Chapter 1652: Section 1653 Giant Trolls Appear
The outside commotion did not interfere with the competition; the battle within the dome continued unabated.
Trom’s energy was being consumed unceasingly, but Onassis remained calm and undisturbed, making Trom sense that something was wrong. If he kept attacking, it was very likely that he would exhaust himself first. After pondering for a moment, Trom launched another relatively weaker attack. This time, after striking, he did not dodge the rebounding force; instead, he went along with the rebound of the golden light, performing a backward somersault, and smoothly landed back on the original reef.
Trom looked at Onassis’s expression with seriousness.
Around Onassis seemed to be an impenetrable shield of light; without a way to break through, victory seemed distant and uncertain for Trom.
What should be done?
As Trom’s thoughts rapidly turned, he failed to notice that the air around him was becoming increasingly damp and muggy.
On the other hand, Onassis looked around in confusion and pondered inwardly: "The atmosphere is getting more oppressive; there’s an uneasy feeling... Should it end like this?"
"How should I end this?" Various philosophical texts flashed through Onassis’s mind.
However, while Onassis was engrossed in thought, the light suddenly dimmed, as if transitioning from day to night.
When a momentary change in visibility occurred, a thunderous "boom" resounded right by their ears.
At the same time, a bolt of lightning cut across the dark horizon, the white light spread across the sea, and the gloomy air seemed to ignite in an instant.
Trom was already on edge; the thunderclap startled him, his face slightly changing color. He abruptly looked up, suspicion flashing in his eyes, staring at the wandering low clouds in the sky.
Onassis’s expression changed too—not from fear, but because his brow was twitching, as if a great terror was approaching.
In this instant, neither contestant looked at each other; instead, they braced themselves against the sea which now stirred ominously in darkness.
"Boom—" Another clap of thunder resounded, accompanied by lightning.
The lightning appeared right behind Onassis; the flash of white light allowed Trom to clearly see the blue electric light over the distant sea. However, more concerning to Trom than the crackling electricity over the sea was something else—a giant wave!
A huge wave, over ten meters tall, appeared behind Onassis without warning.
But what was more terrifying wasn’t the wave itself, but the monstrous silhouette vaguely visible within it...
Because of the loud thunder and lightning, Onassis did not initially notice the movement behind him, until he saw that Trom was staring fixedly behind him, his eyes wide and pupils constricted to pinpoints. Only then did Onassis suddenly realize what was happening.
He turned around just in time to see the towering wave before him.
With the wave came a roar that resounded through the skies!
In Trom’s view, Onassis was instantly swallowed by the massive wave, but somehow Onassis managed to render his figure illusory, as if he had become the Body of Falsehood, his physical form no longer present in reality.
The tremendous wave, carrying the terrifying Water Elemental Energy, had no effect on Onassis whatsoever.
But the ordeal was not over. The wave was merely the appetizer; the real menace lurked within—the monstrous silhouette inside the wave!
With the surrounding noise too overwhelming, Trom couldn’t make out any distinct sounds, but after a ringing in his ears, the nearly twenty-meter-high wave suddenly burst apart.
The explosion of the wave not only scattered water droplets everywhere, but it also sent Onassis flying.
Trom could clearly see that when Onassis was thrown out, for the first time there were injuries on his body. Blood trickled from his mouth, and his face was pallid with fright.
Like a cannonball, Onassis was smashed into the sea.
With the spreading mist and Onassis’s submersion, Trom finally saw the figure previously hidden behind the huge wave.
It was a gigantic human-form Magical Creature, with only half of its body visible above the water!
From the waist to the top of its head, it was ten meters tall! It was foreseeable that if the lower half concealed underwater were included, this monstrous figure would be at least twenty meters tall!
Its skin was tinged blue, covered with gray-black circular scales. Its facial features were distributed like a human’s, yet twisted and magnified countless times to form a grotesquely ugly and ferocious visage. It had two demon-like sharp horns on its head, indicative of its identity—
an Ocean Troll!
No horns for humans, horns for Demons. This is the clear difference between giant trolls and giants!
This Ocean Troll held a weapon like a Wolf Fang Club in its hand, with a hollow in the club indicating that it was this weapon that had shattered the huge wave and sent Onassis flying.
Trom swallowed hard, this Ocean Troll was too terrifying... Even though he knew that its strength was only at the level of an Apprentice, its overwhelming power and its formidable aura unquestionably surpassed all Apprentices Trom had ever encountered!
After flinging Onassis away, the Ocean Troll fixed its gaze on Trom, who stood on the reef. With a roar, it swam towards Trom.
Seeing this, Trom immediately retreated, planning to distance himself while thinking of a strategy.
