Chapter 39: Finding That- , Uninvited Guest In The North

Elida summoned something from her hand, and a small necklace emerged.

"This will help you; once you wear this necklace and it burns, it only means that the person you’ve been looking for was near, as it was reacting to the mark that Gea made to Abanoon’s disciple; that person will also feel her mark burn as it was made by Gea, and this necklace was Gea’s remains," Elida explained to them as she gave her the necklace.

It was Helion who accepted the necklace. "May I?" he asked her, holding the necklace and preparing to put it on her.

Acantha just nodded and let Helion put the necklace on her neck. She felt his hands brush her skin, which sent her some goosebumps.

Elida warned them, her eyes filled with concern, "But Abanoon’s disciple was not an ordinary person; that person knows how to use black magic."

Meanwhile,

Baron Abellarde was on his way to the north, as he heard that the duke wasn’t there; only his stupid daughter was in the north.

He planned to go there, but something unexpected healed him. This time he will get what is rightfully his from the hands of a little girl.

He was beaming with confidence, certain that he would finally secure that position; all he had to do was murder that woman, and everything would be his.

He halted his thoughts when the carriage he was riding unexpectedly stopped.

He looked at the window and saw one of his men knock on it.

"What was it?" Baron Abellarde frowns at one of his knights. "What was that?"

"There’s a big problem, my lord," the knight said nervously as he looked at the baron, who was still frowning.

"What problem?" he asked as he hissed at him.

"There seems to be a barrier that is prohibiting us from entering the place," he said, and he saw the baron’s face change when he said those words.

"What do you mean?" Baron Abellarde asks as if he didn’t understand what the man said to him.

The knight scratched his head, fearing he might infuriate the baron even more than he already was.

"Are there any knights of the Duke?" Baron Abellarde inquires while clutching his cane.

"There was no one in the area, my Lord," the knight said, stepping back as the baron raised his cane and smashed the carriage’s glass window.

"DAMNED IT! The baron screamed as he destroyed everything inside his carriage.

He went down and walked toward the place, and when he did, he could enter it, which is odd.

The knights attempted to follow him but were unable to gain entry, unlike the baron.

Baron Abellarde frowned when his men couldn’t follow him.

"Just stay there and wait for me later!" As he walked away, he suddenly remembered that he had a mana stone. When he attempted to use it, only black smoke emerged.

----------

Acantha and the others went home to the Klartis house; they were already in the study to talk about how they should start finding the disciple of Abanoon when she looked at Flamear, who was uneasy.

"What’s wrong? She approached Flamear and affectionately patted his fur.

"I sense someone is using dark magic inside the north," Flamear said as he glanced at her.

"What?" she exclaims as she looks at him.

Who the hell is using the dark magic?

Helion also regarded Flamear with a frown.

Acantha stands up from kneeling in front of Flamear and walks to the window.

"Is there someone else with us here aside from the knights?" Acantha said as she looked at Helion.

"No, aside from us and the knights, there was no one else in here," he said as he looked at her.

"Then who was it?" "Then who was it?" Acantha asked, frowning in their direction.

How can someone enter a place that Flamear has already secured? The individual must possess the blood of Klartis.

There is only one family that descends from Klartis, excluding her and her mother.

She was back to reality when someone knocked on the door.

"Lady Acantha, Your Highness," they heard someone say behind the door.

"You can come in, Ernie." Helion responded, and Ernie proceeded to enter the room.

They noticed that Ernie’s expression was filled with anger.

"What was it, Ernie?" Helion asked Ernie, who sighed.

"There was an uninvited guest in the living room," Ernie said as he looked at them.

Acantha raises her brows at what Ernie said.

It seems like the person she was thinking of was already here.

"Let’s go," Acantha said as she walked through the door and led the way.

When they arrived at the living room, they saw the baron, who was sitting like he owned the place.

"To what do I owe your visit here?" Acantha spoke rudely as she descended the stairs.

The baron looks at her with disgust on his face.

"What do you mean, visit? This is also my house," the baron arrogantly said as he grimaced at her.

"What are you saying?" Acantha raises her brows at what the baron said to her.

How can this repulsive man claim this place as his own?

He doesn’t possess any traces of Klartis, except for a partial bloodline.

"Do you have any documents that will support your claim? As far as I know, I was the only heir of this house, as my mother, who is the former duchess of this place, died," Acantha said as she looked at him from head to toe.

Flamear was looking at the man in front of him; he could sense and see that there was black magic surrounding this man.

It was just a faint kind of dark magic, unlike the monsters that he and Acantha fought back then.

This person’s black magic was very weak, though he can sense the black magic that he sensed a while ago.

"You, what do you know about how to handle such a big role?" He heard the man yell at his master, which made him straighten his back as he was ready to fight this man if he did it.

And where is that dragon prince? He was walking with them a while ago, but now he wasn’t there anymore.

"What do you think you are doing, Lord Abellarde?" Flamear looks behind them, and there he sees the person he was looking for.

"Y-your highness," the man said as his voice was shaking, and Flamear saw that he kneeled in front of the dragon prince.

"Yes, it’s me. I can hear your voice all over the house," the prince asked the man, whose name is Lord Abellarde.

"W-what are you doing here, Your Highness?" Lord Abellarde asked the prince, who doesn’t show him any emotions, but Flamear can tell that he was angry as his breath is going up and down; it seems like he was just trying to refrain himself from bursting out.

---------

Helion looked at Baron Abellarde, who was looking at him with confusion in his eyes.

It seems like the baron didn’t expect to see him here.

The duke already told him that the baron might try to use force if he goes to the north and claims the place as his own.

The Baron always submitted some papers to his father about his birthright and claimed it to the north, which his father, the Emperor, always rejected, as the latter knew that his birthright was not that strong, as he was just a long, long cousin of the late duchess, and besides, the Baron didn’t even have some of the Klartis traits, which he failed, and his daughter has an even better claim than him as she has one of the Klartis traits, which is they can heal someone.

"What are you doing here, Your Highness?" He heard the baron ask him as he was smiling at him.

However, Helion was well-aware of the Baron’s potential and was aware of all his unscrupulous actions.

"I should be the one asking you that," Helion said as he looked at Baron, who stiffened as he said those words.

"I was just visiting the Klartis Duchy, Your Highness," he said as he looked at him like he was kind of a relative who was visiting his relative at their house.

Helion knew why the baron was here; it’s because he thinks that the duke wasn’t here and only his daughter.

He also knew about those knights he had outside the border who couldn’t enter the north because of the barrier that Flamear set up.

"I heard you were attacked by some monsters, Baron. You should have a rest instead of going here in this place," Helion said as he looked at Baron and walked in front of Acantha, who was holding Flamear in her arms as she was facing the Baron.

The baron couldn’t speak at what he said as he was looking at him while glaring. How could this man be so shameless to come in here without informing the duke?

Baron Abellarde thought he had the upper hand when he learned that the duke wasn’t here to protect Acantha, but he was wrong as he was here, and Helion doesn’t believe Acantha needs some protection as what he saw when she was fighting those monsters last time. He just wanted to do it on his own.

The baron was about to take a step when Flamear went on him and-
