Chapter 1651: Section 1652 The Solution to Cracking
Trom, seizing his victory, dashed forward with incredible speed, instantly appearing near Onassis.
Wrapped in a strong bloody wind, with his clothes fluttering loudly, Trom threw a punch towards Onassis.
Onassis did not dodge or flinch, allowing Trom’s fist to strike his body. A flicker of joy passed through Trom’s eyes, convinced that Onassis, not being of the Bloodline, couldn’t possibly withstand his hit given his physical condition!
However, the next second something strange happened.
As Trom’s fist was about to make contact with Onassis’s skin, a golden halo warded off Trom’s force. Trom felt as though he had hit a soft protective cover; the force he had gathered not only failed to harm Onassis but instead coalesced into a mass and rebounded back at Trom.
By the time Trom realized something was wrong, he immediately transformed his hands into beast-like hooves, dissipating most of the rebounded force.
Even so, Trom was still thrown back.
In midair, Trom finally regained his balance and took control of his body once again.
At this moment, his gaze towards Onassis held a new measure of conjecture. He had not sensed any energy reaction from Onassis just now, so how did that golden halo appear?
Was it an instantaneous Trick? A Defense Spell in the witchcraft slot?
Trom couldn’t figure it out, but now was not the time to think. He decided to test again. Although he had thrown a punch at Onassis just now, he hadn’t really employed the power of the Bloodline. This time, he intended to add the Bloodline Power.
Though Trom thought a lot internally, to outsiders, after being repelled, he immediately launched a second wave of attacks without any hesitation.
Behind Trom, a beastly phantom slowly emerged. Although the exact appearance of the phantom was unclear, even through the Boundless Battle Arena’s dome, everyone could sense the terrifying power of this beastly phantom.
If Trom was fast before, with the beastly phantom attached, his speed reached its peak.
Like a meteorite falling, Trom attacked Onassis repeatedly at extremely high speed.
However, each of Trom’s attacks was intercepted and rebounded by a golden light. Prepared this time, Trom was not affected by the rebound and could even swiftly dodge it after each attempt.
The external audience was excited, thinking that Trom was dominating Onassis, but the judges on the panel were less optimistic.
"From the power of the rebound, this phantom deer’s Bloodline is very strong. However, he is merely depleting his resources with no purpose. The Philosopher has not even shown any energy fluctuations from the beginning," said a guest judge from Dusknights’ Blade, shaking his head. If Trom continues this way, the Philosopher can easily win without lifting a finger.
Not only did the guest judge think so, but most of the judges present felt the same. Including Farlinna, although she didn’t care who won or lost, what she was more interested in were the details of their battle.
"Have you figured out the details of that golden light on Onassis?" Farlinna curiously asked Angel standing beside her.
Angel shook his head; the golden light seemed to appear out of nowhere, unsubstantiated. Yet, it was genuinely clinging to Onassis’s side, protecting him from any physical attacks and rebounding them.
"Perhaps, it’s another philosophical technique," Angel hesitated.
This unfathomable power is similar to the philosophical techniques Onassis used in his previous match with Suyatutai. Both are invisible in origin, yet mysteriously exist.
Falina understood what Angel meant; she had watched Onassis’s matches and speculated about them too. However, she was still puzzled, "Before Onassis deployed these techniques, didn’t he always mutter some profound philosophical words? I don’t seem to have seen him make any moves."
Angel knew something about this; he had gathered some clues from what Xiliu told him about her battle with Onassis.
However, just as Angel was about to explain, someone preempted him, saying: "There are ways to transmit information other than just through language."
This voice carried a strange intonation, sounding somewhat cold, yet upon closer reflection, it conveyed a stifling unease and a distressing anxiety. It was like being on a ship navigating the Devil’s Sea, constantly facing the surging dark currents and unpredictable violent weather.
This simple conversation could unsettle one’s emotions; there was only one judge capable of that.
One of the eighteen Observers of the Crown Star Church, the "Guardian of the Dead Sea" Hydra.
Hydra’s three heads were still not open-eyed, but the middle head slowly turned toward Falina. It was this head that had just spoken.
"A way to transmit information?" Falina murmured, somewhat perplexedly.
"The Observer probably means that Onassis’s ability to manipulate philosophy as a method is essentially about transmitting information. As long as others receive his information, the framework of philosophy becomes established," said Angel. "And information can be conveyed through language, like his frequent references to various philosophical knowledge; but there are other methods as well."
Falina looked towards Hydra. He nodded slightly at her, confirming Angel’s explanation was correct.
Falina was a bit clearer now, but still somewhat puzzled, "If it requires receiving the information to enact his techniques, how did Onassis transmit information just now?"
Hydra also turned his head towards Angel, appearing to want to hear Angel’s answer.
"Perhaps through sound transmission, or by using other objects to spread it. Such as the sound of waves crashing, the surge of ocean currents, or the howl of the sea breeze," Angel paused, "When Onassis stands in the arena, he himself becomes a source of information constantly radiating outward. And the moment Trom notices Onassis, he has started receiving information."
After Angel finished speaking, Hydra laughed lightly and nodded, "The Transcendental Wizard is right. If philosophy is used as a method of attack. Onassis himself can indeed be considered a concrete object of philosophy, thus, anyone facing him is actually facing a living philosophy. When Trom and Onassis entered the Boundless Battle Arena, Trom was already under Onassis’s influence."
Falina frowned, "In that case, Onassis’s abilities seem somewhat unbreakable."
"There are ways," Hydra said, "First, by blocking the information. This is relatively easier for us to achieve, though Trom may not be able to do so."
"Second, after all, Onassis is just an Apprentice, even if he lives as a philosophy, he still has his limits. As long as the attack exceeds Onassis’s tolerance threshold, it can break through."
That being said, no one knows the limits of Onassis’s endurance.
