WHEN THE SEA CALLS -
Chapter 86: Meeting with Aquariel
Chapter 86: Meeting with Aquariel
Rhea decided to let go of the thought and focused on getting ready, so she wouldn’t keep Leslie waiting when she finally showed up.
Celia is not going to tell her. She was sure of that. She can just find it out in her own way.
She left her room after getting dressed to join Celia in the living room.
"Your food is over there," Celia said, pointing at the dining table.
Rhea went to the dining table to eat while Celia continued to watch a movie on her phone. When Rhea was done eating, she joined Celia on the couch. She decided to call Louie again; he picked up this time.
"Hi, Louie," she mumbled.
"Hi," Louie answered. "Where have you been? Have been calling you."
"I went on a stroll," Rhea replied.
They spoke for some time before Rhea ended the call. Rhea began to scroll through her phone while staring at the wall clock constantly.
Ding dong. The doorbell rang.
"I think it’s Leslie," Celia said, standing up to open the door. She blinked slightly. "Rhea," she called. "Can you not let Leslie know that I know you’ve got a tail?"
Rhea furrowed her brows. "Why?"
"I will tell you later. Just promise me."
Rhea nodded. "I promise."
Celia went to open the door. "Maia? April?"
Rhea furrowed her brows. Maia and April are here?
She stood up and walked to the door.
"Hi, Celia," Maia waved smiling.
"Hi," April waved too.
"Hi," Celia waved back.
Rhea popped her head and waved. "Hi, Maia, hi, April. I did not expect to see you. Where is your mom?"
"In the car." Maia pointed. "Are you girls ready?"
"Sure," Rhea answered. "Celia, let’s get our bags."
"Come in," Celia gestured to April and Maia.
They entered the living room, Celia and Rhea got their bags and were ready to leave.
"Have you checked the lights, Celia?" Rhea asked.
"I have. Did you turn off the light in your room?"
"I think I did, but let me go up to confirm it. Maia, April, do you want to come with me?"
April and Maia followed Rhea to her room.
"Is this your room?" Maia asked. "It’s beautiful."
April nodded. "It is."
They left Rhea’s room after confirming that Rhea had unplugged the suckets and switched off the lights. They joined Celia in the living room and they left the house together.
"Isn’t that Reece?" Maia pointed.
"Hi, girls," Reece waved.
"Hi," Celia, Maia, and April waved.
"Rhea? Are you leaving already?" Reece asked.
Rhea nodded. "Yes."
"See you when you get back," Reece waved.
"Bye," Rhea waved.
After Reece left, they joined Leslie in the car. Celia and Rhea exchanged greetings with Leslie before she drove off. The drive to Leslie’s place wasn’t a quiet one; the girls had a lot to talk about.
Seeing them get along with themselves, Leslie smiled. She won’t have to worry about that.
She stopped by a grocery store to get a few things before they continued their journey. When they finally got to the house, Maia smiled.
"Home, sweet home."
"Maia, I am going to see Mira," Leslie said. "Make Celia and Rhea feel at home."
Maia assured her mother that she would take good care of Celia and Rhea before they left the car.
"Celia," Leslie called. "Your dad told me your friend will be staying with the Williams family. Are you going to visit her?"
Celia nodded. "I will go when she calls me."
Leslie smiled. "The Williams are good people. Make sure you are back before dinner. And also invite your friend over sometime."
Celia nodded. "I will."
"Maia, don’t take Rhea to the sea," Leslie mumbled.
"I won’t Mom," Maia answered.
April and Maia took the things bought from the grocery store while Celia and Rhea took their bags.
"Bye, Mom," Maia waved.
April, Rhea, and Celia waved too. Leslie drove off and they entered the house.
"Welcome home," Maia said. "We will show you to your rooms."
Celia had a room to herself while Rhea decided to share a room with Maia. Celia could tell why Rhea wanted to share a room with Maia so she did not try to make Rhea stay with her.
"So what are we going to do now?" April asked.
"We can..."
Celia’s phone began to ring. It was Rosa calling. She picked it up.
"Hi, Rosa," Celia said.
"Celia, are you there now?" Rosa asked.
"I am. What about you?"
"I just came in. Can I come over? Or do you want to come over?" Rosa asked.
