Chapter 589: Chapter 589: Close Protection Dragon Guards
Ye Haolong lifted his eyes to Li Feng, who had cursed him for being poor, and offered a cold smile from the corner of his mouth.
"Heh, you ask what I rely on?"
"Just because I am Ye Haolong."
"As for you, daring to question me, where do you get that confidence from? Just because your dad is Li Mingrui, or because you are currently the chairman of Century Group?"
Ye Haolong stared down Li Feng with disdain: "In my eyes, you’re no different from an ant. Me taking your stuff is me giving you face. And you still dare to haggle with me? You really don’t know how to appreciate."
"But that’s not surprising. After all, you’re a wild bastard raised in the wild, utterly clueless about what reverence is, actually believing that you earned everything by yourself. If your dad weren’t Li Mingrui, you’d be worth nothing."
"Do you know what kind of people I despise the most?"
"Those who don’t even know their own weight yet think so highly of themselves. Since you prefer punishment over a polite drink, just wait and see how I, Ye Haolong, will handle this."
Having spoken coldly, Ye Haolong lifted his foot and left.
Wen Tong watched Ye Haolong leave, then coldly turned her gaze towards Li Feng: "Heh, you can count on one hand the people who dare to provoke Young Master Ye. I admire you for that!"
"Idiot!"
Wen Tong spat out two words, followed by a continuous sneer as she left.
Zhang Chang looked at Li Feng with a bitter expression: "Little brother Li, what did I tell you before coming? ’Let go, let go, with letting go comes gaining.’"
"And look at you now, all your efforts gone to waste, and you’ve even managed to anger Ye Haolong."
Li Feng turned his head towards Zhang Chang: "His surname is Ye. There aren’t many in the upper echelons with the Ye surname, and clearly, he is someone you’re wary of, meaning his status is even higher than your Zhang Family. If I’m not mistaken, he must be a descendant of General Ye!"
Zhang Chang nodded. Indeed, Ye Haolong was a direct descendant of that individual, and this club was their private preserve. Even with his background, in front of them, he still fell short.
Because regardless of who took power, these individuals’ rights and status would remain unaffected. On the contrary, if you wanted to secure your position, you needed their support.
"Li Feng, what you’re doing is bringing trouble to your father."
Li Feng smiled contemptuously.
"Nothing but rats hiding their heads but showing their tails, daring to show up in a place of elegance."
Zhang Chang looked at Li Feng speechlessly. This guy even dared to look down on the club. How arrogant did one have to be? Zhang Chang couldn’t tell if Li Feng was ignorant and fearless, or aware yet disdainful.
The former would be normal, given that not everyone had the privilege to engage with the club. If the latter were true, it would be just like what Ye Haolong questioned: on what basis?
You, Li Feng, on what basis?
Because your dad is Li Mingrui? Or because you’re the chairman of Century? But those things have no worth in front of their club.
Your dad is Li Mingrui, but even he wouldn’t become a target for everyone’s arrows for your sake. As for that chairman of Century, with the club’s power, they can bring down a listed company with countless strategies.
If Ye Haolong really made a statement, all the previous buying and selling deals with Century Group would fall through. Who would dare to go against the world and do business with you?
"Li Feng, do you understand the situation now?"
Zhang Chang sighed. He actually quite liked Li Feng’s temperament but lamented that Li Feng was stubborn.
"Mm!"
"Your things are probably already on their way back to the club. Whether you agree or not, you still can’t keep anything; here in Jin City, there isn’t a thing we can’t accomplish."
"Even if you resist, it will just be a futile effort like the mantis trying to stop a chariot."
The sky was obscured by dark clouds that hid the moon.
A dozen cars drove directly to the front of the exhibition hall, and with a clang, the doors of a business van swung open. A group of burly men in suits and leather shoes stepped down, led by one at the front. Dozens of them quickly gathered behind him, presenting an imposing front on the stairs outside the exhibit hall.
"Stop right there."
A security guard barked out an order.
The man in the lead glanced coldly at the guard and simply hooked his finger. Immediately, two hulking brutes charged at the shouting guard.
"Shut the hell up with your yelling, keep your damn mouth shut."
One of the strongmen reached out his thick arm, aiming for the guard who was shorter than him. But in an instant, the seemingly insignificant guard moved like lightning, grabbing the attacker’s wrist.
Snap.
In a moment, the strongman was kneeling on one knee. Before he could react, the security guard kicked out, sending him flying backward, and he crashed to the ground at the intruders’ feet, facing up.
The other strongman suffered the same fate and was swiftly pinned down by the guard, who then lifted his eyes, a gleam of excited coldness flickering in his gaze.
The leader’s brows furrowed; the two men who’d been taken down were not weak by any standard. Even an average one could take on ten of those street hooligans. After all, having the qualifications to be a club’s bodyguard meant being one in a hundred.
The man did not issue another command when the glass doors of the exhibit hall were pulled open, revealing seven or eight security guards who came out breathing heavily and looking very disorderly.
One of them took a big breath, wiped away tears from the corner of his eye, glanced at the dark crowd opposite him, and noticed their overwhelming black suits.
"Oh boy, someone really dared to raid the place."
"Hey, you over there, I’m giving you three seconds to get the hell out of my sight, or don’t blame me for beating you so bad you won’t recognize your own parents."
The man coldly surveyed these disorganized security guards, too impatient to waste words, and raised his hand, about to give an order when the glass doors opened again.
Tap tap.
Tap tap.
The crisp sound of heels clicking on the floor reached people’s ears, and the man squinted at An Xi walking out from behind the glass door. An Xi, appearing lazy as if she had just woken up, yawned and stretched.
"Disturbing my sleep in the middle of the night, you all must be sick of living."
An Xi’s gaze swept sharply across the group opposite her.
The man observed An Xi’s fierce eyes and alluring figure, and he couldn’t help but lick his lips.
"I like what I see, and since you can’t sleep, you might as well stay up all night."
An Xi clearly heard the flirtation in his words and scoffed with disdain, "Hey, did you hear that? He’s harassing me."
"You have one minute to deal with them, or I’ll complain to the Young Master, telling him you’ve been so busy sleeping with women that you’ve neglected your training and don’t deserve to guard the Young Master."
"Oh come on, Sister An Xi, you can’t screw us over like this."
"Yeah, since when do we sleep with women all the time?"
An Xi raised her wrist and pressed the stopwatch.
"The countdown has started."
The ten people at the door, upon hearing the countdown begin, underwent an instant transformation. Their previously lax auras sharpened like unsheathed blades.
These were the Death Soldiers, a kind of elite guard found in old, established families, bestowed by Li Feng’s grandfather, and Li Feng rarely used this hidden force.
Like ten drawn swords, they pounced straight towards the much larger crowd of men in black suits.
