"You got the rich kid?" one of the men who looked like a guard asked the spies who came in.

"Yes. He’s here," one of the spies answered.

"Bring him over there. You know the drill. For the rest of you, I got another assignment."

He then gave them a piece of paper with an address on it.

"Get those street rats there and bring ’em here. We have a big event this weekend. We need as many as we can get."

"Yeah, right. More money for us," another said, laughing like the devil.

"Yeah, boy! Let’s go to the club once we have the money and f*ck the sh*t out of those wh*res!"

"Ha-ha-ha-ha!" they all laughed so happily as if they had no conscience.

VROOM! VROOM!

Suddenly, the sound of a car echoed from the silent and dark place. Hearing that, everyone’s face turned serious. They hurriedly went back to their positions and stood up straight. Whoever that was, for him to be able to make them act like that... was probably their boss.

A man wearing a black suit came out of a rather expensive car—a real car this time—and stood in front of them. He wore dark shades on his eyes, big enough for us to be unable to recognize him at a glance. Given that, I quickly memorized everything I could memorize about him—from the way he clothed, his gestures, the way he talked, and everything else. Seeing his expensive attire, surely, he would have belonged to one of the Elite families.

Several bodyguards came with the man in a black suit, also wearing dark suits but were taller than him by a few inches. They seemed to be on the lookout for his safety.

"I’m here to check on the goods," the man said, his voice sounding low and a bit old.

But that thing he said—goods—hah! How trashy of them to think of children as goods or products!

It was then that I realized...

’Does that mean... they’re going to sell all of those children?’

A huge prick stung my heart.

As I thought, only the rich children were kidnapped for ransom. But for the rest of them... they were to be sold for who-knows-what.

Truthfully, it was nothing new to be so shocked about. There had been many cases where children were either sold for their organs, to be slaves, or to be prostitutes for the rich who had those kinds of evil fetishes.

And those were just the tip of the iceberg. There were so many more things they could use the children for... things that were too horrible to even think about.

For years, they had continued to operate this way. And for years, there was a very little case about them. Why? Because how in the world was the poor supposed to sue them? How in the world would the poor people be able to report them and be heard? And if they were heard, how many would take action?

The answer... was none.

It would take a miracle for one of them to be saved.

I clenched my fists tight—too broken, sad, and furious about everything I was witnessing at that very moment. I wanted to scream, run, or just go back there and capture them all and rescue those children right at that moment!

But alas... I couldn’t.

We were still on a mission, and we had to take the plan into consideration.

We couldn’t possibly act recklessly.

’UGH! F*ck this! I really hate this!’

As my face furrowed in frustration, I felt Agent Helios’ warm hands hold mine.

"Relax, babe," Agent Helios said, pulling me close to him and making me sit on his lap. "Don’t worry. Every single one of those children," he said, pointing at them, "we will rescue them all. So don’t feel too sad, okay?"

My eyes widened when he said that, a little touched by his kind gesture.

"Y-Yes," I nodded, stuttering. "We definitely will."

He gently patted my cheek and kissed me sweetly.

As soon as his lips pressed on mine, a calming sensation emerged from within my heart.

Ba-dump!

We only kissed for a moment, but it was enough to make my heart raise.

’Ugh... This is bad. I shouldn’t fall too much. More of this, and I might become his lap dog, easily swayed by simple things like this.’

"Here they are, boss!" the enthusiastic answer of one of the guards startled me back into focus. "Two hundred and eighty-six in total. There’s a few more coming later in the afternoon."

The man in the black suit approached one of the cells as he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and covered his nose. Ugh. How hateful.

"Good. Bring in as much as you can bring," he said, nodding approvingly. "But make sure to make them... a little presentable. Wash them all clean and dress them properly. No one will want to buy such nasty-looking goods. And take care of those smells, it’s making me puke."

"Y-Yes, boss!"

"How about the premium products? Have you contacted their families and negotiated ransom?"

"In progress, boss! Our men are already working on it."

"The invitations have been sent out as well, boss!" another butted in, obviously trying to appeal to their boss. "Here. We changed the way it looks and added secret codes that will be scanned automatically by the entrance s-so no uninvited guest can come inside once the party starts."

He then handed over the invitation to their boss. The spies from Mythos couldn’t get near since they might be suspected, but the distance was enough for us to zoom in.

I quickly borrowed Agent Helios’ laptop and took a snapshot of the black card, which was the invitation card they were talking about. We need to decipher this later and find out what those secret codes look like so we can replicate them and infiltrate the party.

"Good," the man in the black suit smiled devilishly. "I expect no delay for the black party then."

"Yes, boss!" the two men chorused.

Soon after that, their boss left, and they all returned to their usual tasks.

But as for me and Agent Helios, the chase has only begun.

Watch as we ruin all of your plans!
