Chapter 199: Little Visit

As soon as those words left Lena’s lips, she bowed respectfully and began to leave, giving the couple their moment.

Lilia’s eyes remained wide with surprise—she hadn’t expected that. She turned to Zethan, who was staring at her. For the first time, Lilia could clearly see the look on his face: pure surprise.

She quietly whispered, "Zethan, it’s... pregnancy. I am pregnant."

To her surprise, Zethan stood and gently pulled her into a hug. He placed a soft kiss on her cheek and spoke in a low voice, his expression still filled with surprise.

"I didn’t expect that, my wife."

Lilia nodded, adding, "Neither did I. I thought something bad was happening to me today. Who knew it was because of my pregnancy?" she added with a soft giggle.

Zethan’s lips curled into a quiet smile, and before Lilia could say more, he pulled her into a gentle kiss. Then he sat back down and spoke again, his voice tender.

"My wife... this is very good news."

Lilia nodded, giggling. "It’s great news, in fact."

Zethan reached for her tummy and caressed it softly.

Lilia chuckled. "There won’t be any baby bump yet, Zethan," she said quietly.

Zethan couldn’t help but grin. "But at least let the baby get used to his father’s hand."

Lilia raised an eyebrow and asked with a smile, "How sure are you that it’s a ’he’?"

Zethan shrugged. "How sure are you it’s a ’she’? What if it’s both—a he and a she?"

Lilia giggled again. "Oh yeah, true. After that sleepless night, I’m very sure we’re having quadruplets."

Zethan shook his head with a small laugh. "Wouldn’t that be too much for you?"

Lilia glanced at him, surprised that her husband was already thinking ahead to the delivery.

"Oh, honey... aren’t you the one who wanted that?"

Zethan nodded. "Yes, I did. But you’re important too."

Lilia sat with her hands warm in her lap, then slowly reached out to cup Zethan’s face, her eyes soft. She spoke quietly, "Oh my goodness, Zethan, you are so sweet."

Zethan simply shrugged, his usual charm in full display. "You are the sweetest, wife," he said with a slow wink.

Lilia narrowed her eyes at him playfully. "Can you be serious for once?"

Zethan shook his head, grinning. "How can I be, when a beauty is sitting right in front of me?"

Lilia rolled her eyes, giggling softly as Zethan smiled even wider. Then she asked, her voice low, "Does this mean our child... will be a vampire?"

Zethan nodded.

"Yes my wife" his lips curled up.

A soft smile tugged at her lips. "Wow... and he’ll be strong, just like his father. And he’ll have his mother’s genes, because we wouldn’t want a cold, stoic little boy."

Zethan chuckled his eyes glinting. "You see? Now even you think it’s a boy."

Lilia shrugged. "Oh no. Maybe it’s twins."

Zethan nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe."

Lilia leaned back slightly, her voice light. "I wouldn’t mind having a half-vampire child," she whispered, giggling again.

But Zethan’s expression turned calm and sincere as he responded, "It’s kind of hard... to train them. What if you..."

Lilia shrugged, her gaze unwavering. "Then that’s why we’re here. We’ll do it together."

Zethan nodded, his heart warmed by her words, and looked at her with deep admiration—grateful and more certain than ever of their future.

To Zethan’s surprise, she hesitated for a moment, then held up her fingers as she spoke softly, "Zethan... um, do you realize how many things—we’ll have to, well, handle in these first few months? Now that I’m pregnant, we, uh, really need to start preparing. Like... planning the baby shower, and the gender reveal, and buying baby clothes... and oh my gosh, there’s just so many things we’ll need to find for the baby."

A soft smile rested on her lips as she added quietly, "And oh..."

Zethan listened quietly and nodded.

She asked softly, "What about you, any other ideas?"

Zethan, clearly unsure what to say, began to rack his brain. This was all new to him. Before he met Lilia, he had never really thought about children or any of this. And now—actually now, with the fact that he’s going to have a child—his mind was almost blank.

Finally, he spoke quietly, "How about we travel somewhere once the baby is born?"

Lilia’s face lit up. "That’s a great idea!" she said, raising her hand for a high five.

