I went to the pavilion and I already could see father with Helion while Flamear was sleeping in the grass.

I still haven’t looked around here yet and seeing how it looks still amazes me.

In Helion’s palace there weren’t many flowers there, while in here it feels like this place’s garden has been taken care of well.

"Aki..." Father greeted me as he stood up.

I couldn’t look in Helion’s direction, as the images of what happened this morning were still fresh in my mind.

Helion pulled me a chair as he was staring at me.

"What are you doing here today, Father?" I asked as I remembered that this hour he was supposed to be going to the duchy’s vassal place to see if they had some problems in their houses.

"I just wanted to visit you, as I feel lonely in the duchy; the house there is big but empty," he said as he looked at me.

I just nodded at him as I saw him glare at Helion, who was putting some food on a plate.

I looked at my plate as he seemed to be putting a lot of food in there.

"That’s enough..." I said as I looked at him.

"It seems like you two grew closer to each other," he said as he looked at us.

We didn’t answer, and father just started eating his own.

We spent the afternoon talking about our plans, but I also still can feel the tension between the two men.

Her father brought Helion with him, and as he said, he needed to introduce Helion to the people in the north, as she didn’t give up her title as the duchess of Klartis.

She sighed when she saw that Helion looked hesitant when the duke just pulled him and glared at him.

I sighed when it was already evening and Father and Helion were still not at home.

She knew what her father did.

Her father was trying to part her and Helion apart, as he knew the rules when it came to marriage in the imperial family.

I just shook my head as I slept.

I don’t know how long it was, but all I knew was something was moving inside the room.

I was about to stand when a hand pulled me by my waist, and I could feel the bed move.

"Let’s go back to sleep," I heard Helion whisper as he pulled me closer to him as he kissed me on my temple.

I don’t know; I am not used to sleeping with someone by my side, but I felt safe when I was in his arms.

I wake early but Helion was not beside me already. I looked at the bedside table and there I saw a note that he left.

Seems like one with my father wasn’t enough, as they went again together and will be back in the afternoon.

I took a quick bath and went downstairs.

"Your Highness..." the maids greeted me and I just nodded at them to acknowledge them.

I went straight to the dining room, where Mildred was already waiting for me.

"Join me, Mildred," I said as I was asking her to join me for breakfast.

"That’s not proper, Your Highness," she said as she shook her head at me.

"Nah, what’s not proper? I was just simply asking you to be my companion for breakfast," I said as I stood up and pulled her a chair and let her sit there.

Mildred was a little bit hesitant as she looked worried.

"You don’t have to worry, Mildred. No one will scold you here, and if someone does, I am here," I said as I looked at her.

Mildred ate her breakfast while she was sighing.

After I ate my breakfast, Mildred and I decided to tour the palace, which we didn’t do yesterday as I was occupied and still tired from the wedding.

"Can you imagine that? How can His Highness marry Lady Acantha in a short span? We didn’t even hear any proposal that happened," I heard one of the ladies say as they were gossiping.

Aren’t they supposed to be my lady-in-waiting?

"Yes, and didn’t you hear that she even kicked Lady Soo?" I rolled my eyes when I heard them talk about it.

"You’re right, Lady Nuchi," one of the ladies said and she even snorted.

"And why did we have to be her lady-in-waiting?" Lady Norich said as she rolled her eyes.

"Stupid! If we are here, lady-in-waiting, there’s a chance that we could be with the crown prince, and maybe we could be one of his wives," another woman said as she looked at the other ladies and smirked.

"I think you’re all stupid." they all turn around when someone speaks behind them.

I looked at who it was, and I saw Lady Dreanna with Lady Evangeline, who was now glaring at the other ladies.

"How dare you call us stupid? Coming from you two who came from a lower rank of noble families?" Lady Nurich said as she faced Lady Dreanna and Lady Evangeline.

"Do you think the crown prince will take you as his wife? Hahaha, you’re making us laugh." Lady Dreanna said as she chuckled at the other ladies.

"Your highness," I heard Mildred say, but I stopped her.

"He wouldn’t even looked at us as he was so in love with Her Highness," Lady Evangeline said as she glared back at Lady Nurich.

"And for you to say that we came from the lowest rank? Your father has a debt on us. does it make him and your family noble by name but the poorest among the nobles?" Lady Evangeline continued as she cut Lady Nurich’s words.

"You, how dare you!" Lady Nurich was about to slap Lady Evangeline, which she didn’t expect.

"What was going on in here?" I said as I revealed myself from hiding.

Lady Nurich’s eyes widened when she saw me while her hands were frozen in the air.

"What are you doing, Lady Nurich?" I said as I glared at her.

She looked at me and gulped as she put her hands down; it was only for a little. She looked at me with arrogance in her eyes.

"Your Highness," the other ladies greeted, but I could sense that they didn’t like it when they bowed their heads to me.

"Your highness, these ladies here were insulting me and my family," Lady Nurich said as she glared at Lady Evangeline and Lady Roys.

It seems like they were unaware of the relationship between the three of them.

"But that’s not what I saw, Lady Nurich," I said as I stared at her coldly, and I saw her composure was shaken a little.

"And I was here the whole time; I heard every single word you and the other ladies said. if you dislike being a lady-in-waiting , then you are free to leave now. Besides, I don’t need one; I have my own personal maid," I said as I pointed at Mildred, who was glaring at them.

They just looked down, but I saw some of them were clenching their hands into a fist.

"So, you’re here." I turn around as I hear that familiar voice.

The ladies started saying her name like she was kind of a famous person to them.

"Lady Dorkinya, what are you doing here?" Lady Noraya said to one of the girls who came to her side.

"Father said I should be here," she said as she looked at me and glared.

Noraya turns to me and crosses her hands; the other ladies were at her back like they were ready to fight her if she did something to their precious star.

I already expected her to come here to the palace the moment she learned about my marriage to Helion, but not today.

"What am I doing here?" she asked as she chuckled crazily.

"You have the face to ask me that after you throw me out of the empress’s palace, and then a week later you marry my man?" she said angrily. I could also see the veins in her neck as she was gritting her teeth in anger.

"Since when did my husband become your man?" I asked insultingly as I smirked and glared at her.

"You, everyone in the empire knows that Helion and I are destined to be together forever," she said as she clenched her hand.

"You’re delusional," I said as I raised my brows at her. "Helion was very clear that he didn’t like you as a woman in a bit," I said and I saw the burning anger in her eyes towards me.

I can sense that her energy was rising, but something also seemed to be stopping it from getting out.

Is Abanoon controlling her or what?

"You, how dare you steal what’s mine?" she said as she glared at me

"I didn’t steal anything from you; it was mine to begin with," I said, which made her stiffen at what I said.
