust Sapphire on that.
A dim blue light left Rhea’s body, blinking.
That must be Sapphire. Rhea thought.
The dim light turned into a stone just like the bluestone but with a dimmer light. A force pulled Rhea’s water guardian into the stone formed. The stone finally rested on Rhea’s necklace and everywhere was quiet.
Maia and April stared in surprise and also in confusion. Rhea wasn’t saying anything to them and they did not ask her any questions either.
Rhea felt a weight on her neck and she tried to pull off the necklace.
Why does it feel so heavy?
"Can you help me remove this?" Rhea gestured to Maia and April.
They moved closer to her and tried to pull it off but they could not.
"I don’t think we can remove it," April said.
"Why do you want to pull it off?" Maia asked.
"I..."
The weight Rhea felt was lifted up and she felt better. At the same time, April succeeded in removing the necklace from Rhea’s neck.
"Here you go." she handed the necklace to Rhea.
Rhea stared at the necklace. It has a bluestone on it which wasn’t there before. It was the same as the one formed a while ago.
Is that Sapphire? Rhea wondered. How is she supposed to communicate with her? How is she supposed to communicate with Aquariel too?
"Sapphire?" Rhea mumbled.
A blue dim light was emitted from the bluestone which increased after a while. In front of Rhea stood a water figure. It was a blue one this time.
Rhea furrowed her brows. Why is it blue?
It stayed blue for a while before becoming transparent.
"Hi, Rhea," the water raised its hand.
Rhea blinked. That is Sapphire’s voice...Sapphire? There wasn’t any reply from Sapphire and that made Rhea sigh. She seemed to like it when she was in herthoughts.
"Hi, Aqua," Rhea heard again.
It was a different voice this time. Rhea knew immediately that it must be her water guardian’s voice.
"Aquariel," Rhea mumbled.
"Who is Aquariel?" April asked.
"My water guardian," Rhea answered.
"Do you have a water guardian?" April asked.
"I think all Aqua does," Rhea answered.
"Message? For me?" Rhea heard the second voice.
Is Aquariel still learning how to speak? Rhea wondered.
"I don’t have a message for you, Aquariel. I hope we get along with each other," Rhea answered.
April turned to face Maia. "Do you understand what is going on here? Is she communicating with that water figure? I can’t seem to understand a thing."
Maia shook her head. "I don’t understand a thing either. I am as confused as you are."
"Rhea seems to understand what is going on," April said. She pointed. "See her communicating with the water figure, but I can only hear her voice. We might have to ask her for an explanation later."
Maia nodded. "I think so too."
Rhea stopped talking. April and Maia looked at her, wondering what she planned to do next but Rhea seemed to have nothing to do.
Rhea was confused too. How is she supposed to send Sapphire and Aquariel back? How is she supposed to call them out differently?
"Sapphire?" Rhea called.
"Who do you think is Sapphire?" April asked.
Maia shrugged. "I don’t know. Do you have an idea?"
April shook her head. "I don’t either."
"Rhea?" Rhea heard Sapphire’s familiar voice.
She smiled. Sapphire is still here.
"How am I supposed to send you back?" Rhea asked.
"You don’t have to. When the merging process is completed, I will leave," Sapphire answered.
Rhea furrowed her brows. "Does that mean I won’t be able to see you again?"
"Of course you will. But not as Sapphire but as a part of Aquariel." Sapphire answered.
Rhea groaned. Sapphire is leaving too. But she needs to keep Sapphire’s name.
She thought about merging Aquariel and Sapphire’s names together but she decided against it.
She would call her necklace Sapphire. She thought. That way Sapphire’s name can remain.
"How long will the merging process take?" Rhea asked.
"An hour," Sapphire answered.
Rhea nodded. She has just an hour to spend with Sapphire.
"I know you are still here, Sapphire, but... I am going to miss you, as Sapphire."
"Rhea? April? Maia?" Rhea heard Celia’s voice.
Is Celia coming to the kitchen? What if she sees Aquariel? Wouldn’t that scare her? Even if she is not scared, she can’t let April and Maia know Celia knows about her already.
"April? Maia? Can you try to stop Celia from coming in? Until I find a way to send Aquariel back."
April and Maia nodded. They headed to the door to stop Celia from coming in.
"Sapphire do you have a way to send Aquariel away?" Rhea asked.
"I don’t know," Sapphire answered. "But I think that will depend on you. Aquariel belongs to you. You should create a way to send her away and also let her appear to you when you want."
Rhea furrowed her brows. She should create her way of sending her off and making her appear to her? How is she supposed to do that? What if it doesn’t work?
"Did Aquamarine not tell you anything?" Sapphire asked.
Rhea shook her head. She can’t remember any. Aquamarine only told her every water guardian is unique in their own way and they work based on their master’s power.
"She told me they work based on their master’s power," Rhea answered.
"Aquariel will work based on your power, Rhea. She will work based on the way you train her. You just have to communicate with her."
Rhea nodded. She thinks she understands now.
Rhea thought of the best way to send Aquariel away and also call her when she needs her. She knew she needed to find a unique way best known to just the two of them.
Rhea smiled. She knows what to do.
"Aquariel," she called.
"Yes, Aqua," she heard Aquariel’s voice.
"When I flick my finger, I need you to go back into the stone. And when I flick it again, you have to come out," Rhea said.
"Yes, Aqua," Aquariel answered.
Rhea flicked her finger and Aquariel disappeared. She flicked her finger again and she appeared.
Rhea smiled. It seems to work well. But what if Aquariel responds to other people when they flicker their fingers? What...
"Rhea, Celia is looking for you," Maia announced.
It was to alert Rhea that Celia was about to enter the kitchen.
She will have to think about that later. Rheathought.
Rhea flicked her finger quickly and Aquariel left, just in time before Celia walked in.
Celia looked around. She knew something was going on and they were trying to hide it from her.
"Rhea," she called.
Rhea waved. "Hi."
"What is going on? Why did April and Maia try to stop me from coming in?" Celia asked.
"Did we?" April mumbled.
Maia chuckled. "We did."
"Where is Rosa?" Rhea asked, changing the topic. "Is she in the living room?"
"Rhea?! Are you trying to change the topic?"
Rhea shook her head. "I am not. I..."
Celia’s eyes brightened up. "Is that a necklace? It’s so beautiful."
"You like it?" Rhea asked.
"I do. Can I touch it?"
Rhea nodded. "Sure."
Celia touched the necklace and smiled. "It’s beautiful."
April and Maia moved closer to touch the necklace too.
"Where did you get it from? I want one too," Celia said.
Rhea chuckled. How is she supposed to tell Celia in front of April and Maia that the necklace is not like the usual ones?
"Louie sent it," Rhea answered.
"Louie? I will ask him to get me one too," Celia answered.
April and Maia stared at Rhea. They also did not know where the necklace came from.
Maybe Louie bought it for her. Maia thought.
But now it is no longer just a necklace. April thought.
"I think I want one too," April answered.
"Me too," Maia said.
"Do you know the name I gave to her? I mean it?" Rhea asked. They shook their heads. "Sapphire," Rhea answered.
Celia furrowed her brows. "Sapphire?"
"Isn’t that the name she called a while ago?" April whispered.
Maia nodded. "It is."
Rhea nodded. "Isn’t that a nice name?"
Celia nodded. "It is."
"We should go back to the living room, Celia," Rhea said. "We can’t keep Rosa waiting."
They nodded in agreement. They really should not keep Rosa waiting.
Rhea wore the necklace around her neck and followed them out of the kitchen.