Zethan quietly placed his hand against hers, and she clapped softly. "Yay!"

Zethan couldn’t help but laugh as the two shared their excitement.

Meanwhile, Zack sat on the uppermost floor of his mansion, legs crossed. He took a light drag from his cigarette, his expression neutral.

"Boss, I think there’s a message from Ms. Ava."

Zack chuckled deeply, staring into the thin air. "What does she want this time?"

He spoke quietly, "Seems she’s asking you to take responsibility."

Zack’s eyes glinted gravely as he chuckled again, then burst into laughter. His laughter echoed, as if he’d heard something hilarious.

"What else does she want? I’m paying child support. How many months has it been again since the birth?"

The man replied, "One month and three days."

"Send her money then. Send her lots and lots of money. What other responsibilities does she want?"

The man bowed his head, careful not to cross any lines. "She said she wants you to talk things out."

Zack chuckled. "Talk things out about what?"

"About the child. She’s thinking about a father for the child, and she spoke about how if the child grows up and wants to know about the father, she wouldn’t really know what to tell him. She wants you two to make some kind of deal."

Zack shook his hand, brushing dust off his shoulders.

"What deal? She must be joking if she thinks I’d take things seriously with her. I told her from the start—we all did it for our own benefit."

He spoke lazily, blowing smoke from his cigarette once more.

"And now she wants to tie things together? Says who? She was the first to open her legs, all to make Zethan jealous. All this insecure woman stuff," he said, as if generalizing to everyone, chuckling quietly.

The man bowed slightly, speaking quietly in front of his boss. Then he raised his hand.

"You know what? Send her a message. Seems like I need to put some sense into her cute little head," he said quietly, a mocking edge in his voice. The man beside him simply nodded.

His eyes darkened as he took a drag from his cigarette, blowing out the smoke slowly.

Another man entered, holding a tablet. On the screen was a picture of Lilia and Zethan walking into the company together, dressed in matching outfits.

He spoke softly, a flicker of something flashing in his eyes.

"Wow, my brother is enjoying himself with his wife. And here I am, sitting and planning how to ruin it. Isn’t that quite the quiet game?"

He turned to the man with a tilted gaze.

The man nodded. "You are very correct, boss."

Zack then spoke quietly, "Repeat my words."

The man looked confused. "Repeat what you said?"

"Yes. Repeat exactly what I just said."

The man hesitated, trying to think.

"B..Boss, you said—"

"Why the stutter? You agreed, meaning you knew you had to have a backup for the agreement. So you must’ve heard me to agree, right? Now tell me exactly the words I said."

The man’s eyes widened—these days, the boss’s mood had been so sour.

Zack said, "Take the tablet. You’re dismissed."

The man bowed respectfully, calming his breath.

But just as he walked toward the door—boom! Bullets flew straight into his ear, and his body crumpled to the floor.

Zack raised his hand as another man stepped out from behind.

"Clean this up. Leave no trace, no smell. This is my favorite lounge to stay," he ordered.

Zack crossed his legs and raised his hand. Another man stepped forward, and Zack spoke quietly, "Prepare the car."

The man nodded, then glanced up as he added, "Mr. Zack, a text just came from Miss Nancy. She’s asking if she’ll be meeting you tonight."

Zack pulled his hands away and said calmly, "Cancel her. Decline." Then he added, "Send her the money she needs."

The man nodded again and stood aside.

Zack flicked his cigarette to the floor and walked toward the room.

He removed his clothes and slipped into a crisp white shirt, a tie, and matching trousers. Before putting on his shoes, the room was already brightly lit—everything in its place, not a single stain or trace out of order.

When he gets angry, it was clear he was annoyed; even the smallest mistake could be fatal. Everyone feared him, including his own guards, especially after the recent incident that had served as a stark testament.

Finally, he straightened his tie and brushed his hair back before running his fingers through it, leaving it rough, disheveled, and charming—far from the neat look he might have wanted, but his handsomeness remained undeniable.

He walked down the stairs and stepped out of the mansion with quiet grace.

As he entered the car, it began to move.

The man asked softly, "Boss, where are we going?"

He smirked, a slow curl of his lips.

"How about a little visit to my brother?"
