Chapter 374: Chapter 374 A Coordinate
"This couldn’t be a bomb, could it!"
"Ah!"
Jin Beibei looked in surprise at a colleague beside her who said, "Didn’t someone maliciously send a bomb to the precinct before?"
"But it turned out to be just a prank, there was only an alarm clock inside, not a real bomb."
"It shouldn’t be one."
Han Dong picked up the mailed package, "If it were a bomb, it couldn’t be this light. Let’s open it and see."
"Let me do it."
Jin Beibei, unable to stop a wry smile, watched as her colleague cautiously stepped forward to open the package, wondering if a package really warranted such careful handling.
"Huh."
"What’s wrong, Big Zhou!"
"This package is empty."
"Empty? That can’t be right."
"See for yourself, it really is empty." Big Zhou turned the package upside down, and indeed, nothing fell out.
"Could this be another prank?"
"There’s been an increase in these pointless pranks recently. Check the mailing information for any useful clues; such people should be caught and properly taught a lesson."
"I think forget it, anyone sending prank packages like this must be brain-dead to leave any information behind for us to find."
The man nearby seemed unconvinced.
Jin Beibei, holding the mailed package, pursed her lips, "Who would be so bored?"
Her gaze swept over the sender’s information on the package, and she suddenly froze.
"Captain."
Han Dong, who was making tea at the water dispenser, turned his head upon hearing Jin Beibei’s exclamation, "What’s the matter, Beibei?"
"Zhao Chaotian."
"Zhao Chaotian?"
"Who picks such a name? Why not just call himself Zhao Ritian."
Jin Beibei took a deep breath, "Zhao Chaotian is that guy’s pseudonym; he’s still alive."
Han Dong reacted to the name as well and quickly stepped forward, "Beibei, check to see what else there is."
"There’s a string of numbers too, but it’s not a phone number."
Han Dong took the package and quickly glanced at the line of numbers, "Indeed, it’s not a phone number. These must be coordinates, an address. Get me the location of these coordinates immediately."
"Yes, sir."
"Captain, I’ve found it. The location is at sea, could there be a mistake?" A man looked at the coordinates, puzzled.
"What, is it not within the maritime boundaries of Yan Country?"
Han Dong asked, his greatest fear was that the other party was not in Yan Country’s territorial waters but had entered international waters. If so, even if they knew the person was a criminal, they would have no jurisdiction and could not arrest them.
"Well, that’s not it. The ship is close by, just off the coast of Sea City."
"Let’s not worry about that now, this is a clue, and we must check it out no matter what." Han Dong promptly grabbed his belongings and headed out the door.
"Captain, wait for me."
The special investigation team members immediately drove to the new port of Sea City, then got onto a boat and headed straight for the coordinates.
"We are approaching the coordinates now."
"There’s a ship."
A container ship of several tens of thousands of tons was a behemoth, as conspicuous as a small island on the sea.
"It seems like this ship has anchored here."
"This is odd."
"Look, there seems to be a rope ladder over there." The Coast Guard ship circled the freighter and spotted a rope ladder on one side of the ship’s hull. Han Dong instructed to approach it and then boldly climbed aboard.
"Captain, do you think this bloodstain is pointing the way for us?"
Jin Beibei immediately noticed the arrow smeared with bloodstains on the deck, which was indeed hard to overlook. Han Dong naturally saw it too.
"Let everyone perk up and be careful."
Han Dong said as he picked up his handgun and walked towards the container area on the ship’s deck, following the direction indicated by an arrow.
"There are bullet marks here."
"It seems like there was an intense firefight here."
"Captain, should we call for backup first?"
"Who?"
Jin Beibei felt like she was being watched and suddenly turned to look at a container. The door of the container didn’t seem to be locked, so Jin Beibei went up and pulled open one of the container doors.
"Ah!"
A woman’s scream came from inside the container immediately.
"No, don’t come any closer."
Han Dong and the others quickly got to the container and peered into the modified space within, as well as the people inside.
"Are, are you police?"
The woman inside the container looked up at Jin Beibei and the others standing at the door, surprised and stunned for a moment.
"Yes, we are here to save you."
"Sob."
A girl broke down crying on the spot, while the other girls weren’t in much better shape, looking as if they had been redeemed from the depths of hell.
"Captain, it looks like these are the women who were trafficked out of the country by the snakeheads." Jin Beibei turned her head to look at Han Dong, who nodded and ordered others to check the nearby containers.
"Captain, there are people inside this container too."
"I’ve found some here as well."
"Call HQ immediately, have them dispatch more people. You guys maintain order and try to calm everyone down."
Jin Beibei had not expected this email to bring such a huge surprise. With Li Feng’s sudden disappearance, coupled with the Kang Family’s main members going abroad, the special task force was already facing dissolution, and the previous plan to bust the dens had been declared a failure.
She never imagined such an astonishing turnaround.
Jin Beibei thought of that bastard-like guy. Where was he?
"Let’s go, our mission here is done."
Out at sea, two mercenaries decked in scuba gear watched the police board the ship, then they dove into the water and traveled beneath the surface using propulsion gear.
"Captain, we found the ship’s captain and some seamen in the cockpit, all of them tied up, and we also found a USB drive."
"Take them all."
"Daddy, daddy."
Li Baobei, the child, rushed into Li Feng’s arms: "Daddy, where have you been these past few days? I missed you so much, and so did Aunt Bai and sister."
"Who missed him."
Wang Qian turned her head away, with a proud expression, but the corner of her eye couldn’t help stealing glances at Li Feng.
Why did he smell so different?
"Then you always mutter that daddy is a bad guy."
"Cough!"
Li Feng coughed: "Daddy’s not a bad guy, don’t listen to your sister’s nonsense. Should daddy take a shower first?"
"Okay."
"Aunt Bai, hasn’t Sofia come back yet?"
"Sofia went to discuss business today; she should be back soon."
Li Feng hummed in acknowledgment.
"Tell her to end it quickly, I have something I need her to do."
Li Feng had made a fortune from Paradise Island—of course, apart from a small portion that would be distributed immediately, the rest would be consolidated in his hands for investment or as working capital, to be kept as a reserve.
"Alright, I’ll call her now."
Li Feng handed Li Baobei over to Wang Qian and turned back to his room. The murderous aura on him was heavy and wasn’t suitable to be around the child too much.
Li Feng returned to the bedroom and took out a new phone to insert the SIM card, and was immediately bombarded with a stream of messages and missed calls.
