Chapter 1767: Section 1768 Helen Awakens

Why is Angel here? How did he come? Also, did he see me in this embarrassing state?

Helen’s heart was filled with countless questions, and the more she thought, the more her emotions became turbulent.

All of a sudden, Helen’s face was tinged with a faint red. At first, Little Six thought Helen was shy from seeing Angel, but the next second, Helen abruptly reached up to cover her mouth, her chest heaving uncontrollably as a trace of crimson spilled out from between her fingers.

Little Six’s expression turned panicked, "Helen, what’s wrong?" She reached out, wanting to touch Helen but withdrew her hand fearfully, afraid of hurting her. Hurriedly, she turned around, pleading with her eyes for Angel’s help.

Angel said nothing and walked forward directly, extending a hand to support Helen’s shoulders.

Helen herself didn’t understand what was happening; she only felt intense doubt and increasing anxiety swirling within her. As her emotions ran wild, she suddenly failed to control her body. A metallic taste rose from her throat and overflowed into her mouth, followed by a violent urge to vomit.

In an effort to avoid losing face before Angel, Helen covered her mouth, but the blood still trickled out.

After vomiting blood, Helen still felt no relief. On the contrary, her body was in even greater pain, as though her organs were being twisted and churned. Combined with her unsettled emotions, Helen endured not only the sharp torment of her flesh but also an escalating pressure on her spirit and mind.

It could be said that among the past half month since she returned to Little Six’s home, aside from the first day, this was the most tormenting moment.

She clutched her aching chest, gasping for air incessantly, but there was no sign of relief; instead, each labored breath only intensified the agony.

Just as Helen felt she was on the verge of breaking completely, a warm energy suddenly entered her body.

This energy was like the Morning Star of an old night—not overwhelming or forceful—but carrying the essence of light. Just the slightest trace entering her body seemed to pierce through endless darkness, allowing Helen, submerged in a long night of suffering, to catch a glimpse of dawn’s light.

When the rising sun broke through the haze, Helen’s raging internal organs began to settle back into place.

The pain gradually dissipated, and rationality returned once more.

As Helen regained her perception of the outside world, a hoarse, faint chuckle—seeming to come from the depths of a throat—reached her ears: "The abrupt surge in your emotions aggravated your internal injuries. So, was seeing me really that exciting for you?"

The one speaking, of course, was Angel.

Hearing these words, Helen’s face suddenly grew flush. Unlike the earlier redness from almost coughing up blood, this time her embarrassment was purely one of shy self-consciousness.

But Little Six, noticing this, asked with slight concern, "My lord, Helen’s condition seems off again—her complexion has changed once more."

Upon hearing this, Helen felt her cheeks grow even hotter, wishing she could bow her head and vanish into the ground.

The energy Angel had left in Helen’s body made it impossible for him not to understand that this time, Helen’s flush truly stemmed from sheer embarrassment. He chuckled lightly and said, "Don’t worry. Although Helen’s situation still has its uncertainties, I’m keeping an eye on her."

Upon hearing this, Little Six finally felt the weight in her heart lift. Helen, meanwhile, looked toward Angel with grateful eyes. She understood that Angel had certainly figured out the reason behind her embarrassment, yet had refrained from pointing it out to spare her from further discomfort.

This gentle and considerate gesture unconsciously reminded Helen of the time they spent aboard the Cloud Conch. It was precisely because of Angel’s warmth—so distinct from other Transcendents—that Helen’s heart had gradually found its way to him during their encounters.

Although the tender longing she had felt back then lingered only as a faint memory of those days on the sea—and had dissipated entirely after Angel softly rejected her—the fluttering sensations Helen had experienced remained unforgettable.

At this moment, her emotions seemed to return to those days, stirring her heart once again.

Yet this time, Helen understood that this wasn’t a rekindling of deeper feelings or attraction. She felt only pure gratitude.

Calming the restless waves within her heart, Helen lowered her head and softly murmured, "Thank you."

Angel: "No need for thanks. Do you still remember what I told you aboard the Cloud Conch when we passed the Dawn Sea Tower?"

The Dawn Sea Tower, located on Dawn Long Island in the Demon Sea Area, served as one of the entrances and exits. It was also the last sea tower encountered by the Cloud Conch before reaching its final destination—the Feran Continent.

That day, Helen had vaguely expressed her intentions: if she entered the Wizards’ Realm, she wished to make Angel her goal to pursue.

At that time, in the final darkness before dawn, Angel had gazed at the white light faintly showing on the horizon and told her, "While I don’t mind being your goal to chase, whether you’re in the Wizards’ Realm or the ordinary world, the target you should always set for yourself isn’t others—it’s yourself. Chase yourself, fulfill yourself, surpass yourself—that’s what you should strive for."

As he finished speaking, dawn arrived, and the light of dawn bathed his face. Even as Angel assumed the guise of a scruffy middle-aged man, beneath the glow of light, he remained dazzling.

How could Helen ever forget that moment?

"It seems you do remember," Angel said softly. "To set oneself as the goal—to chase oneself, fulfill oneself, and surpass oneself—that was merely a small suggestion I gave you. But as things stand now, you’re still far from achieving it."

Helen: "I..."

Helen wanted to respond but ultimately let out a soft sigh instead, choosing not to argue. Over the past half month, she had indeed harbored thoughts of giving up on herself. Angel wasn’t wrong.

Seeing her expression, Angel knew she understood his point. He didn’t dwell further on the topic, understanding that Helen possessed qualities befitting a Witch; she would recognize on her own what she needed to do.

"Let’s return to the main topic." Angel said, "Your physical injuries will heal gradually with rest. However, your spiritual power wounds cannot be allowed to linger any longer. If they deteriorate by another 10 points, you may never qualify as a Talented One. At that point, whoever you wish to take as your target will become nothing more than idle talk."

Angel briefly explained how Helen’s spiritual power injuries could be treated.

"...As the treatment progresses, your spiritual power may exhibit reactive resistance. This is normal. You must suppress it—don’t ward off my spiritual power. I’ll help you adjust it."

Helen nodded, "I understand."

After pausing for a moment, Helen hesitated and softly asked, "My... my lord, how did you know I was at Liwei’s home?"

Angel glanced at Little Six. Only now did he learn her name was Liwei.

From Angel’s look, Helen immediately understood it was Little Six’s doing. Turning to Little Six, she saw her playfully stick out her tongue—a lively gesture that contrasted with her quiet demeanor. Yet in Helen’s eyes, it was equally endearing.

Judging from Little Six’s expression, Helen roughly guessed how she had managed to invite Angel.

After some thought, Helen spoke to Angel, "My lord, Liwei was only worried about me. If she has offended you in any way, please forgive her."

"Since I’ve come here, such trifles are naturally nothing to concern myself with." Angel gestured for Helen to sit upright. "Prepare yourself. Your rare moment of calm emotions will be helpful in sorting out your spiritual power."