But as Trom turned his head, he noticed that there was a small island behind him with two symmetrical rocks, which had seemingly appeared out of nowhere on the sea behind him.
Trom paused, looking at the two rocks, and immediately realized something. The retreat halted as he quickly veered in another direction.
At the same time, the small island began to slowly rise to the surface.
When it completely emerged above the water, it became clear that it was not a small island at all, but an enormous head. The "island’s" so-called rocks were actually sharp horns on its head!
This was still an Ocean Troll!
Two Ocean Trolls were swimming towards Trom!
Despite their massive size and seemingly clumsy appearance, Ocean Trolls are marine creatures that move with incredible speed in water, swiftly closing in on Trom!
In particular, the Ocean Troll that had previously appeared behind Trom almost instantly drew near.
Trom looked out at the endless expanse of sea ahead and knew that he had no escape.
He stopped and turned to face the Ocean Troll.
At this moment, he had only two choices: either quickly end the match or defeat the Ocean Troll.
The prerequisite to ending the match was for Onassis to concede voluntarily, or... be killed. This was actually quite difficult; not to mention whether he could defeat Onassis, just fighting Onassis under the attack of two Ocean Trolls was something Trom didn’t believe he could do.
Other than that, the only option was to defeat the Ocean Troll.
One Troll might have been manageable, but two Ocean Trolls... Trom felt it was a bit precarious.
Just as Trom hesitated, a sudden explosion boomed from afar. Trom glanced over with confusion, only to see that, unbeknownst to him, Onassis had surfaced from the sea and was facing the other Ocean Troll.
Trom was stunned for a moment. Both Ocean Trolls were originally attacking him, and if Onassis had seized the opportunity to attack him now, Trom reckoned he could only surrender. However, Onassis did not do so, which came as a surprise to Trom.
Trom wondered if Onassis was being foolish or really wanted a fair duel. At least Trom didn’t have to face two Ocean Trolls now, which was somewhat relieving.
The sound of Onassis battling the Ocean Troll in the distance caused the Ocean Troll chasing Trom to look back in confusion. Seizing the opportunity, Trom thought to himself: Chance.
Trom took a deep breath, and his body visibly began to undergo a transformation.
Bloodline release!
Trom’s limbs instantly took on a beastly form, muscles bulging and feet transforming into hard hooves.
A white mist slowly seeped out from Trom’s limbs. However, the mist didn’t really dissipate but instead swirled around him, making him appear ethereal, as if amidst the clouds.
This white mist was an intense chill; the ice spreading from beneath Trom’s feet was a testament to the mist’s freezing power.
After the transformation of his limbs, Trom immediately started moving.
Like a true deer, he dashed across the sea surface with his four hooves touching the water.
Every time his hooves touched the sea, the white mist turned the water into frozen ice, ensuring Trom did not fall into the sea.
Trom was already fast, but upon assuming deer form and running on all fours, his speed increased even more.
Pieces of uniquely shaped ice were left behind on the rolling sea, stretching all the way to the Ocean Troll.
The Ocean Troll had been watching Onassis’s battle until it felt an icy chill in front of it and turned its head.
When it turned, the first thing it saw was a "joyful" deer pouncing towards its face.
In the eyes of the audience, Trom leaped up. The chilling white mist around him turned into ice spikes at that moment, which, accompanied by the force of Trom’s movements, plunged directly into the Ocean Troll’s left eye.
Even though the Ocean Troll closed its eye swiftly, it was still a fraction too slow.
With a boom, the Troll’s eyeball burst open. Red and white viscous tissue smeared across Trom’s face.
Trom didn’t stop; using the Ocean Troll’s nostril as leverage, he rushed toward its right eye.
This time, the Ocean Troll was prepared and closed its eye in advance. Although Trom didn’t succeed in bursting its right eye as well, he left a puff of white mist there.
After doing this, Trom avoided the Water Elemental Energy leaking from the Ocean Troll and began to wrestle with it at close range.
It was only when he engaged in close-quarters combat that Trom truly felt the terror of the Ocean Troll.
The Ocean Troll’s physical body was incredibly formidable, and it wasn’t dumb either. Each time Trom lingered at a lethal spot on its body, the Ocean Troll wouldn’t foolishly slap itself but would use powerful Water Elemental Energy to flush Trom away, forcing him to constantly change position. During this process, the Ocean Troll began to attack Trom.
Even though Trom was swift, he couldn’t outpace the Ocean Troll’s wide-ranging attacks and suffered several direct hits. Fortunately, Trom was in a half-beast state, so the injuries weren’t severe.
However, continuing the struggle like this was still unfavorable for Trom.
In the spectator stands, worry flickered in the eyes of Trom’s devotees. Those who participated in the betting and chose Trom to win also furrowed their brows.