Celia took her phone away from her ear and covered it with her hand.
"Can Rosa come over?" She mumbled.
"Of course, she can," Maia answered.
Celia placed the phone in her ear. "You can."
"I will be on my way," Rosa answered. "Can you come out and wave, so I can see you."
"On my way," Celia answered. She stood up. "I am going to bring Rosa."
"We will go with you," Maia said.
They followed Celia to meet Rosa and waited until she showed up. Celia waved at her when she saw Rosa. Rosa waved back too. She walked up to them.
"Rhea? It’s been a while," she said. She waved. "Hi, April and Maia."
Rhea, Maia, and April waved back. "Hi."
"Please, come in," Maia answered. They entered the house and Maia offered Rosa a seat. "Please feel at home," she said.
Celia sat with Rosa and they began to chat. Rhea, April, and Maia headed to the kitchen to get something to eat and drink.
They got some bottles of milk and cookies. They also got four glass cups. Rhea took the cups to rinse them, while Maia and April went to the living room with the bottles of milk and cookies.
Rhea opened the tap and began to rinse the cups. The tap suddenly stopped running. Rhea stared at the tap. She wasn’t surprised this time, though she wondered why it stopped again.
The water began to run again. Rhea sighed and continued to rinse the cups. She saw the water increase on its own, filling up the sink. It got to the brim and began to run over. Rhea tried to close the tap but she couldn’t.
"Maia? April?" She called but there wasn’t any answer.
The ground was filled with water now. Rhea had thought it would flow out of the kitchen but it did not. She ran to the door and peeped out. "Maia?" She called out again.
Maia turned. "Rhea? Did you call me?"
"Come please," Rhea answered.
Maia stood up and went to meet Rhea. She entered the kitchen.
"Rhea, what is the problem?"
"Look?" Rhea pointed. "The tap, I can’t stop it."
Maia moved closer to the tap and tried to off it but she couldn’t. She could see the water on the floor too. She also noticed the water wasn’t flowing out of the kitchen. She stared at it for a while and sighed.
"What is the problem?" Rhea asked.
"I don’t know yet," Maia answered. "But let’s see what will happen. I will go and get April."
Maia turned to leave but Rhea stopped her. "I think you should go with two cups for Celia and Rosa, so it doesn’t look suspicious."
Maia took two cups and left the kitchen. She gave the cups to Celia and Rosa.
"April, come help us out with something," Maia said.
April followed Maia to the kitchen. "What is this?" April pointed to the floor. "Why did you not off the tap?" She moved to the tap and tried to off it but she couldn’t. "What..."
"It’s not going to go off, April," Rhea answered.
"Why?"
Maia shook her head. "We don’t know yet."
"Then you should call the..."
"I don’t think the tap is faulty," Maia said cutting April’s sentence. "I think it has something to do with Rhea. But we don’t know what it is."
"What are we going to do then?" April asked.
Maia shrugged. "We just have to wait and..."
"Look," Rhea pointed. "The water is rising."
They watched it rise from the floor. The one in the sink rose up too.
What is going on? Rhea wondered.
"Do you think it’s about to form something?" Maia asked.
"Maybe it wants to pass a message," April answered.
She looked so excited about it. Rhea watched keenly as the water took a human form.
Could this be her water guardian? She wondered. Has she finally come to see her?
"Did that water just take a girl’s form?" April asked.
Maia nodded. "I think it did."
The water moved closer to Rhea and began to move in a circle.
"That is your water guardian, Rhea," Sapphire spoke up.
It’s been a while since she last spoke to Sapphire.
"Sapphire," Rhea mumbled.
"Did you miss me?" Sapphire asked.
Rhea nodded. Of course, she does.
"Why is it running in a circle?" April asked.
"I don’t know," Maia answered. "But I think it has something to do with Rhea."
The water stopped moving and stood in front of Rhea.
"You should call her by the name you want to give her," Sapphire answered.
"Aquariel?" Rhea mumbled.
"Aquariel? That is a nice name," Sapphire answered.
There was a sudden wave, no one knew where it came from.
"I am going to merge with her," Sapphire said.
What? Rhea was surprised. Does that mean she won’t get to speak to Sapphire again?
