Chapter 358 Wild Wolf
Chapter 358: Chapter 358 Wild Wolf
"Young Master, Lady has arrived."
"My sister-in-law is here?"
Bai Haoyu turned his head to look at the underling who had delivered the message, then glanced at the Duel Arena below: "Let her come, it might as well completely extinguish that hope of hers."
"Young Master, could Lady possibly...?"
Bai Haoyu’s brow furrowed slightly: "You two, go to my sister-in-law’s side, ensure her safety."
"Yes, Young Master."
"Damn, a pack of wolves."
"This is fricking brutal." Some spectators who had been full of complaints shut their mouths at the sight of the Wild Wolves trooping into the arena, with many even sucking in a breath of cold air.
"Everyone has seen it by now, the group of Wild Wolves entering the arena. These wild wolves primarily roam the wastelands, are adept at pack hunting, and are naturally savage and combative."
"A wolf pack usually consists of between thirty to fifty individuals. The pack we are seeing now comes from a tribe, and see that tall Wild Wolf in the middle, that is a rare Wolf King."
"It bears the scars of battle on its body, but that doesn’t obscure its majestic and imposing presence...!"
The host continued to introduce and promote the Wild Wolves. In fact, no introduction was necessary as anyone who wasn’t blind could see these wolves were fierce, nothing like the listless ones you’d find in a zoo.
"Moreover, these wolves haven’t had a full belly for a week, they are completely in a state of hunger, and as everyone knows, a hungry wolf pack is the most terrifying."
"He defeated the champion boxer, but can he create a miracle again, let’s wait and see."
With the host’s impassioned commentary, the atmosphere within the Duel Arena once again grew tense.
"The wolves are moving."
"Damn it, who did you bet on?"
"Do you even need to ask? Of course it’s the wolf pack, no matter how ruthless one man is, he can’t possibly beat a whole pack."
"What if?"
"The odds aren’t high this time, only five to one."
"Damn it, I’m all in, even if he’s strong, he’s just one person, I bet ten million."
"One shouldn’t fear the odds, but the unexpected. I’m betting two million on the man to win."
Having placed their bets, pair after pair of eyes were fixed on the Duel Arena below. Twenty-two Wild Wolves had almost completely surrounded Li Feng, and the Wolf King stood at the back of the pack.
"Awooo, awooo!"
The Wolf King issued commands with its howls, and immediately several War Wolves broke from the crowd, charging straight for Li Feng.
The Siberian Wild Wolves were much larger and more formidable than your average grey wolf. Due to their year-round activities in the barren northern wastelands, scarcity of food endowed these Wild Wolves with powerful hunting capabilities.
There’s a saying: poverty-stricken mountains and rough waters produce crafty people.
Similarly, the more desolate the land, the more powerful its beasts.
Two Wild Wolves ran swiftly, pouncing directly towards Li Feng with their sharp claws flailing in the air. Li Feng sidestepped, evading; the Wild Wolves missed their mark.
However, the other two Wild Wolves did not pounce towards Li Feng, but instead viciously grabbed Sanggu’s body with their teeth, dragging him towards the Wolf King.
"Hiss."
The surrounding audience saw this scene and each drew a sharp breath of cold air; the Wolf King’s intelligence was incredibly high.
It had executed a classic feint; its true target turned out to be the newly deceased body of Sanggu.
The Wolf King, seeing Sanggu brought to its maw, opened its gaping jaws wide and its sharp teeth tore down fiercely, blood splattering in an instant.
Li Feng, watching the Wolf King feed, knew that if he didn’t kill the Wolf King today, he might well be capsized in a gutter; the combat power of a wolf pack with a Wolf King was truly a nightmare.
Li Feng’s toes sprung off the ground, and like an arrow released from a bow, he shot directly towards the Wolf King.
The Wolf King glanced up, its gaze contemptuously sweeping over Li Feng as he charged forward, then continued to devour Sanggu as if nothing else mattered; it needed meat, it needed energy.
"Lady, you really shouldn’t go in there, there’s nothing good to see in such a bloody scene."
"Yes, Lady."
"Move aside."
Dong Xin looked at Bai Haoyu’s two bodyguards blocking her way, her face full of displeasure. Since when did she need their consent to do anything?
Dong Xin pushed the two aside with her hand and walked through the corridor to the Duel Arena stands, her gaze sweeping left and right for a moment, not knowing where Li Feng could be.
"Fuck, is this guy trying to get himself killed?"
"These wolves are definitely the smartest I’ve ever seen, they’re practically like an army."
"Do you even need to say that? Wolf packs are inherently highly organized creatures, and people have even written books about it, something about ’wolf nature.’"
"The book says that the most important aspects of ’wolf nature’ are a high level of obedience and discipline, along with a ferociousness that knows no fear of death and never backs down."
"This guy is definitely dead meat."
Listening to the nearby discussions, Dong Xin instinctively glanced down into the Duel Arena, and with just one look...
"Li Feng."
Dong Xin felt as if her heart had been grabbed and squeezed. What was he doing in the Duel Arena? She had thought Li Feng was there to watch the fights, but never imagined he would be fighting in the arena.
And even more than that, fighting a pack of wolves.
Thinking of Bai Haoyu’s men who had tried to stop her before, Dong Xin suddenly understood and clenched her fists in anger, turning around to shoot a cold look at the two bodyguards following her.
"Where is Bai Haoyu?"
The two bodyguards hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Dong Xin stepped in front of them and with an exceedingly cold gaze demanded, "Take me to Bai Haoyu."
"Lady."
"I don’t want to repeat myself a third time. If he doesn’t want to see me, fine, but then tell him he need never bother to see me again for the rest of his life."
The bodyguards weren’t blind; any man would understand their young master’s intentions.
"Lady, please."
The door to the Duel Arena’s VIP box was violently pushed open by Dong Xin. She strode in, brimming with a cold elegance, and Bai Haoyu turned around to see his sister-in-law.
"Young Master, we—"
"Get out."
Bai Haoyu knew that Dong Xin had come to call him to account and gestured for his men to leave, and they quickly exited the box.
"Sister-in-law."
Dong Xin marched up to him and slapped Bai Haoyu across the face, but he didn’t get angry. He continued to smile at Dong Xin.
"Sister-in-law, if it’ll calm you down, you can slap me a couple more times."
Dong Xin stared at her seemingly carefree brother-in-law, "Why do this?"
Bai Haoyu looked at Dong Xin. "Sister-in-law, this is for your own good. How could someone as vile as him be worthy of you? He even dared to covet you, beyond his place. He deserves to die."
Dong Xin coldly regarded Bai Haoyu.
"For my good? Since when do you get to decide what’s good for me, Bai Haoyu? You’re too full of yourself."
"Stop this immediately."
"Sister-in-law, this isn’t Sea City. No one here is going to listen to what I say," Bai Haoyu remarked with a cocky smile, unfazed.
"Bai Haoyu, you’ve disappointed me so much. How could you have become like this?"
"Sister-in-law, whether you’re disappointed or pissed, he’s going to die today."
Bai Haoyu turned back to watch the Duel Arena below: "This is the consequence for coveting what he should not have."
