Chapter 1772: Section 1773 Not a Coincidence
The communicator, thin as a cicada’s wing, slowly displayed a faint blue human-shaped light spirit above it.
"Good evening, Mr. Pat." The voice was as elegant as ever, reminiscent of a traditional butler from a noble family.
"Anthony, there are some things I want to ask you about." Angel got straight to the point without any small talk.
He had two matters he wanted to inquire about: first, the current location of the "Mechanical Beast Emperor" Rosen, and the current situation of Dean Muse.
Since Angel planned to inform the upper echelons of Sky Mechanical City about the Seed, he naturally thought of both City Lords Rosen and Muse. He leaned more towards Muse, as compared to the cold and indifferent Rosen, he was more familiar with Muse.
Unfortunately, according to Anthony, Muse was still in seclusion and had closed external communications. To contact him, one would have to forcibly break into the Creation Hall.
However, the Creation Hall was filled with mechanisms, and breaking in would be very unpleasant unless one had top-notch skills or strength like City Lord Rosen.
Since Dean Muse was still in seclusion, Angel had no choice but to seek out Rosen.
Upon learning from Anthony that Rosen was currently at the Infinite Battle Tower, Angel immediately changed his flight direction, heading towards the towering spire in the distance.
During the journey, Angel maintained contact with Anthony, as there was one more thing he wanted Anthony to confirm.
"Where was Sky Mechanical City drifting about half a month ago?" Angel asked.
Anthony didn’t understand why Angel was in such a hurry to find Rosen or why he was asking such an odd question, but seeing Angel’s serious expression, he dared not delay.
After thinking for a moment, Anthony replied, "Half a month ago, it should have been near Changnao Town on the Bermel Continent."
"Is Changnao Town far from the North Sea?"
"Changnao Town is a port town situated on the long coast of the North Sea’s middle path."
Hearing Anthony’s answer, Angel’s eyes flashed with understanding: "Then Changnao Town must not be too far from Paradow, right?"
Anthony nodded: "Not far, Changnao Town is a satellite town of Paradow, about four hundred kilometers from Paradow’s main district."
Angel closed his eyes and murmured softly: "Just as I thought."
"Mr. Pat, is there a problem that needs solving?" As the guardian spirit of the Research and Development Institute, it was Anthony’s duty to share the burdens of its members.
"There are indeed some matters, but I am at the Infinite Battle Tower now. I will tell you if there’s an opportunity later, or you can inquire with Rosen later." After saying this, Angel bid Anthony good night and directly turned off the communicator.
After closing the communicator, Angel’s eyes were filled with deep thought.
Helen had previously mentioned that they encountered the strange group about three hundred miles north of Sky Mechanical City. With the position Anthony just provided being slightly calculated, it’s known that they were just under two hundred miles from Paradow at that time.
Angel didn’t believe this was a coincidence.
That group was definitely connected to those Emergence faith followers in the old district of Paradow, and as Angel suspected, they were likely the source of the Emergence appearance in Paradow!
"I hope they’re just the first wave." In that case, eliminating them could sever the seed of the Emergence faith, but if they’re not the first wave, the consequences would be difficult to imagine.
Angel reached the top floor of the Infinite Battle Tower, piercing through the thin clouds of the stratosphere. From here, the view over Sky Mechanical City was grand and imposing, truly like a colossal steel beast coiled in the sky.
This was Angel’s first visit to such a high point in the Infinite Battle Tower. He flew in two circles but saw no reception platform here. As he contemplated how to contact City Lord Rosen, a door suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the blue-gray wall, and as it opened, a woman in professional attire walked out and leaned against the door frame.
"Good evening, Transcendental Wizard." It was a woman with her hair up, wearing glasses and a black uniform. She looked cold and reserved, yet the uniform accentuated her figure, adding a touch of an alternative allure.
"Melisa." Angel softly spoke her name, who was Rosen’s daughter and one of the high-ranking figures of the Infinite Battle Tower.
Melisa offered a slight smile: "Come in, the City Lord has been expecting you."
Angel was taken aback: According to Melisa’s tone, it seemed Rosen already knew?
Full of questions, Angel walked inside. Once in, the door vanished, and they found themselves in a deep, long corridor.
"Follow me," Melisa gestured for Angel to follow her.
On the way, Angel asked the question in his heart, how did Rosen know he would come looking for him?
Melisa: "Anthony has already conveyed your intent to find the City Lord to us, so we naturally received the message. Besides, I believe the Transcendental Wizard indeed should come to the City Lord, after all..."
Melisa turned her head, her eyes like deep ponds, glanced at Angel: "After all, you also need to provide an explanation for the affairs in the Void, don’t you?"
The matter in the Void naturally referred to Toby’s advancement.
Angel noncommittally nodded, thinking Rosen might have known something. Apparently, Rosen was still unaware of the Emergence matter.
During the rest of the journey, Melisa remained silent until they were close to reaching the central office. She then softly asked, "May I ask a question? I am really curious, what level was the aura that flashed by during the day? Was it truly... a Legend?"
Angel: "Whether it is or isn’t, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, it has already left."
Angel’s response was essentially a non-answer, leaving Melisa with a slight trace of regret. She originally wanted to probe further, but they had arrived at Rosen’s office, and she could only remain silent.
Before Melisa could knock, the steel door opened directly.
From inside, an extremely cold metallic voice said, "Come in."
Melisa indicated inside, prepared to lead Angel in, when the voice inside spoke again: "Melisa, you step out first. I need to talk with Angel."
A glint of light flashed in Melisa’s eyes, but without disputing, she nodded and turned around, closing the door behind her.
Angel looked around; it was a hall entirely forged from metal, with mysterious magic patterns glowing on the walls.
In the center of the hall was a long metal experiment table, being used as a desk.
Behind this experiment table hovered over a dozen large light screens, with images flickering across each screen.
At this moment, a tall figure stood with his back to Angel, quietly watching those light screens.
He was none other than one of the current two City Lords of Sky Mechanical City, the Beast Emperor Rosen!
