Chapter 71: Sparring Session (Part 2)

I want to kill him. Right. I should just kill him. The nerve of this guy! The audacity!

I glared at him and attacked him with all my might. Perhaps because of my anger, a sudden spurt of energy came from within me.

"Die, you pervert!"

Hours passed, and finally, our sparring, aka training, was finally done. I still haven’t perfected the new skill, but at least I was able to do it correctly several times. That’s a significant improvement, given how complex it was.

After that, we proceeded with our earlier agreement—a contest in shooting. We rested a bit before continuing, but I still felt tired. The sparring earlier was too much. Still, it was my fault for being tired. I couldn’t possibly use it as an excuse to delay our deal. It’s shooting anyway, I should be able to win. I had higher stats than him in shooting.

But woe to me when he said right before we started...

"My dear wife, did you know why shooting was my lowest grade in the Agent Skills Assessment?"

"Hm? Because that’s your weakness, obviously."

"No, you’re wrong," he smirked at me. "It’s because during the assessment... my wrist was still healing from an injury."

BANG! BANG! BANG!

He shot the target several meters away without even looking—all landed on the perfect spot at the center! A full bullseye!

100! 100! 100!

The digital scoreboard at the top of the targets showed a perfect hundred scores each.

"W-What the..."

D*mn it! That was supposed to be his weakness but—how in the world will I win now? Ugh. Why did I choose shooting of all the areas I could have selected?

’Does this mean I will lose again and the prize... a kiss every day for three months! Nooooo... this can’t be true.’

I pressed my temples, realizing how stupid my decision was. I could only close my eyes and shake my head as the digital scoreboard sounded shouts of congratulations to Agent Helios for hitting all 100 points.

At last, it was my turn in the shooting. I used the same gun he did, which was another way for him to mock me—it was the most basic firearm and one I’m truly familiar with—a pistol.

’Don’t be pessimistic, Kim Ye-Ji. You can still put this match into a draw. That way, nobody wins or loses, and the deal is invalid.’

Yes, that’s right. I could still go for a draw. Fighting! (a Korean way of cheering for someone).

And so, I breathed in deeply, trying to regain my focus before shooting.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

100! 100! 100!

’Good. The first set was done, and I perfected it. Just two more since we agreed on three sets.’

BANG! BANG! BANG!

100! 100! 100!

’Yes! Well done, Kim Ye-Ji! Just one last batch. You can do it!’

BANG! BANG! BA—

"Foo..."

Agent Helios blew from behind me, towards my nape, making my shoulders jolt! Because of that, I missed the last shot!

"What the—that’s cheating!"

With raised eyebrows, shrugging, he replied to me.

"But you didn’t say we’re not allowed to distract our opponent. It’s too boring if it’s just a simple shooting contest—that’s child play. So I figured we should make it more fun."

"That’s not what we agreed upon."

"If it’s not stated in a specific and concise manner, it’s considered ’ambiguity’—another thing you missed when setting up the rules. Next time, make sure to do it flawlessly."

After that, he winked at me so mischievously.

But of course, I wouldn’t back down just like that.

"Fine. You win," I said in a pissed-off tone, with my arms crossed. "But you should say the same thing to yourself. The prize you asked for—a kiss every day for three months—you didn’t specify where. In that case, I’m free to do it wherever I want."

"Ha-ha-ha-ha. My dear wife is truly smart."

With that, our little contest concluded with neither side getting what they truly wanted. Me, peace of mind, and him, consent for his lust—ugh. Watch as I kiss you on the cheeks or elsewhere, but not your lips! Hmp!

It was almost evening when we finished, so we washed up before dinner and slept afterward. Again, I had to sleep on the same bed as him, or else their servants might find it suspicious—ugh. And of course, he took the chance to flirt with me for the nth time. I evaded him, though. There’s no way he’s getting his way when he became cunning with me earlier. When I woke up, though, I was in his arms. Haah...

Anyway, today was finally the day we were meeting with Mr. Choi. According to the backup plan laid out by Assistant Chief Athena, in the scenario we encounter problems with Ms. Choi, Agent Helios would have to talk with him alone. At the same time, I would use my stealth ability to check the computer in his office for any intel I could find. Because of that fact, Agent Helios deliberately set the meeting inside Mr. Choi’s office and said he didn’t feel safe discussing such things outside. How truly cunning of him.

Mr. Choi’s main computer had one of the best security given his job, so Mythos’ hacking skills wouldn’t suffice to bypass the security. We had to come into contact with the computer, connect our decoder device, and finally, extract information. That’s why Agent Helios and I need to create a scenario where I could leave them alone while they discuss. That part was easy, we had already decided how it would be.

[At the receiving area of Mr. Choi’s office located at the top of their company...]

"Ah, if it isn’t Mr. Jeon Eun-Woo and his wife!" Mr. Choi exclaimed upon seeing us, wearing the brightest smile he could give. "What an honor to meet you at last."

"It’s an honor to meet you as well, Mr. Choi," we greeted him back.

Ha-ha. If only he knew what was coming to him.
