Chapter 517: Chapter 517 Trapped by a Scheme
Li Feng left the hotel and got directly into a black Mercedes-Benz that was waiting at the front door, but the car didn’t head straight for the train station or the airport.
"Where are we going?"
Li Feng frowned, realizing this was not the road leading to Yunhai Airport.
Kaiyang explained, "Young master, we are heading directly to the military airport in Yunhai, where there is an aircraft waiting for us."
The Mercedes drove for a long time on a rural road, then turned onto a scarcely traveled path, passed through a mountain, and finally entered a military airport in the northeast of Yunhai.
After arriving at the airport, Kaiyang led Li Feng onto a military transport plane that headed straight for the Guard Camp Airport in Jin City.
An hour later, the transport plane gradually descended, and they had reached Jin City.
On the airport runway.
"Company commander, what mission requires us, in the middle of the night, to deploy our entire special unit? Give us a hint, will you?"
At this moment, a warrior from a company at the airport, belonging to Jin City’s elite Blue Sword Special Brigade—the top special brigade in Jin City Guard Camp, and naturally, the most powerful among the seven major Guard Camps.
"I don’t know."
"Commander, do you really not know, or are you pretending not to?"
"Hmm, you talk too much, everyone maintain discipline, the plane has arrived."
As the military transport plane landed and stabilized, the rear hatch immediately dropped, and Kaiyang escorted Li Feng down from the plane.
Li Feng spotted the warrior from a company belonging to the Blue Sword Special Brigade instantly.
Li Feng was familiar with this unit; each of the seven major Guard Camps in Yan Country had formed their own special brigades to explore special operations.
The Blue Sword was Jin City Guard Camp’s ace troop.
Kaiyang hurried forward a few steps and reported, "Reporting, Li Feng has been brought here, please take over."
After speaking, Kaiyang quickly stepped aside.
Seeing Kaiyang’s actions, Li Feng knew he’d been set up; the presence of a company’s warriors at the airport was seriously high regard.
"You must be Li Feng."
A middle-aged man stepped forward, scrutinizing Li Feng, who stood his ground, ready to see how things would unfold.
"Yes, I am Li Feng."
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Li Yuncong, Major General of the Blue Sword Special Brigade. Your father is my uncle, so technically, I am your cousin."
Li Feng responded with an "Oh," narrowing his eyes.
"However, that’s our private relationship. In public, you may call me cousin, but here, you must address me as Major General."
Li Yuncong eyed Li Feng.
Li Feng responded, "Major General Li, now that we’ve recognized each other, can someone send me away?"
Li Yuncong looked at Li Feng, a smirk forming, "Leave? You are not going anywhere now. From this moment, you are a military recruit under my command, and today I’m here to take you back for three months of basic training."
"Me, a soldier?"
"I wasn’t aware of this. Are you sure you’re not joking?" Li Feng looked at Li Yuncong, wondering what his estranged father was thinking, making him undergo basic training as some kind of joke.
"We never joke in the Guard."
Li Yuncong stepped forward, staring at Li Feng, "I don’t care how you used to misbehave outside, but let me tell you clearly, you had better follow orders during these three months, or else don’t blame me when military law takes its course."
"I’m not interested. Just tell your uncle that I, Li Feng, am not his pawn to manipulate."
"Li Feng, are you defying orders?"
Li Yuncong watched Li Feng turning to leave, his voice harsh.
Meanwhile, at the Li family’s residence in Jin City.
"Do you really want to throw that kid into the Guard Camp for discipline?" Wang Tiandao looked at Li Feng’s father, Li Mingrui across the room.
Li Mingrui picked up a chess piece, "I want to see how much more this kid is hiding."
Wang Tiandao burst out laughing, raising his gaze to Li Mingrui, "I thought you knew your son like the back of your hand. Turns out you don’t really know his depth."
Li Mingrui watched Wang Tiandao laughing and threw a document over, "This just came in this afternoon."
Wang Tiandao glanced at Li Mingrui, "You sure I can look at this?"
Li Mingrui hummed, "If I’m showing it to you, of course you can, just don’t be too shocked."
Wang Tiandao curled his lip; he was nearly sixty and had seen it all, not much could surprise him anymore.
However, after quickly scanning the document, Wang Tiandao’s expression turned grave as he looked up at Li Mingrui.
"Do you suspect Li Feng did this?"
Li Mingrui looked at Wang Tiandao, "It’s not a suspicion. The intelligence shows, this matter is linked to Feng."
Wang Tiandao naturally saw the list of events described in the document., Even without concrete proof, the intelligence analysis clearly linked the events to Feng.
"This kid’s got that capacity?"
Li Mingrui hummed, "And do you believe, this kid controls tens of billions of cash flow and has seized a major corporation? You didn’t just come to Jin City because of this."
Wang Tiandao scoffed, "Old Li, what are you saying? Are you thinking of backing out now? You said it yourself when Li Feng married into your family, a man of your position wouldn’t go back on his word, right?"
Li Mingrui certainly didn’t expect Li Feng to turn out so unexpectedly," Old Wang, this is no longer in our control."
Wang Tiandao glanced at Li Mingrui, "You’re really something, can’t even handle your own son."
Li Mingrui hummed, "Aren’t you keen on being his father-in-law? Then you try managing him."
Li Feng watched the warriors from a company surround him, sighed wearily, "Alright, you win, basic training it is."
Li Yuncong looked at the acquiescent Li Feng, "Smart move, kid. Otherwise, I’d have to carry you back today."
"Gather up."
Li Feng also realized there was no avoiding the situation and that it was likely orchestrated by his estranged father, perhaps because of that urgent delivery from Lijia State.
Sending him into basic training was possibly a way to test his mettle; a needless effort, just asking him directly would have sufficed.
Though he wouldn’t necessarily have answered.
Oh well, staying in the Guard Camp for three months, just coasting along should be fine, might even help things quiet down outside.
Li Feng turned his head towards Kaiyang, who instinctively stepped back, giving a sheepish look at Li Feng, "Young master, all of this was arranged by the Family Head, please don’t blame me."
"Go back and tell Li Mingrui thanks from me."
Kaiyang rolled his eyes. Is this how you talk to a father?
