They looked at the duke who was looks fuming mad, "And what did heard a while ago?" The duke looked at the son of his friend who let his daughter out from his arms.

"Fiancée?" He asked as he clenches his fist and he looks like he was ready to kill Evander who was still pale.

He knew better than to mess with his father’s friend, the duke was over protective to Acantha you will know if you’re close but if you’re not them you might think that he didn’t care for his daughter in the past.

Evander looked at the duke again who was now in front of him.

"Who told you that you’re my daughter’s fiancée?" The duke asked and he paled again, he lift his eyes only to see that the blood thirst monster crown prince of their empire was grinning like a devil.

"He was just fooling, father." Acantha was the one who answered as she can see that Evander can’t answer as he was scared of her father.

The duke looked at his daughter who was now trying to calm him, he looked back and saw that the crown prince was grinning, he tried looking at where his former pupil was looking at and he saw that he was looking at Evander who was still pale.

"And you? I don’t care if your the crown prince of this empire, as I told you before get away from my daughter!" The duke yelled at the crown prince whose face darkened when he heard those words.

He knew that the duke might be his former master and as one of his father’s trusted person and closest friend, he can’t make him do something he didn’t want to do.

Helion knew that the duke wasn’t scared of anything not even the Emperor as long as he is right, that’s what he always taught him when he was still his master.

He looked at the man again who just knew as the son of Count Triduexfort, the man himself is so arrogant unlike the count who was humble and kind.

"Useless!" The man said as he punched the other man who was kneeling in front of him. " How can you let someone stole that place from you?!" The man who was now in the floor was looking down as he get back and kneel again.

"I’m s-sorry my lord, I have tried everything to stop the duke from giving the land to his daughter," The man said as he was pleading at the other man who was wearing black cape as he also covers his face.

The people in the room were just watching as the man was being hit by their lord. They can’t help him as they all knew that they will be the one in danger if they did.

They just looked as their lord beat the man maniacally, they could all do was to watch as the latter grunt in pain.

"My, my lord I already s-sent them an assassin to kill her," The man said as he plead while grabbing their lords foot.

Their lord stop beating the man and he looked at him like he was pleased at what he heard, "Did they kill the lady?" Their lord asked as he looked at him again.

The man was about to answer when suddenly, "Count Abellarde!, Count Abellarde the assassins were defeated by the lady," Some said in the room, it was only a voice that they can hear as they knew that the count probably use some black magic to sent an assassin.

The man who turns to be count Abellarde looked at their lord as he turned around again and this time he kicked him to the wall which made a loud bang.

Everyone who witness looks down to avoid looking at what happened to the count.

"Now, I want all of you to listen here! You all betrayed your own empire like this man, and I want you to do your part and don’t disappoint me again, if you do, you’ll be worse than this," Their lord said as he looked at them before disappearing in the win.

When he disappeared everyone who were in the room finally let go of their breathe, some of them wanted to get away from the place and confess to their emperor but they knew that the moment they signed the documents of their alliances against their own kingdom they already put a knife not juts on their neck but also their families neck.

They all looked at each other and everyone in the room feels regret on joining count Abellarde in betraying their own empire.

The empire who made their life safe they traded it because they were all power hungry just like the count.

"What are you all doing?" They heard the count shouted as he was still groaning in pain. They all looked at him," Get me some healers you fools!" The count said as he looked at them again.

The duke was still waiting for the two answer but it seems like they didn’t have the slightest intention to do so. He pulled his daughter and he was about to use his power to kick the two when suddenly he saw Flamear who was now biting an arrow and showed it to him

He looked at the arrow and he didn’t recognized where it was from but he can sense a faint of dark energy from the arrow itself.

"Where did this came from?" He asked as he showed to everyone the arrow which he got from Flamear.

Acantha on the other side sighed when she didn’t notice Flamear has sneaked and brought the arrow with her and show it to the duke who was now looking at it .

"There were some assassins here awhile ago father, "Acantha said as she looked the arrow that the duke was holding.

"Assassins?" The duke frowned at what his daughter told him, how can they enter the place? Is he too confident that no one can enter this place as it was guarded? how can he let something like this slip out of his head?

"We were just taking a nap in the garden when Mildred came to bring the snacks when I sense something was coming in our directions which made me pulled Mildred down, and we saw that arrow," Acantha explained and the three men were just listening to her.

"When we get up, I sense the same energy and we were attacked by the assassins, there were many of them that no matter how I hit them it seems like they were just multiplying, " She said and she didn’t mentioned the part where there’s was a light coming out of her hand which helped her a lot.

The duke looked at the arrow again, someone was trying to kill his daughter it must be one of his enemy? but if it’s one of his enemy shouldn’t they tried killing her way back then? why now?

Is it because she became the duchess of Klartis? but we still haven’t announced it yet. Arthur thought about it and if it’s because of her being the new duchess of Klartis then it must be Count Abellarde who was also claiming the place as his.

But, the count didn’t have enough money to get a sorcerer as far as he knew the county of Abellarde was in chaos for losing a lot of money. That was also some reason why the count was pushing his daughter so hard to be the crown princess.

"You two you should go home, " He said as he sighed while pointing the two, "Stop coming here !" He said as he pulled his daughter back inside the palace.

Acantha looked back to the two who was left as her father pulled her to go inside their house.

The two men who were left looked at each other and glared when they looked at each other.

Helion disappear from the wind as he didn’t want to waste his time for nothing.

Evander who was left alone walk his way out of the Solaris Duchy.

Acantha was now in her room and she was looking at her hands, Flamear was now sleeping at the small bed that she put for him after they had dinner that night.

She tried using her hand to see whether there will be light coming out on her hand and she was not disappointed when she did as she tried hitting the tree outside her room.

It’s good that no one was on her floor to hear the explosion she made, it was only her and Flamear who seems to woke up because of the explosion, he looked at her as if he was asking what happened.

"It was nothing Flamear, I was just trying if I am wrong or not," She said as she was assuring him.

Acantha look at the branch of tree she hit and she went back to lay down on her bed again as she already proven that she was not wrong about she saw this afternoon.
