Chapter 1792: Section 1793: Arrow of the Defeated

Even Muse was unclear, so who would know?

In response to everyone’s curiosity, Muse did not answer but instead took out his usual walking stick and gently tapped the floor.

The rumbling sound accompanied by the clicking of gears revealed a medium-sized mechanical device slowly appearing before everyone’s eyes.

"This is..."

Horus seemed to recognize the device and was about to name it when a groan interrupted him.

It was Melisa, who had been unconscious earlier, now waking up. She rubbed her dizzy forehead while groaning and sitting up. Coincidentally, she was directly facing the metal long table upon which Rosen’s head was placed.

Melisa stared blankly at Rosen’s head, as fragmented memories flashed continuously in her mind. The shocking images made her whole body start to tremble.

Just as Melisa seemed about to be trapped in her own thoughts due to fright again, Rosen opened his eyes and softly said, "Melisa."

Melisa’s expression still held traces of fear, and upon hearing Rosen’s voice, she hadn’t had time to turn her feeling into joy.

Rosen looked at Melisa, who usually never reveals emotions, and softly spoke: "Don’t worry, I won’t be dying just yet."

Over here, Melisa and Rosen entered a low conversation; meanwhile, Angel and others quietly watched Muse’s operation.

This was a very complex mechanical device, with a beetle-like outer shell, but topped with a "unicorn horn," which began to emit a faint light under Muse’s manipulation.

"What kind of machinery is this?" Greya softly sought confirmation from Angel beside her.

Angel was seeing it for the first time as well; however, some of its mechanical structure looked somewhat like... a Signal Tower?

Antonio confirmed Angel’s guess: "This is a Mini Signal Tower."

Fifty years ago, Sky Mechanical City developed a Signal Tower for ultra-long-distance communication, slightly bridging the information gap within the Southern Domain. However, constructing Signal Towers was exceedingly costly, with some Wizard Families exhausting their wealth unable to build even one, so it was not widely used. Only some medium to large-scale Witcher Organizations would construct Signal Towers.

According to Antonio, generally, Signal Towers are fixed structures, but Muse felt this was too inconvenient, thinking a portable version would be more convenient.

Thus, the Mini Signal Tower was born.

However, although portable, the cost of the Mini Signal Tower was even higher, making it impossible to popularize. Muse made one himself and found it somewhat burdensome.

If even Muse cannot bear it, let alone others.

Antonio: "To create a tool that is portable, can facilitate ultra-long-distance information exchange, and is not costly, it’s unknown when it will be achieved."

Antonio’s lament made Angel think of radio; if radio wave propagation could be achieved, the problem would be solved. Unfortunately, the Wizards’ Realm cannot replicate the glory of radio, possibly due to the influence of Primordial Magic on electromagnetic fields or perhaps other reasons.

The technology side aiming to break another civilization’s shackles faces too many issues. At least for now, it’s not feasible.

"Maybe it will be realized soon." At this point, Sanders suddenly spoke.

Sanders’ words made everyone turn their eyes towards him, even Muse, operating the Mini Signal Tower, was drawn to pay attention.

Sanders was not an Alchemist, but his tone seemed very certain; perhaps he had witnessed a similar technology?

And those who could allow Sanders to witness similar technology seemed not numerous. At present, only one person was on the scene.

"Could it be, Angel, you’ve already found a way to break through the transmission barrier?" Muse’s eyes glimmered as he looked at Angel.

Angel understood that Sanders was referring to using the Wilderness of Dreams for ultra-long-distance information exchange.

Seeing Muse’s inquisitive gaze, Angel thought for a moment and said, "I recently have some ideas, albeit approaching the solution from another angle, but there are still some challenges unresolved."

In other words, it was still in the research stage. Muse nodded understandingly: "If you need help, feel free to contact me. I am very much looking forward to your research findings."

Antonio also chimed in: "Mr. Pat, should the first outcome published at the Research and Development Institute be solving the transmission barrier, I believe it would garner immense attention."

Muse added casually: "Perhaps, the display stand would even be set on the top floor of the Research and Development Institute for you."

Angel chuckled, not saying anything more.

The topic quieted, and Muse’s Mini Signal Tower finally received information.

A light screen appeared in front of everyone.

Everyone looked at the light screen with curiosity, speculating whom Muse contacted? Who would know about that Mysterious Object?

Amidst the flickering halo, a figure slowly emerged on the light screen.

It was a proud lady, sitting quietly in a pure white hall, holding a cup of steaming tea.

White hair, icy eyes, cold elegance.

Seeing this person’s appearance, a name flashed through everyone’s mind simultaneously: Twilight King!

The person Muse contacted was Isabel, who returned to Black Castle after a millennium!

Angel suddenly understood; Muse was referring to Isabel. Although Isabel existed as merely a residual soul, her memories weren’t lost; she had long journeyed across the Origin World.

Angel remembered that the secret soul whispers he acquired were obtained by Isabel through some Mysterious Object in the Origin World.

The Seed Sect itself originated from the Origin World, so Isabel indeed might know some Mysterious Objects from the Origin World.

Isabel raised her eyes and looked at the images on the light screen, somewhat surprised to see so many people, among them some very familiar faces.

Isabel did not immediately inquire why Muse contacted her but nodded towards Angel and Sanders first, then focused attentively on Muse.

"I wonder what matter Dean Muse contacts me for?"

Muse did not hesitate, quickly describing the issue of the "arrow." To ensure accurate description, he even had Angel use an Illusion Technique to recreate the Sky Mechanical City incident.

After hearing Muse’s account, Isabel seemed to remember something and fell silent for a moment.

"From the illusion you showed, I cannot discern much. However, regarding arrow-type Mysterious Objects, I did hear of one with an effect similar to what you described."

Isabel’s words brightened the eyes of everyone.

"During my travels in the Origin World, I once learned that an organization named ’Seventy-Seven Red Sox Team’ acquired a Mysterious Object."

"This Mysterious Object is called ’Hotep’s Fury,’ also known as—"

"Arrow of the Defeated."
