Villainess Want's To Ignore Them!
Chapter 141: Protective Father...

Chapter 141: Protective Father...

Acantha and Helion appeared in a field of flowers where he had taken her after they both disappeared.

"What do you want?" Acantha asked as she freed herself from Helion’s hand.

"I-I" Helion said as he was looking at her.

Acantha frowned at him as he was looking at the grass below.

How odd, gone was the bloodthirsty prince title, and what she was seeing now was a prince who looked like a lost puppy.

"I just wanted to apologize for all my mother said about you," he said as he looked at her in the eyes.

She didn’t say anything. All Acantha could do was to breathe deeply as she could feel so many emotions in her chest.

Why would he apologize for what his mother did?

Acantha doesn’t believe in saying that parents’ sin was also their child’s sin.

That was not right, and besides, did the child commit it? If yes, then the child should also be accountable for it.

"You don’t have to apologize," Acantha said coldly as she looked at him.

Now that she stared at his face, he looked like he hadn’t slept for days; the way below his eyes was black was a sign that he wasn’t sleeping much.

"No. Mother has been crossing the line many times; she goes overboard and yet I was just watching her do so," Helion said as he looked down again this time.

Yeah, Acantha admitted that she felt pissed at him rather than mad; she knows how much Helion loves his mother.

And by that he looked cowardly at what he did; hence she didn’t blame him.

If she were in his situation, she wouldn’t stand for letting her mother insult someone who didn’t do anything wrong.

"Is there anything you want to say more?" Acantha said as she wanted to leave the place, as she was really tired of Lady Yarin, to him.

Can she have a break from drama?

"I just wanted to -"

"Aki, there you are." Acantha turned around and saw her father, who was walking towards her, but his face seemed very dark.

"Father... Acantha said as she looked at him.

"I was looking for you at the banquet," the duke said to him, and it seems like he just ignored Helion’s presence.

"Father, I was with company..." Acantha said as she acknowledged Helion’s presence to her father, who clenched his jaw before he turned to where Helion was.

"Your Highness..." His father greeted coldly. He didn’t even bow to give some respect to Helion.

"Duke..." Helion greeted her father with the same tone.

The two just stared at each other and Acantha could feel the tension between them.

"What are you doing here with my daughter, Your Highness?" Her father asked without even breaking their eye contact.

"I was just talking to Lady Acantha before you interrupted us, Duke," Helion also said as he still didn’t break the eye contact between him and her father.

"And what did you two talk about?" Her father asked Helion calmly, but there was something else with his tone that Acantha was too tired to identify.

"And why would I tell you?" Helion answered her father and he even smirked without batting an eye towards the duke, who also smirked back at him.

"Did you tell Aki about your cowardness?" The duke said, which made Helion clench his jaw, as Acantha could see.

"Can you please stop it already?" Acantha said as she looked at the two who didn’t even look at her.

As she was tired, she left them there, as she wanted to go home and sleep.

She even forgot to bid her goodbyes to Lady Dreanna and Lady Evangeline because of the two man-children.

----------------

Helion was facing the duke and he looked mad at him.

He was delayed in going in here as the duke’s people were trying to stop him from coming in here.

He didn’t have any problems with dealing with them, but the damned duke was a sly one.

He made some people lure him to the count’s old residence, which was guarded by Diego.

He saw him before he could even reach near the house.

Diego was the duke’s trusted man, and he thought that he was there as his right hand was also there.

He had a hard time defeating Diego, as he too once served as one of his mentors, and he respected him as one of his masters.

He even looked for Jarnus and Ernie and saw that they too were having a hard time as they were caught with so many Solaris knights.

And when they finally learned about where the banquet was. They can’t enter the place as it was guarded by a barrier, which he knew was the duke’s doing.

The sly duke must have conspired with Flamear to set up a barrier against him, as he saw some guests entering the place.

"Now what?" The duke asked as he was looking at him.

Helion was clenching his hands, remembering not to touch the duke, as he was Acantha’s father, and beside him.

If there is someone who could beat him without using any of their powers, it would be the duke.

He wasn’t named as the cold-blooded duke of the south if he was weak.

Helion had seen him fight so many times, and the duke was very powerful.

"What cowardness did you tell my daughter again?" The duke repeated his words from a while ago.

Helion knew that the duke was right, and he was angry because he was right.

He was a coward who couldn’t even stand against his mother.

And the duke was mad at him because of that.

He was mad that he didn’t even stand up for his daughter when his mother did all those rumors about her.

"If you are going after my daughter, I will tell you now that I don’t want you for her," the duke said, which made Helion stiffen at what he just said.

"You think I didn’t know and notice that you have some feelings for my daughter?" The duke continued as he clenched his fist.

"I had a high hope for you at first. I said you were my pupil and that if I died, you would be there for my daughter and be her shield, but how could I give her to you when you couldn’t even stand up for her when your mother started condemning her and the rest followed her?" The duke said, and Helion could feel the anger, the betrayal, and the pain in his voice.

Yes, the duke was right again.

He never stood for her.

He wasn’t there when she needed him the most.

He wasn’t there to protect her from those rumors and people that his mother sent and started.

"Now, tell me, how could I let you still be near to her?" The duke continued.

"I just wanted to talk to her," Helion said as he sighed. He tried so hard not to show any emotions on his face like he used to do.

"You have no right to even have a glimpse of my daughter after what your mother did," the duke said as he glared at him.

"The empress who hated my daughter, who didn’t even thank her for saving her life?" The duke said angrily.

"I don’t want you near my daughter again, not when you were this coward," the duke said, not letting him say anything.

He just stood there while listening to his words.

The duke’s words keep on playing in his mind.

He knew he was right.

But that won’t stop him from looking for Lady Acantha.

Call him mad or crazy.

He won’t just give her up.

Not a chance.

Helion looked at the place where the people were still having a party and teleported himself inside.

There he saw his mother, who was now talking to his father in one of the rooms.

She lookedike she was in distress.

"Helion, where have you been!" His mother rushed towards him and hugged him tightly.

His father just looked at them while he was shaking his head.

"Why did you leave me here in humiliation because of that girl?" his mother said as she looked at him angrily after she broke their hug.

"That girl has a name, Mother, and her name is Lady Acantha," Helion said coldly, which made his mother look at him like she was surprised when he talked back at her.

"Are you going against me again?" His mother asked him angrily.

"No, I am going to straight everything straight," Helion said as he answered back his mother who gasped at what he said.

His father just looked at them while his mother was looking at him like she was still in shocked

Helion looked at his mother before he took a step and sighed. He totally left the room and disappeared from the place.

He was going to correct his mother’s mistake and be man enough for the woman he loved.
