Chapter 597: Pest Extermination Operation

Chapter 597: Chapter 597: Pest Extermination Operation

"I won’t move!"

The glass doors of the exhibit hall suddenly swung open, and instantly, the security guards raised their hands.

The young man who walked out trembling almost peed his pants. Did there have to be so many crossbows pointing at him?

"I’m an employee of the South Palace Museum; this is my work ID. The person you’re looking for left before you arrived."

"Raise your hands and walk over slowly."

"Okay, please don’t get excited. There are only some staff members inside now, including our former director and current consultant. Everyone else is a big name in the cultural field. If something happens, you won’t be able to walk away from it."

As the young man spoke, he raised his hands and walked up to the steps, where two tactical response warriors immediately came forward, detained the young man, and dragged him down the steps.

"Hey, be gentle."

"Do you have to be so rough? I’m a national employee."

"Deputy team leader, there are no weapons on him, and his ID shows he’s a South Palace employee."

"You just said the person we were looking for has already left; do you know who we’re looking for?" the deputy team leader asked, looking at the young man, who nodded repeatedly.

"There was a fight outside the exhibit hall earlier, and we all saw it. Those security guards were brutal—over a dozen of them managed to leave scores lying on the ground without a scratch on themselves. These guards were practically at Divine Level."

"Focus! Where did they go afterward?"

"I don’t know about that; after the fight, the losing side fled in disarray. That woman then found my teacher and told us, ’Please take care of this place.’ Then, they just left."

"Oh, right, she also said someone would definitely come later, and she told us to protect the antique cultural artifacts here."

The young man said.

"A woman?"

"Uh-huh, she’s the owner of these artifacts. A damn beautiful girl, an M-citizen of Yan Country with an angel’s face and a devil’s body. But this girl isn’t the frail type; she was fierce in action, a veritable witch."

"The leader of the group that came earlier was trampled and ground under her foot—it was pitiful to witness."

The deputy team leader furrowed his brow.

"Go in and check directly."

"Yes!"

Immediately, the private security team stepped over the stairs, not letting down their guard as they rushed into the exhibit hall. A few minutes later, they had searched the hall.

"Deputy team leader, we’ve searched inside. Like he said, no sign of the security guards, just about a dozen South Palace employees, and except for three or four young ones, the youngest are all in their fifties or sixties."

The deputy team leader furrowed his brow—had they run?

Had they anticipated them coming earlier?

"Retreat."

"Yes."

At once, the squad of private security turned to leave.

"Huang team leader, Huang team leader, we came up empty over here. The target left early, and their whereabouts are unknown; please advise."

"Empty-handed? Okay, I understand. Bring your squad to my location."

"Yes!"

"Let’s go."

The deputy team leader got into the car and drove away. Meanwhile, outside the club, several unmanned surveillance drones took off from above the trees and entered the area occupied by the club.

The drones’ thermal imagers captured every heat source below, completing a coverage sweep within a few short minutes.

"Huang team leader, drone surveillance found no human heat signatures."

"None?"

Huang An furrowed his brow, trying to figure out what the enemy was playing at.

"Search again, and if there’s still nothing, break in through the main entrance."

"Yes."

The drones circled again in the sky, and still nothing was found. Huang An ordered a rapid tactical assault, and vehicles charged through the main entrance, driving straight to the club’s lobby.

"Take down the surveillance here."

"Yes!"

Then came the sound of a few snaps, as cameras around the perimeter of the club were shot and destroyed. Inside the underground club control center.

Wen Tong watched the screens go static and turned to look at Li Feng.

"Feng, it’s not too late to turn back now. How can you fight against these fully armed private guards with your bare hands?"

"Using firearms to kill is the lowest method."

"Don’t you want to know how I can oppose your former master? Well, open your eyes and watch carefully."

Li Feng put his feet down and abruptly stood up, walking to Wen Tong, patted his shoulder, and then coldly walked towards the door.

Outside the control room door.

The Dragon Guards bodyguards were stationed on both sides of the corridor, their gazes directly landing on Li Feng.

"It’s been a long time since I tested you all. This time, consider it an assessment. Capture the weapons but do not kill. The group that captures the most gets a reward; the one with the least gets to wash the other three groups’ dirty socks for a month."

"Hunt on your own; begin."

"Yes, Young Master."

The Dragon Guards bodyguards were eager for action, quickly disappearing into the vast mansion under the leadership of their respective team leaders.

"Young Master, the other party has gone down to the basement via the elevator."

"I know."

Li Feng smiled coldly, clearly unaware that he had taken complete control of the club. What Li Feng was playing now was a trap; he never intended to so easily dominate the club.

The pride of the ten great families still mattered. How could they just accept being defeated without so much as a peep?

They would certainly try to take back this place, using whatever resources they had at their disposal, of course, within a certain limit.

Li Feng was certain they wouldn’t dare cause a scandal; after all, the club he took over was merely founded by a bunch of nobles and rich young masters.

So, at most, this matter would be considered a squabble among the younger generation, especially since his father, Li Mingrui, was not one to be easily handled.

Li Feng dared to expose his identity and openly take over this club because he knew this fact well; of course, he wasn’t completely betting that his father wouldn’t sell him out.

This was a bold gamble.

But even if he lost the bet, Li Feng could still get away unscathed, although he might never be able to set foot on this land again.

Inside the elevator descending underground, Huang An took a deep breath.

"After entering, do not act rashly. We’ll hold the elevator entrance until we’re sure of what the opposition is like, so move carefully."

"So after we arrive, we’ll proceed cautiously, leaving no opportunity for the enemy."

"Yes!"

The elevator came to a halt, and the doors were yanked open. Huang An, leading his team, rushed into the elevator shaft.

"Take advantageous positions, quick!"

Soon, the space around the elevator shaft was secured, and Huang An didn’t rush forward but waited ten minutes for more of his team to arrive.

"Send one team to the control center to ensure their safe arrival and secure it."

"Yes!"

"Leave a group to guard the elevator, the rest divide up into groups and clear out whoever’s encountered."

"Did you hear me?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, start the pest elimination operation."

Having assigned tasks, Huang An led his team into the corridors ahead.
