Vile Rabbit
Chapter 162 162: journey to the past 2

He then stood up, and his missing hand reappeared. He pushed it into the breach once more, this time it didn't vanish and he could actually feel the breach.

It was like it was operating on a different frequency or time zone than him. Many calculations flashed through his mind as his time energy started twisting his frequency, attempting to match it with the frequency of the breach, in which it failed.

His eyes started shining brighter, and his crown blazed as his Apex Law pushed his control over his time energy to the apex, and his fate star twisted the probability of him succeeding to high.

"Aahhh!"

A few seconds later, his frequency matched that of the breach. He felt he had become one with it. He wanted to immediately enter it, but he suppressed the thought, stepped back, and a transparent version of himself manifested and entered the breach.

Shoosh!

His vision shifted. He saw that the projection was inside a colorless tube of time that pulled it toward the opposite end. It traveled and traveled when suddenly a horrifying glowing chain akin to the ones the universe uses to maintain order appeared and shattered it. There was no resistance whatsoever.

"A defense mechanism of the time seal."

Many ideas flashed through his mind. A few weeks later, his eyes flashed, and an obsidian, ethereal banner appeared above him: the Invader's Banner.

He grabbed it and started engraving countless concealment runes with time energy on it. A few seconds later, another projection appeared.

The banner flashed above its head, after which it flashed into the breach.

Shoosh !

It traveled a long distance far farther than the previous time before it encountered a transparent barrier that scanned it. After which,Pash! A law chain destroyed it.

Apexion's eyes narrowed for a second as he sank into deep deduction. A second later, ten banners appeared around him.

He inscribed them, then a projection appeared and flashed into the breach once again.

This time, it crossed all obstacles and reached the end of the tube but before it could exit, it suddenly aged and vanished.

"Time stealing a portion of one's life span… not ideal, but it is manageable," muttered Apexion, as thousands of banners appeared around him. He engraved them, then gazed toward the exit of the forbidden echo one more time before entering the breach.

Even though he had multiple clones and resurrection backups in place, he hoped he didn't die on this venture for this was his main body, and its destruction would be an almost incalculable setback.

Unfortunately, it alone met the requirements for this venture.

Whoosh!

He moved toward the opposite end of the tube at extreme speed, millions of times the speed of light. As he traveled, his Fate Star twisted the probability of him being discovered to the lowest.

Soon, he passed the barrier and reached the end of the tube. But right before he exited it, a wave of time washed over him. His body shivered slightly, and his eyes opened wide, as he felt a large portion of his lifespan vanish.

'Five billion years.'

That was about half of his lifespan, a steep price to pay just for entering. If he had to pay that price again upon exiting, it would be a sticky situation. His hair would definitely turn gray.

Shoosh!

He exited the tube and appeared above ground. He scanned the environment.

The atmosphere was far, far more ancient. The ascension particles were far denser. The runes and laws were far more emboldened even a tier-one creature could sense these runes, and a tier-four creature could gaze upon the laws.

The gravity was also far stronger only tier-three creatures could survive it.

Instantly, he noticed that he had lost connection to all of his clones, something that he had foreseen.

He stood above a giant, primitive forest that stretched for millions of light-years. It shimmered with savagery and vitality, laced with countless different species each unique and stronger than the average species from his era, being at least third tier, some even sixth tier, and none of them were path travelers.

At the center of this forest stood a giant civilization of towering runic structures. Its aura reminded him of the Innate Beings.

Suddenly, he noticed something that caused him to frown. He then vanished and appeared before a group of giant ant-like primal creatures who had flaming halos behind their heads.

He stretched out his hand to touch them, but it went right through. The next second, they walked through his body as if he weren't there. His eyes narrowed even more, and he launched a slight will attack at them but still, no interaction.

It was as if he was in another dimension.

He vanished and reappeared before another group of creatures these deer-like with wings. He tried interacting, but the conclusion was the same.

"Could it be that I am not completely in tune with this time period?" he pondered, as he scanned his existence along with his Invader's Banner. A second later: "No, I am perfectly in tune… so what is the problem?"

His thoughts spun. His will surged. His starry eyes darted about. A few minutes later, he somewhat penetrated the truth of the reality around him.

'A mirage, something akin to a memory.

This time period, this forest it wasn't real in a true sense. It was more of an illusion'

He deduced that there was a high probability it was a replica of the real thing.

Countless ideas flashed through his mind, when suddenly he sensed the presence of an eighth-tier Innate Being, and gazed upward.

Above him, a giant, pale-skinned humanoid with long white hair in shimmering white armor pierced the realm barrier of this fortress.

Its expression showed extreme anxiousness as it moved at extreme speed toward the civilization at the center of the forest.

Vash!

Apexion thought for a second before following it. In no time, he reached beside the creature. It didn't notice his presence either.

Upon closer observation, he could tell that this creature shouldn't be taken lightly, it was an elite among elite, a supreme warrior. It radiated an aura equivalent to that of the Hanging Tree.
