Chapter 1775: Section 1776 Oupulia
"Seed, seed..." Rosen repeatedly muttered this term softly to himself. In the past, this word would definitely not elicit any reaction from him. But now, it seems to have become a curse, making him feel anxious whenever he utters it.
Now, Rosen finally understood why Angel took such care to relay this matter to him.
Because this matter is incredibly important!
Or perhaps the Seed incident represents a severe upheaval for the entire Wizard Realm. However, the most terrifying part is that this matter cannot be spoken of to many people.
It is a harrowing nightmare hidden within the Mist.
Unaskable, unthinkable, unshareable, unimaginable, and absolutely not to be attempted.
And such a dreadful secret has surfaced in Yirong Country, which is akin to placing an uncontrollable ticking bomb beside the Sky Mechanical City.
Rosen simply could not imagine how terrifying the disaster would be if the Seed faith were to erupt in Sky Mechanical City.
Sky Mechanical City is one of the biggest hubs of gold flow in the Southern Domain Wizard World. It practically gathers the elite talents of the entire Wizard realm, with all the major Witcher Organizations and Wizard Families having a presence here. If the "Seed Disaster" erupts here, it could swiftly erode the entire Wizard realm.
It must be stopped! And we must take every possible measure to stop it!
Rosen is usually a person with an extremely cold temperament, but today’s knowledge stirred a strong obsession within him.
An obsession that inevitably must be fulfilled. Otherwise, Sky Mechanical City could be overturned by the "Seed Disaster."
Even though no sign is visible yet, Rosen had already resolved in his heart to extinguish this disaster in its cradle.
Thinking of this, Rosen quickly opened the console, intending to contact the high echelons of Sky Mechanical City for a meeting. But just as he was about to press the "convene" button, he stopped.
Even though the high ranks of Sky Mechanical City are his confidants, people’s minds change easily. It’s better not to tell these people about this matter.
Rosen swiftly shut down the console and instead opened the communicator. Soon, a faint blue ethereal Spirit appeared before him.
"City Lord Rosen, and Mr. Pat, is there something you need?" Antonio looked at Rosen and Angel, noting their identical solemn expressions, prompting him to forgo the usual meet-and-greet formalities and directly inquire about the reason.
"Is Muse still in seclusion?" Rosen asked.
Antonio gave a definitive answer.
Rosen pondered: "Then let’s not disturb him for now; telling you will be the same."
Rosen looked at Angel, signaling whether he could share this matter with Antonio. Angel shrugged indifferently; since Rosen had already contacted Antonio, it meant he was resolute, and regardless if he asked or not, the final answer would be the same.
Rosen swiftly narrated the background and consequences of the "Seed matter," and upon hearing it, Antonio fell into prolonged silence.
"I see." Antonio now somewhat understood why they were so serious. This issue indeed is significant. Considering its long-term impact, it’s by no means lesser than the earlier information Angel shared about Ivor, perhaps the implications might be broader.
A mysterious object whose body is unknown, yet it makes Sky Mechanical City act like facing an enemy. Antonio couldn’t help but sigh inwardly; this is the power of the mysterious.
"What does the City Lord plan to do?" Antonio looked at Rosen.
"It’s still too early to discuss what actions to take. We must first gather more information about the Seed followers and those from the Outer Domain."
As for how to obtain this intelligence,
currently, apart from conducting a thorough search, seeking the help of Prophet Wizards comes to mind.
Conducing a thorough search might easily arouse more curiosity, accelerating the spread of the Seed matter. So eliminating this, the only remaining option is seeking Prophet Wizards, relatively secretive and appropriate.
Without hesitation, Rosen opened the console and spoke to the outside, "Notify Oupulia to come to me."
Oupulia is a Prophet Wizard inhabiting the opposite quarters, who received Muse’s favor years back and came to Ashliea Comprehensive College to serve as a teaching professor to repay Muse. However, he prefers calling himself a follower of Muse.
After calling Oupulia, Rosen further spoke to Antonio, "I will shortly open the third level of Magic Energy Eye. I hope you can allocate some power to infiltrate it, assisting me in monitoring the entire Sky Mechanical City."
This was the primary reason Rosen told this matter to Antonio because Antonio’s strongest attribute is his Perception.
Antonio nodded, "Understood."
"If there is any information resembling the Seed, you must notify me immediately. In urgent circumstances, you also have priority for handling."
Soon after, Oupulia arrived at the metallic hall where Rosen was.
This was a man who looked very young on the outside but with exceedingly old eyes. He held a regular wooden staff as he walked in from outside.
Those seemingly ordinary few steps looked unremarkable, but in Angel’s eyes, each pause seemed to reside precisely at the intersecting lines of fate arranged in rows of stars.
This mystical feeling would ensure no one would mistake his identity.
Upon entering, Oupulia noticed Angel and Antonio were present, showing a slight surprise.
The heaviness of the atmosphere puzzled Oupulia as to why Rosen had summoned him today.
Oupulia gently planted his staff, intending to glimpse the River of Fate’s flow direction, but ultimately couldn’t arrive at a clear answer, knowing only that today’s matter could be extraordinary.
Oupulia gently nodded to Angel and Antonio before focusing his gaze on Rosen, "Fate tells me that the City Lord’s purpose of summoning me should be extraordinary."
"Indeed, it’s a very important matter." Rosen was saying this while handing a meticulously crafted parchment to Oupulia.
Oupulia took the parchment and glanced at it, a slight trace of questioning flashed in his eyes.
This was a contract bearing the name of Great Will.
Using the name of Great Will generally means very severe contracts. But as Oupulia carefully reviewed the contract terms, he found that the terms weren’t actually harsh.
Overall, there was only one term: today’s events must not be transmitted by any means.
In other words, this is a confidentiality contract.
But to use such a high-standard contract, it was the first time Oupulia had seen it.
This again confirmed the display of the River of Fate, indicating the matter for which Rosen summoned him was remarkably significant.
Rosen noticed Oupulia holding the contract for long without action, and he softly said, "If you don’t intend to sign, you can."
Rosen did not plan on forcing Oupulia; although Prophet Wizards are rare, they do exist elsewhere. Oupulia merely shares a closer rapport with Sky Mechanical City.
Oupulia smiled faintly and quickly left his own exclusive Marking on the contract.
"No reason to refuse. Though Fate tells me the matter is serious, there’s no warning about my safety. Knowing a bit more under the premise of minimal risk isn’t wrong."
