Chapter 35: Chapter 35: I Came to Save Someone

Li Feng arrived at the airport and saw Wang Jin’er, but he didn’t go over to greet her. The arranged marriage between the Li and Wang families was set in stone, and they had met in person for the arranged relationship, but because of the marriage with Zhang Xue, Li Feng was very resistant to this one.

Moreover, this arranged marriage was basically an order, and Li Feng did not want to submit to it.

In the waiting room, as the flight announcements rang in his ears, Li Feng got up and encountered Wang Jin’er again at the check-in gate. Her flight turned out to be the same one as his. If she hadn’t been completely oblivious to him from the beginning to the end, Li Feng would really suspect what game this woman was playing.

Once on the plane, Li Feng was in business class and fortunately didn’t run into Wang Jin’er. More than two hours later, the plane arrived at Sea City Airport.

"Driver, to Rainbow Hospital," Li Feng said as he left the exit and got into a taxi.

After arriving at Rainbow Hospital, Li Feng inquired at the nurse’s station and found the patient room of the patient whom his master had mentioned.

The patient was fifty-six years old, admitted to the hospital due to an acute cerebral infarction, and was still in a critical period, at risk of dying at any moment. Standing outside the ICU, Li Feng wondered what benefits his master had received this time, as he truly found himself with a hot potato.

Li Feng casually grabbed a white lab coat and walked directly into the ICU. He checked the patient’s pulse, which fittingly could be described as hanging by a thread.

Li Feng took out a leather wallet from his pocket, unfolded it not to reveal money, but a row of silver needles. He went behind the patient and inserted a silver needle into the patient’s Spiritual Wisdom Acupoint.

"Chairman Wang."

"How is Mother Chen doing?"

As soon as Wang Jin’er got out of the car, she asked about the situation of Mother Chen, the head of an orphanage who had dedicated her life to the upbringing and adoption of orphans, a person Wang Jin’er deeply respected.

Furthermore, since Wang Jin’er had lost her own mother at a young age, she treated Mother Chen like her own mother.

"It’s not looking good, and the doctors are helpless, telling us to be mentally prepared."

"My father and the head of this hospital are good friends, I even call him uncle. I will go to him personally, no matter what it takes, we must cure Mother Chen."

Wang Jin’er bit her lip and hurried into the hospital.

"Uncle Lu, please save Mother Chen at any cost, regardless of the expense, please think of a way. Mother Chen is a good person."

In the director’s office, Lu Yusheng looked at Wang Jin’er, "Jin’er, it’s not that your uncle isn’t doing his best. My top neurosurgeons have consulted on this case, and the patient’s condition is very dangerous. It’s difficult to perform extracranial surgery, with a success rate of less than 10%."

"Is there really no other way?"

Lu Yusheng sighed, "Even a Daluo Golden Immortal descending to earth would be of no use. Our hospital’s neurosurgery is among the top three in the nation, and this conclusion is from our renowned neurosurgical authority after a consultation."

"The expert is one we invited back from abroad, internationally acclaimed. If he says it’s not possible, it would be the same outcome even if you went abroad."

"Jin’er, it’s time to prepare for the worst."

"Where is Mother Chen now?"

"In the ICU critical care room, let me take you there."

Outside the ICU at that moment, chaos reigned.

"What’s going on?"

"Director, someone entered the ICU and even barred the door."

Lu Yusheng walked up to the outside of the room, peering through the tempered glass, "Who is inside? Get him out immediately." Lu Yusheng looked sternly at the person operating inside the room.

"Director, I’ve already asked, he isn’t one of our hospital doctors."

"He’s not one of our doctors, then where did he come from?" Lu Yusheng glared fiercely at the doctor who was speaking.

"I don’t know."

"Ah!"

Wang Jin’er suddenly screamed as a jet of blood spurted from the patient’s head, instantly staining the other person’s white coat. Exhausted from a sleepless night and exerting all her energy, Wang Jin’er went weak at the knees when she witnessed the scene.

"Jin’er."

Wang Jin’er was caught by a man behind her, "Jin’er, are you alright?"

"Director Lu, call security right now, and find a way to open the door."

Lu Yusheng immediately instructed someone to call the hospital security and looked grimly at the person in the white coat within the ward.

"Director!" Several hospital neurosurgery experts also arrived after hearing the news.

"Hmm."

"Who exactly is this guy, having the guts of a bear and a leopard, not realizing there’s a critically ill patient inside, whose life hangs by a thread?"

"Is he treating the patient?" one expert frowned, "Ancient acupuncture?"

"It doesn’t seem like he’s one of our hospital doctors. Could he be an intern? That’s way too bold." Another expert also expressed deep concern. Touching the patient could lead to serious consequences. Who would bear the responsibility if anything went wrong?

"The patient has an acute cerebral infarction, and it’s not the first onset. Though he was brought in in time, the problem is complex. His condition is weak, not yet stable enough for surgery, and about ancient medicine..."

Li Feng looked at the blood spurting out, and once the blood stopped sizzling, he exhaled heavily, finally clearing all the blood clots caused by the cerebral infarction.

"He’s coming out now."

Li Feng opened the door of the ICU ward. Just as he stepped out, an expert pointed at Li Feng’s nose, "Young man, take off that mask. I want to see who this audacious fellow really is."

"Who are you, and why are you harming Mother Chen? She’s such a good person, did a dog eat your conscience?"

Wang Jin’er, with reddened eyes, stepped forward and grabbed Li Feng’s collar, staring at Li Feng in his mask.

"Director."

The hospital security arrived hurriedly.

"Who are you, are you a doctor in our hospital? Or maybe an intern? Who gave you permission to enter the ICU? Do you realize what you’re doing?"

Lu Yusheng rebuked vehemently. He had to ensure the hospital was kept out of this.

"Do you realize the consequences of such unauthorized actions?"

Li Feng looked up at the completely white-haired Lu Yusheng and then at Wang Jin’er with her eyes red from fury, and reached for his mask.

"How is it you? Weren’t you in Jin City?"

Wang Jin’er stared at Li Feng in disbelief. How could he possibly be in Mother Chen’s ICU room? He was supposed to be in Jin City.

"Jin’er, you know him?"

Lin Hao glanced at Wang Jin’er and observed Li Feng from head to toe. As a suitor and vice president of the Orphan Rescue Association, Lin Hao was a strong contender among those pursuing Wang Jin’er, though he didn’t know everyone, he had an idea about the serious rivals.

This person, he had never seen before.

"I came to save someone."

"You, you came to save someone?"
