Chapter 363: Making a Scene
Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Making a Scene
Tiger begged for mercy. Despite his ruthlessness and habit of slaughtering people, things were different when his own life was at stake, especially since Li Feng had chosen a particularly torturous way to die, slicing arteries.
If Tiger could have killed his opponent within ten seconds, he wouldn’t have begged for mercy. But within those ten seconds, his opponent played with him like a cat with a mouse.
This jolted Tiger back to his senses, filled with a primitive fear.
With each passing second, his blood continuously flowed out, and the shadow of death incessantly loomed over him, making him feel the presence of death.
Becoming a mercenary meant confronting death, but when death was actually upon him, he cowered.
"Oh, how much can you give me?"
Li Feng squinted at Tiger, who, now begging for mercy, gritted his teeth and said, "Ten million."
"Federation Coin!"
Tiger named his price as if it cost him a great deal of blood.
Li Feng slightly curled his lips. "Ten million in Federation Coins? Are you underestimating me, or do you think your life is that cheap?"
"Fifteen million."
Tiger spoke again. "That’s all the savings I have."
"Oh, really?"
Li Feng turned his head to look at the chubby Huang Zhong, who was sitting on the sofa. "How much did Bai Haoyu pay him to kill me? Don’t lie to me, there’s a price to pay for lying."
Huang Zhong didn’t expect Li Feng to ask him, swallowed involuntarily, and remembered the saying, ’a dead Taoist friend does not make a poor Taoist.’
"Five hundred million."
Huang Zhong blurted out, "I have already transferred all that money to him."
"Five hundred million? That’s quite a lot. Converted into Federation Coins, it must be sixty to seventy million, right? What did you say your total savings were again? I didn’t quite catch that."
Li Feng looked at Tiger with a smile, while Tiger internally cursed, wishing he could kill that fat man who dared betray him.
"If I give you all the money, will you let me go?"
"Yes, like you said, I don’t hold a grudge against you. If you’re willing to spend money to save your life, there’s no need for me to strike you again, right?"
"But, you don’t have much time left."
"If you continue to hesitate, even if I let you go, heaven might not spare you," Li Feng told Tiger.
"Fine, I’ll give you an account number and password." Tiger bit down on his teeth, finally deciding to gamble it all, and immediately named a series of numbers and a password.
"Can I leave now?"
Tiger looked at Li Feng.
Li Feng stepped aside directly. "Take care, I won’t send you off."
Tiger looked at the path Li Feng cleared for him. Had he really let him go just like that? A flicker of doubt crossed Tiger’s mind or did he think he wouldn’t make it to get treatment and would die? Tiger knew his condition was dire, but he felt he could survive if he could just leave this place.
Huang Zhong’s eyes widened, watching as Li Feng truly let Tiger go. "You, how could you let him leave?"
If Tiger didn’t die and knew he had caused him to lose all his wealth, wouldn’t he come back to kill him?
"Why shouldn’t I let him leave?"
"He might be deceiving you with a fake account; how could you trust his words so easily?"
Li Feng sighed, "Who said I believed him?"
"Hmm?"
Huang Zhong looked at Li Feng shaking his head in surprise, only to see the two War Wolves beside Li Feng twist and pounce on the stumbling Tiger, who was too weak to withstand the huge Wild Wolves and was directly tackled to the ground.
One Wild Wolf went straight for Tiger’s neck and bit down, instantly spraying blood.
Huang Zhong gulped down his saliva, looking at Li Feng as if he were looking at a devil, "You’re doing this on purpose."
"No, I’m telling the truth. I have no grudge against him; if he’s willing to pay, I’ll let him live."
"However, these two War Wolves have a deep hatred for him. That guy has killed many of their kind, so what they do is out of my control."
"Right, now it’s your turn."
"Me?"
Huang Zhong swallowed hard and said, "Sir, Grandpa, I’m just a runner, I really have nothing to do with this."
"Be straightforward, how much are you willing to pay for your life, and don’t lie."
"One billion, I’ll pay one billion."
"One billion Federation Coins, you’re quite wealthy, huh?"
"It’s money, I don’t have a billion Federation Coins, this money is all I have saved over the years with great effort. Grandpa, I’m really not lying; this is all I have."
Huang Zhong was already terrified, and the two War Wolves were hungrily gaping with their bloody maws.
"Okay then, but you have to do something for me."
"Grandpa, just say it—whatever I can do, I will definitely do it for you." At this point, Huang Zhong had no dignity left; his only thought was how to avoid being eaten.
"What kind of people are imprisoned in this Duel Arena?"
Li Feng squinted and asked.
When Huang Zhong heard Li Feng ask about this, he immediately replied without hesitation: "Grandpa, there are mainly three types of people in this Duel Arena: first, prisoners from the jail, the Kang Family has bribed many prison guards to secretly bring in some serious criminals."
"Second, some of the Kang Family’s enemies. After being captured, they are directly thrown into the Duel Arena for recycling; and third, some boxing ring fighters. These people are relatively free and earn money by boxing."
"Right now, half of the prisoners in the Duel Arena are serious criminals on death row, one-third are people captured by the Kang Family, including an undercover cop, and the rest are underground fighters, but although they live here, they are not controlled."
"Do you have the keys to the prison?"
"Yes, yes, the keys are in the control room. I know all about it."
"Get up."
Li Feng stood up, towering over Huang Zhong, "You don’t have to die, but from now on, you must obediently follow my orders."
"Yes, Grandpa, I will definitely obey."
Huang Zhong was so excited he was almost in tears, finally free from being fed to the wolves. Li Feng led Huang Zhong to the underground prison area of the Duel Arena and directly opened the prison cells.
Li Feng looked at the hesitant people coming out of the cells and tossed some firearms over.
"Who are you?"
"Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is whether or not you want to live."
Li Feng looked at these fierce-looking men now set free, "Those willing to join me for revenge against the Kang Family, pick up the weapons and follow me. Those who are scared can just leave; however, this is an island—you’ll have to see if you can make it off alive."
"Fighting the Kang Family, I’m in."
"Damn it, I’m already an enemy of the Kang Family. If there’s a chance to kill them, how can I be absent?"
People stepped forward to grab the weapons, and soon more joined in. Li Feng smiled at the improvised army forming before him.
"Then let’s make a big scene."
