Chapter 52: Honeymoon (Part 7)

Everyone was surprised by what I did—from the disguised reporters to the bodyguards, the other VIPs around, Ms. Choi herself, and even my own partner, Agent Helios. He laughed at me nonetheless, probably amused by my bizarre action.

"Ha-ha-ha. Of course, my dear wife. It’s my pleasure to let you sit on my lap."

He pulled me closer and held me by the waist.

"Good," I smiled back at him and caressed his face. "But do tell me, my dear husband, are you alright? You looked quite uncomfortable earlier?"

I switched to a more formal tone to ridicule Ms. Choi since she disguised her flirtatious acts as an important "business" matter. Agent Helios joined me in using a formal style of speech.

"Ah, so you noticed," Eun-Woo sighed. "Indeed, I was uncomfortable. This is the first time I have met her, yet she kept touching me as if we were close acquaintances."

"Aww, my poor husband," I acted worried about him. "Where did she touch you?"

"Here, the back of my hand and my arm. She even used her feet to touch my leg."

"Ah! The audacity!" I yelped, deliberately raising my voice for the reporters to hear. "That is no simple touch. That is flirting! Is she that desperate to appeal to you? And she knows that you have a wife, yet she still did it? How vulgar!"

"Yes, I told her the seat across was yours, but she continued to sit down nonetheless."

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Ah... How shameless," I sighed, turning to Ms. Choi’s direction and looking down at her, deliberately taunting her.

Since she was sexually harassing Agent Helios, and we missed our chance to gain intel, a new idea crossed my mind.

"Ha-ha-ha," Ms. Choi laughed. "He was enjoying my touch earlier, though. He only changed his attitude when you came."

’What a load of crap. So this is the tactic she’s going to use on me, huh? Make me suspect my husband? If we’re a normal couple, maybe. But we’re partners, and I saw everything that happened, so there’s no way you’re going to fool me.’

"Is that so?" I asked. "Does yanking his arms and pulling his feet away mean enjoyment for you? Does his face turning sour, filled with disgust, mean he’s happy with what you did? It seems to me that we have a different understanding of what the term ’enjoyment’ really means."

At those words, her eyes widened, and her eyebrows knitted. Her jaw tightened in anger. She probably didn’t expect me to catch on to that. And most of all, she probably didn’t expect a lowly person such as myself to fight her back.

’That’s it. Go on. Get angrier and lash out.’

Ugh. I’m starting to think like Agent Helios.

Ms. Choi scoffed and crossed her arms. With her haughty eyes, she looked down at me and replied back.

"You are right. We truly have a different understanding of certain things. After all, we came from different backgrounds—I came from a prestigious family of Elites, and you are...?"

She raised one of her eyebrows, taunting me.

"I am from a humble home of loving parents who taught me good manners and wisdom to discern right from wrong, such as... not to flirt with married men. Certainly, there is such a big difference in the upbringing."

Copying her rude gesture, I crossed my arms, lifted my chin, and looked down at her. In a confident tone, exuding a much regal aura, I continued.

"One is a mannequin dressed in the finest luxuries but contains nothing inside—just an empty shell. While the other is a geode—a hollow rock on the outside but filled with the rarest treasures inside. Surely, anyone can tell which is more valuable than the other."

"Pft!" Agent Helios laughed. "Ahhh... my wife truly is the rarest treasure in the world."

He hugged me from the back and kissed my cheeks, smiling proudly at me. I guess that meant I did a good job? Or was he just amused?

I smiled back at him and brushed his cheeks. Then, I inched closer and kissed him—just a simple peck on his lips. Yes, like a normal couple supporting each other. That’s how those romance novels or dramas go, right?

Staring into my eyes, Agent Helios didn’t look satisfied. As soon as I was done with my measly kiss, he pulled my face back and kissed me deeper. Ugh. I should have known. He’s a real kissing maniac. It’s never a greeting kiss for him—always a casual or a sweet kiss—wait, no. Let me correct that. It’s either a sweet or wild kiss for him.

Seeing us kiss, alas, Ms. Choi’s patience ran out. She screamed and banged the table so hard as she sprung up hastily from her seat. Her men quickly went to her aid, but so did ours, prepared for a fight. Agent Helios raised his hand, signaling them to halt.

"I will remember this rude behavior, Ms. Choi," he said in a menacing tone and eyes that looked dead cold at her. "And for you to exhibit this behavior in my most awaited honeymoon with my wife, how truly disappointing."

Hearing those words, Ms. Choi trembled from head to toe.

"I expect you never to show your face before me ever again," he continued. "And as for this matter, I will make sure to discuss this thoroughly with your father. I wonder how many assets your family will lose this time just to coax my wife and me for what you’ve done. That is... if your family has enough."

After that, we got up from our seats and headed back to our suite. Given the current scenario, we couldn’t possibly continue our dinner there anymore.

"W-Wait! It’s not what you think!" Ms. Choi begged desperately. "That’s not what I meant—I just wanted to talk—"

She tried to reach out her hands, but our bodyguards stopped her. Lots of cameras took pictures and videos of what happened despite her men reprimanding them. Surely, she’ll be doomed.

’I feel sorry for you, Ms. Choi, but you brought it upon yourself. Now, we will use your mistake as leverage to gain the intel we need from your father.’

"Mr. Jeon, wait! Mrs. Jeon. Please! Have mercy—"

And so, her shrieking voice echoed in the hallway. Sadly, no matter how loud she yells, there’s no turning back. What’s worse, it only happened all because of her lust and maybe a little seduction on our part.
