Vile Rabbit -
Chapter 163 163: journey to the past 3
Soon, they arrived above the civilization. He noticed that it was a civilization for the Innate Ones.
There were over a million of them, extremely shocking, considering that each Innate One was at least a 7th-tier being.
He couldn't help but wonder how many Innate Ones the Hanging Tree had under his banner. He only knew of the five 8th-tiers, the so-called Great Ones. As for those below, he didn't ask, for he didn't think they were of importance.
He followed the creature toward a palace that stood at the center of this civilization. They entered. Upon entering, he was greeted by a runic hallway that led to a huge chamber with a massive throne carved from some type of white runic rock.
On this throne sat a figure identical to the one he was following, same skin tone, same hair, and even the same armor, as if they were clones of each other.
But he knew that was not the case, for they were twins.
'A twin innate one how peculiar.'
He thought and it truly was odd considering the birth method of the innate ones, being born to the core of a realm, 'these two must have been born to two neighboring realm clusters… or to a single but extremely strong one." He deduced…
As they entered, the figure seated on the throne leaned forward slightly, gazed at the figure he was following, and asked in a curious tone,
"Brother, what's wrong? Wh—"
But before he could finish, his brother interrupted,
"Brother, ______! He has gone mad with greed! He aims to destroy everything in existence! We must point our blade against him and aid in slaying him before it is too late!" he shouted, his voice laced with multiple, extreme emotions. His aura blazed brightly, causing web-like cracks to appear across the entire palace.
Cra-crack!
The throne brother stood. His eyes shone with confusion.
"N-no, that's not possible. You must be mistaken. Father would never succumb to something such as greed… He would never, ever use his power to harm others… so you must be wrong," he muttered in a weak tone, filled with disbelief and denial.
Hearing him, the other brother's eyes shone with irritation along with many other extreme emotions. He then grabbed his brother's shoulders firmly, gazed directly into the depths of his eyes, and shouted with anger:
"Brother! Now is not the time for denial… You knew what I say to be truth even before I arrived here. You must have sensed it, time is in chaos! You also hear it the fate strings of all existence are crying out in horror… so why deny it? Why refuse to believe the truth before your eyes!?"
"_______ is no longer the kindhearted father you once knew. Now he's just a monster, a thing, an abomination hell-bent on destroying all there is in order to satisfy his greed!"
"You can no longer hide from the truth! Now it's time for you to make a choice. You either stand with all there is and point your blade at him, or stand with him and point your blade at all there is!"
Tears of blood began to flow from the other brother's eyes, and he wept.
"Yes! Yes! I should not and must not deny it any longer. I can no longer hope that this is a dream… But what can be done? Even if all of existence stand against him, there is a high chance we will lose… So maybe we should just accept this true fate."
Slap!
Shatter!
The other brother slapped him with such ferocity that a few of his teeth flew out, and the palace, capable of withstanding 8th-tier blows shattered. Only the throne remained intact. The Innate Ones outside gazed toward them in terror and confusion.
"Brother! Stop running! This isn't something you can escape!
Plus, the war has already begun! MOTHER, THE WILLFUL ONE, THE ONE SITTING AT THE END, and THE SLUMBERING BEGINNING are already locked in mortal combat with him across time as we speak!"
"ADAM and THE ENDER are also locked in combat with his Right and left Hand! But we are outnumbered! We need you, Brother the strongest Unwritten Sovereign, to tip the scales in our favor! To swing your blade without mercy, and together we shall slaughter the gods to extinction!"
"So that ______ cannot re-fuse with all his essence and become whole."
Apexion, who had been quietly observing, felt his mind buzz as he absorbed all the valuable information they were exchanging.
The throne brother's mind boiled as images of the being who was a father to him the first being he saw after birth and images of his kin, mother, and all of existence flipped in his mind in chaos at extreme speeds.
A second later, he made a choice that caused him so much pain it felt as if a part of his existence was being ripped apart. He let out a gut-wrenching scream:
"AAAAAAAH!"
After which, his bleeding eyes began blazing with determination. His armor began shining, and a giant blade materialized above him.
"I will stand with you brother. I stand with existence. I will fight in this WAR OF THE END!"
"Good!" shouted the other brother with excitement. "Let's march now, we have a lot to do."
After which, he vanished toward the world barrier.
Vash!
The throne brother also started vanishing, but before he completely could, he suddenly paused, turned, and gazed directly into Apexion's eyes and asked:
"What choice would you have made?"
Witnessing this, Apexion's eyes shone with countless ideas. He then turned and gazed toward the throne behind him and spoke in a calm tone:
"My choice is irrelevant… What you have done cannot be undone, at least not by you."
On the throne sat the brother, his armor broken and his eyes laced with hopelessness.
"Yes… The choice I made cannot be taken back… nor should it be,"
he muttered to himself in a daze before continuing,
"Sad, isn't it? This prison… forced to relive the moment I made the most painful decision of my life, over and over again, forever."
