Chapter 74: Meeting with Mr. Choi (Part 3)

After that, I returned to the computer and checked the status.

"90%..."

"100%..."

"Download complete!"

’Ah, finally!’

As soon as the computer screen displayed those words, I took the device out and climbed up the air duct, removing the clipping device I put temporarily and screwed it back into place. Then, I crawled again back to the comfort room I was in earlier, went down, screwed the bars of the air ducts into place, and changed to the dress I was wearing earlier. I made sure to wipe off any dust that got into me and sprayed perfume over my body in case I caught any weird smell.

Five minutes was up, and just as we planned, I got out of the comfort room. The lady who helped me earlier was still there, though far away because she was talking to a colleague. When she saw me come out, she bowed to me and hurried to my side.

"Is there anything else you need, ma’am?" she kindly asked.

What an overly helpful person.

"I’m good. Thanks," I replied back with a smile. "Oh wait, would you mind? Where is Mr. Choi’s office again? I’m not so good with directions."

"Sure! Let me accompany you, ma’am."

Good. This would be another excellent alibi for me.

And so, the kind lady accompanied me back to his office while telling me lots of stories and showering me with praises. It didn’t take long for us to get back to the office since we only needed to take a couple of turns—the comfort room was at the back of Mr. Choi’s office facing the opposite side, so basically, we just needed to follow the hallway.

Once we were back, the kind lady knocked on the door for me and opened it, letting me pass through. She should get a raise. Her attentiveness and politeness were commendable. Plus, she would definitely remember me more—in case I needed her as a witness in the future.

Thinking that, I voiced it out to Mr. Choi.

"This employee of yours is very commendable. You should give her a raise," I said as I walked inside and sat back on the couch beside my husband.

I could see the reflection of the kind lady from the glass shelf behind Mr. Choi—she was very much surprised by what I said.

"Is that so?" Mr. Choi replied, looking pleased with what he heard. It seemed that Agent Helios gave him a hard time, so hearing something nice must have been reassuring for him. "Why not? I’ll make sure to have my people process her raise."

"Thanks, she deserves it."

"A-Ah... Thank you so much!" the kind lady bowed her head, thanking us profusely before leaving.

Turning to me, Agent Helios brushed my hair and kissed my cheek.

"It seems like my dear wife enjoyed her little tour?" he whispered.

I smiled back at him sweetly.

"Yes, I did. That kind lady was fun to be with. She kept me entertained with her stories while being observant and sensitive enough to my needs."

"That’s good to hear. Maybe we can hire her instead?"

"Ha-ha-ha. You’re pirating an employee. That’s bad. Mr. Choi only has a few commendable employees. Don’t let him lose every single one of them."

"Alright. I’ll be merciful. Besides, the servants I chose for you are already the best."

"They truly are, thank you."

"Ehem, Ehem," Mr. Choi cleared his throat, deliberately making his presence known in case we somehow forgot about him.

It was one of our tactics, though—to not look so interested in his proposal. That way, we could keep the upper hand. I personally didn’t understand much how that worked, but Agent Helios said he could pull it off, so I’ll trust him on that.

"Are you still not done?" I pouted. "How long will this conversation go?"

I know it’s barely been fifteen minutes since we arrived at his office but still, I had to act bored and uninterested since that was my public persona as the pampered wife.

"Usually, business talks take an hour or so, Mrs. Jeon," Mr. Choi answered me. "If you are tired of looking around, how about you try our relaxing furniture? We have massage chairs, vanity furniture, and many more exciting things you might want to check out? If you ever find anything that delights you, I can send it to your home as a gift. Feel free to choose anything to your liking."

Oh, he’s buying time, huh? It seems like he still wanted to get Agent Helios’ approval for whatever business proposal that was.

Glancing at Agent Helios, I asked him.

"You still need more time?"

He looked back at me and stared into my eyes. He always locks eyes with me when talking. I guess that’s how couples behave all the time. Ordinary people would find it uncomfortable to make eye contact.

"Hmm... I think we’re done for today. His proposal wasn’t that interesting—it was a waste of time. Why don’t we just go on a date instead?"

"Really?" I beamed at him and leaned my head on his shoulder, acting cute.

"Of course. Where do you want to go?"

"How about... hmm..."

"W-Wait a minute, Mr. Eun-Woo, Mrs. Jeon," Mr. Choi’s face turned frantic, "please give me a moment. If you’re not interested in what I initially mentioned, then how about something with a little more risk but with guaranteed high returns?"

’Guaranteed high returns? Since when did RIO (return of investment) become guaranteed, especially on high-risk ventures? Don’t tell me...’

I hate dealing with business talks, but I’m not stupid about it. Besides, Agent Helios taught me the basics, so if I’m not mistaken, whatever he’s proposing... could it be related to the pyramid scams or any other possible intel we could get?

I glanced toward Agent Helios again, and he glanced back at me. We’re probably thinking the same thing.

"Five minutes," he said. "That’s all I’m giving you."

"Yes, of course! Let me start right away!" Mr. Choi’s face lit up.
