Chapter 82: The Culprit (Part 2)
I then went out of our room while calling his number.
Ring. Ring. R—
"Yes, my dear wife?"
"Ew. Stop calling me that," I sighed. "Anyway, I already know who the culprit is thanks to your friend, and I have the files with me, so—"
"Hello there, gorgeous Ye-Ji’ya!"
Agent Hades suddenly popped out of nowhere and greeted me. I didn’t feel his presence, so I jolted a bit when I saw him.
"What the—Ugh. What is it?"
He held out his hand to me as if asking me to hand over something to him.
"The files?" he said with an irritating smile. "You already did the research, right?"
My eyes widened the moment he said that.
What the f*ck! How did he know I already—Did Agent Helios tell him about it? But no, I didn’t see them meet after he left our room. But if that’s the case, how did he know that I was doing my research about it and—
"I can read your face like an open book," he teased. "Don’t worry. Your beloved husband didn’t betray you."
"What?" I asked with knitted brows.
"I simply deduced what you would do knowing that you weren’t very impressed with me and doubted my skill. Plus, knowing a little of your personality given the years I’ve known you from Mythos, it wasn’t that hard to tell."
He then shrugged as if it was the most basic knowledge or common sense!
Smirking, he added, "I got you, right?"
His smirk was so confident—too confident that there wasn’t an inch of doubt that he could have been wrong.
He waved his hand, asking for the files again. I felt a little pissed, but I handed it over to him. After all, there was nothing I could do with those pieces of evidence. I couldn’t blow up my facade just to interrogate someone. Therefore, he would really be the one to do the interrogation.
"Thank youuuu," he said as he scanned through the files I handed him on his phone. "I did great, right? Are you impressed with me now? Will you not look down on me anymore?"
I crossed my arm and scoffed.
"Don’t get too cocky. It’s too early to tell."
"Aww... too bad," he pouted. "But still, I did something great. I deserve a reward."
"My husband can pay for your services, thank you."
"EHHH? But I don’t want money," he complained. "Instead of money, why not..."
Agent Hades then moved closer to me. I tried to avoid him, but he kept approaching me until I didn’t realize my back was already touching the wall—the corner wall. Urgh... to have such a skill. How annoying.
"You see, Ye-Ji’ya—"
"Stop calling me that as if we’re close!" I snapped at him.
In my anger, I hung up the call and faced him, glaring at his eyes.
"How cold," he pouted again. "I just wanted to get a little reward from you for a job well done."
"I’m not the one who hired you, so I’m not entitled to pay you!"
Cornering me to a wall like this, he’s probably thinking of something despicable. He’s truly just like his friend—a lewd, perverted beast!
I readied myself and put on a fighting stance. Good thing nobody was around, and we were in a blind spot of the CCTV cameras, or else I wouldn’t be able to fight back.
But then, I suddenly remembered Agent Helios telling me that he was a better agent than me. Did that also mean he was stronger than me? If that’s the case, I would be at a disadvantage.
"Chill, my little lamb. I’m not trying to fight you. I prefer peace than war."
"Then get away from me! Why are you approaching me like you’re planning something gross? I’m your friend’s wife, in case you forgot!"
"Pft! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Yes, I know. That’s why I—"
"That’s why you WHAT? You little piece of sh*t!"
It was Agent Helios.
He suddenly appeared from behind him and grabbed his head hard.
"I believe I warned you not to DARE touch my wife."
Agent Helios’ eyes burned in anger. It was the first time I had seen it, so I was a little surprised.
"Oh no, hubby is here," Agent Hades teased him and acted surprised. "Don’t worry, I didn’t mean any harm. I wasn’t planning to touch her. I’m too scared of you."
"LIES!"
"I’m telling the truth," he shrugged. Turning to me, he added, "I just wanted to confirm a little something."
"And what is that something?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows.
He then grinned like an evil raccoon.
"Nothing much," Agent Hades said. "It’s just fascinating to see how you abhor other men’s touch, but you don’t mind your husband’s. It was very different from the Agent Selene I once knew—the ice queen who doesn’t even know how to smile."
"Huh? That’s..."
I unconsciously glanced toward Agent Helios, who also looked back at me.
"H-He’s my husband, so of course it’s alright if he touches me," I replied, a little embarrassed.
Oh my goodness. I wanted to puke at what I said, but I had to act like that. Agent Hades had no idea about our mission, so I still had to act in front of him about our relationship.
"... Right," he grinned again, but this time, he turned to Agent Helios’ to see his reaction. "I even saw you two kissing passionately earlier—from the window in your room, you know."
"What?! Y-You..."
I felt blood rush to my face when I heard that. Now it finally made sense why Agent Helios suddenly asked for a kiss earlier!
ASDFGHJKL!
He wanted to show it to him!
As to what the freaking reason he had, I don’t give a d*mn, but WRAAAA!!! The nerve of this guy! How dare he show something like that to his friend?! What am I? An amusement?!
Pissed off, I stomped my feet and left the two as**oles to themselves.
Die! Both of you!
