Chapter 41: Let’s Start The Hunt To The East
"Are you okay?" Acantha looked at her father, who looked concerned.
"Yes, I’m fine. Besides, Lord Abellarde won’t dare to touch if he still wants his tittle; after all, the crown prince was here as my witness." Acantha said as she took a glimpse of Helion, who was beside her.
"That bastard, I knew it when I felt something was off," the duke said as he cursed the baron.
Acantha looked at the duke when she saw Flamear behind him walking and holding something on his mouth.
Flamear stopped in front of her and showed her the small bag, and when she opens it, she sees black smoke coming out, which she can confirm that the baron was the one the Flamear felt using dark magic.
"What was that?" The duke looked at her and was frowning as he was asking what she saw in the small sack bag.
Helion also went close to her to look at what she was looking at.
"Is that a -"
The duke said, but he didn’t get to finish his words when, suddenly, Helion got the bag from her.
"Where did you get this one?" Helion said as he was looking at Flamear.
"I took it out of the baron’s pocket when I threw him out of the north," Flamear said, which shook Acantha.
Acantha saw how Helion and the duke both clenched their fists. "That bastard, I should’ve never let him escape." She heard Helion say as he was still clenching his fist.
"But I think it was related to someone we were looking for." Flamear said as he looked at her.
"What do you mean?" She asks this time as Flamear seems to sense something from those mana stones that contains some black magic.
"These mana stones were not real; this was crafted by someone who knew how to use dark magic and infuses it into empty stones." Helion was the one who answered her.
"I sense something familiar with these though," she said as she got one of the stones and looked at it.
The two men look at her like they were waiting for her to remember something.
Acantha was trying to remember something when suddenly she felt something.
She knew now!
The energy that surrounds the stones was the same energy that she sensed from those monsters that she fought, but the stones have fainter energy than the monsters.
"This has the same energy as the monsters who attacked the market last time," she said as she handed them the stones.
"Does the baron have something to do with those monsters?" Helion asked as he looked at her and Flamear.
"I can’t confirm; we need some solid proofs that he was the one who sold these things at the market; if we were impulsive and told everyone what we saw here, he might deny it and say that he only bought it from the market." Acantha said as she looked at the two men who were gazing at her like she said something odd.
"That’s new," the duke said, which made her look at him. "It’s so unlikely you, Aki." The duke said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest and look at her like she was something to observed.
"Well, I guess you matured after your accident." The duke said as he sat on the sofa, "I’m so glad that; it’s not just the hair that you got from me." He said while he smirked.
Acantha sighed; she thought the duke would find out about her. She knew that she had been acting like her old self these past few weeks as she realized how dumb she was doing things that were kind of annoying.
"I guess I learned something from these past few days—that I had been on the brink of death—that I should be more careful on what to do and not be so impulsive and react based on my emotions," she said to the duke as she walked to sit on the chair opposite the duke’s chair.
"You came here late, father; have you eaten your dinner?" She asks as she settles on her seat.
She saw from the corner of her eyes Helion, who was talking now to Mildred, who was just nodding.
"I ask Mildred to get us something to drink," Helio said as he looked at her.
"You shouldn’t have bothered Mildred," Acantha said as she raised her brows at him.
She knows that she had been addressing him informally, but she still remembers that he told her that he should call him by his name, which she did.
Not long Mildred entered the place and gave their drinks and left the place, and when Acantha got hers, she raised her brows.
"Mildred said you preferred drinking milk than tea," Helion said to her.
"So, what did Elder Elida tell you?" the duke asked as he sipped on his cup.
Acantha almost forgot to tell the duke about it; she told him everything that happened this afternoon.
"Is that the necklace she gave you?" The duke said as he pointed to the necklace that she was wearing.
Acantha nodded. This necklace was made using the fairy who puts the mark on Abanoon’s disciple." She said as she touched the necklace.
"But where would you start finding that person?" The duke continued to ask as he was frowning.
Acantha didn’t answer, as she too didn’t know where to start. Besides, Abanoon wasn’t even in the original story, so how the hell would she know where to find her disciple?
"I knew where we should start," Flamear said, which made her look at him.
"Where?" She asks as she straightens her back from leaning on the chair where she was sitting.
"There was one stone castle in a mountain where no one lives, as the place is where the monster that Abanoon created resides. If Solaia created the Luxrisn for the fairies to reside, Abanoon also created a place where the monster she creates to reside." Flamear said as he hopped on her lap and looked at her tiringly.
"A stone castle? Isn’t the Valetudoo Mountain?" Helion asks as he looks at Flamear, who was resting. "But why would you suggest that place?" He continued to ask.
Acantha felt Flamear sighed as he lifted his head. "That place is where Abanoon’s monster is, and those who worshipped her became more powerful." Flamear exclaimed as he looked at Helion. "That place was where Abanoon has her own temple and uses her rituals to make the monster herself; if she taught that disciple, we should go there." Flamear continued to say.
They just nodded at him, "But we cannot use any powers there to teleport ourselves. Abanoon cursed the place when Solaia went to her, and they fought; Solaia fled away as she didn’t want to kill her twin sister," Flamear said as he looked at everyone who was also looking at him.
"Maybe we should go rest, and we will travel tomorrow to fasten to find the disciple who was doing so much dark magic, and it costs so many people to live in here," Helion said after they finished their drinks.
Acantha went to her room while she was carrying Flamear. She puts him down on his small bed as she goes to the bathroom and changes her clothes.

They all woke up early that morning, and the duke was hesitant to leave her again with Helion as, based on him, he didn’t trust any men with her.
Acantha was now riding on the carriage with Mildred as they were going to the east, where the mountain that Flamear was talking about. Before they left, the fairies also gave them some mana stones to prepare.
"My lady, you need to change in to this; the weather in the east wasn’t as good as in the capital. and wasn’t as cold as in the north," Mildred said as she handed her some thin clothes.
Acantha followed her as she dressed herself inside the carriage, which Mildred should have told her before so it wouldn’t be hassled like now, but Mildred was nowhere this morning, and she said she did something at the kitchen as she told the other staff at the Klartis palace, which the Duke brought when he went home last night, and brought them again in the morning.
After she finished changing her clothes, she opened the window of the carriage and saw that Helion was personally guarding their carriage, where he should be in another carriage.
"You should’ve eaten your breakfast," she said to him as she offered the cookies that she brought with her.
Helion looks at her and looks at the cookie she handed to him. She was surprised that instead of taking it on her hand, he took a bite on it while she was still holding it.
"I didn’t have time this morning; I needed the knights to prepare with me," he said as he took another bite again from the cookie that she was holding.
Acantha knew that he had a hard time as the knights already settled themselves at the Klartis palace, and then they needed to leave immediately in the morning, where they were just in formation at the same time.
Acantha looked at Helion, and she could see that the man hadn’t had enough sleep as there were some dark circles under his eyes.
"Is the east a good place?" She asks, as she had no idea about the place except that it was always attacked by mountain monsters, just like what she heard from the councils the last time.
Helion was about to answer when the carriage stopped and-
