Chapter 520: Chapter 520: In my eyes, you are all trash

"He’s done how many?!"

An instructor walked over and asked, looking at Li Feng doing push-ups.

"239!"

Liu Quan announced a number that seemed "incredible" – over two hundred. The instructor was also stunned for a moment, this was unexpected especially for those who had backdoor connections to get in; they were usually spoiled rich kids adept at wasting away their time in pleasure but hollow inside when it came to physical fitness.

Even seeing someone like that do a hundred push-ups would have earned a second glance from him.

"Are you sure you didn’t miscount?"

The instructor turned to look at Liu Quan, who wished he had, but then shook his head. Without another word, the instructor just turned back to watch Li Feng.

Li Feng continued his push-ups without a word, keeping a steady pace, doing one every second.

The instructor quickly counted to one hundred, and Li Feng was still going at that unfazed pace – upon adding Liu Quan’s earlier count, it was nearly reaching four hundred.

Could it be that this guy had trained before? He showed no signs of muscle cramps in his arms and legs and hardly sweated at all.

Five hundred push-ups wouldn’t be hard for those who trained regularly, but for the untrained, it was as difficult as ascending to heaven – the physical condition doesn’t lie.

Two minutes later.

Li Feng stood up from the ground: "Five hundred and twenty, the extra ones are on the house."

Liu Quan looked at Li Feng’s indifferent expression, damn it, was that look in his eyes a challenge? "Hmph, just five hundred push-ups, you think doing push-ups means you can start showing off?"

"Next up is the five-kilometer morning run, right, Instructor?"

The instructor glanced at Liu Quan and nodded.

He had thought that after five hundred push-ups, Li Feng would surely collapse; he hadn’t expected Li Feng to finish them, let alone exhibit such a surprising performance.

He certainly didn’t mind seeing how much potential he had left.

"Follow me, you won’t get breakfast until you finish this five-kilometer run." Liu Quan said and then took off running.

Li Feng watched Liu Quan’s retreating figure and followed.

Liu Quan deliberately picked up the pace, sprinting over a hundred meters before looking back. That’s when he saw Li Feng only two or three meters behind him, causing a sudden shock – when had he caught up?

"Don’t worry about me; I can keep up," said Li Feng casually, but it felt like a slap in Liu Quan’s face.

Keep up? Keep up if you can then.

Liu Quan sped up again, having been in this training camp for three years, he was well accustomed to five kilometers every morning and evening, and this wasn’t even a weighted run.

This time, he must have left Li Feng behind by at least ten meters.

Before Liu Quan could look back, Li Feng’s figure appeared beside him: "I’m warmed up now, care to speed it up a bit?"

Li Feng smiled at Liu Quan, who cursed inwardly – was this a challenge?

"Heh, I was holding back because I was afraid of leaving you too far behind. Since you can keep up, let’s pick up the pace."

With that, Liu Quan pushed off on his toes and increased his speed once more, this time sprinting; let’s see if he could still follow.

"Oh, look over there."

"What’s going on?" The new recruits who had just completed their five-kilometer run and were stretching, turned to look as the dawn sun crested the horizon and the sky lightened.

"That newcomer has actually overtaken Liu Quan."

Many eyes turned toward the two men. Li Feng was still unfamiliar to them, having only arrived the night before as an airborne newbie, but they had already been training with Liu Quan for a few days and knew what he was capable of.

Although Liu Quan was also part of the airborne troops, his strength wasn’t bad; at the very least, he could train with them without holding anyone back.

"The speed of these two isn’t slow."

Half a minute later.

"It looks like Liu Quan is slowing down, that airborne troop has left Liu Quan behind, tsk, seems like this airborne troop has quite the physical fitness."

"Yeah, before this he seemed to have done five hundred push-ups."

The elite selected from various units were now a bit concerned about this airborne troop; before, they hadn’t taken Li Feng seriously.

Now it looked like this airborne troop had some real skills.

Li Feng finished the five kilometers with ease, leaving Liu Quan trailing by over thirty meters. When Li Feng reached the line-up, his expression didn’t change, and he wasn’t even out of breath. Many of the elite looked at Li Feng with serious expressions.

This kid, his strength was noteworthy.

Liu Quan took a whole seven or eight seconds longer to reach the line-up and had even sped up along the way, which left him a bit breathless.

Seeing Li Feng’s composed demeanor, Liu Quan gritted his teeth, damn it, it’s just a bit of running, maybe this guy also runs regularly.

Yeah, that must be it.

When the weighted cross-country training comes around, this guy will surely show his true colors.

After breakfast and a brief rest, it was past seven o’clock. The team was directly pulled out to the training field within the camp.

Li Yuncong personally drove an open-top off-road vehicle to the training field, stopping in front of the troops. After that, Li Yuncong got out of the car, along with the person next to him.

Li Yuncong walked to the front of the troops: "At ease."

"Attention."

Li Yuncong surveyed the line-up and finally paused on Li Feng for a second before saying, "You all have been selected from various units as the best and the elite. However, to join our Blue Sword Special Combat Brigade, you’ll have to pass several assessments, because the Blue Sword only wants the strongest soldiers."

"Next, I’ll introduce the chief instructor for this batch, Yan Lie. Of course, more people probably know his nickname than his name."

"King Yan."

"All the rumors you’ve heard are true. He is Instructor King Yan. Every year, at least three to five new recruits die under his guidance, and for your batch, I’ll clarify one thing—five."

"Five death quotas, disabilities not included."

"So, anyone who wants to back out, do it now. Don’t feel ashamed, because compared to joining Blue Sword, you’ll still have prospects in your original units. If you get injured, disabled, or even die during this training, think about your future and your families."

Li Yuncong scanned the line-up.

"Nobody wants to step out?"

"Report, can I drop out?" Li Feng raised his hand.

Li Yuncong turned to look at Li Feng who had stepped forward, lifting an eyebrow, "The people I mentioned don’t include the airborne troops. For you, there are only two ways to leave this place: either leave incapacitated or dead, or pass the training and walk out with your head held high."

"Oh, and by incapacitated I don’t mean some minor muscle or bone injury, I mean a disability of level three or higher."

"Any other questions, Airborne Troop Li Feng?"

Li Feng’s face twitched, this guy was deliberately making things difficult for him: "No more questions."

"Fall in!"

Li Yuncong turned back around, "Since no one is dropping out, then the chief instructor will now address you."

Yan Lie stepped forward, his tiger-like eyes scanning the new recruits.

"In my eyes, you’re all trash."
