Chapter 333: Chapter 333: I am a Journalist
A tongue of fire spouted forth, the bullet’s searing air current grazed Li Feng’s cheek as it whipped over the containers, finally shooting up into the sky.
Li Feng looked coldly at the criminals who had all missed their shots, directly pulling out the pistol from one of them and pressing it close against the man’s head.
Fear flashed in the man’s eyes, terror, and dread, but Li Feng showed no mercy, he directly pulled the trigger, and in an instant, the man fell backward, blood spurting.
Thud.
As the man fell, Li Feng’s gaze moved to the bed inside the container, where a woman, her upper garments torn, was protecting her chest with her hands.
Li Feng did not dwell on the panic on her face, not because he was heartless, but because he couldn’t be a savior.
Li Feng turned away from the container, directly clearing out the remaining criminals. As the last criminal fell, the sailors were terrified, and seeing Li Feng’s gaze turn towards them, they knelt on their own.
"Big brother, lord, grandfather, this has nothing to do with us."
"I have elderly parents and young children; I’m just trying to make a living."
Before Li Feng could respond, a whistle came from the side of the ship. He glanced over and saw more men in camouflage climbing aboard.
The captain scrambled to them, shouting, "It was him, he killed your leader Cui, and all your men, too. He is a cop!"
"Is that so?"
The captain raised his head to look at the men’s attire and felt something was off. These men’s uniforms seemed more vivid, not the dull grey-green, and their weapons appeared to be of higher quality.
The captain nodded profusely, "Yes, I swear, he’s a cop, kill him quickly, or we’re all done for."
"Heh."
"We? Who is with you?"
The man in camouflage lifted his foot and kicked the captain over with his combat boot. Looking at Li Feng approaching, he said, "Young Master."
"Young Master?"
Sitting on the ground with an ashen face, the captain looked at the man in camouflage who saluted sharply and then back at Li Feng, his face turning deathly pale.
"Officer, you can’t kill me, I surrender!"
The captain cried out urgently.
He wasn’t weak, but Li Feng’s killing had terrified him. He considered himself tough, but compared to the man before him, he was nothing—unworthy even of carrying his shoes.
"Is everyone on that boat taken care of?"
"We left a few alive, the rest have fed the sharks," replied the man in camouflage, his gaze falling on the captain.
The pleading captain shuddered under that look, so frightened that he wet himself, causing Li Feng to frown.
"Take him away and ask for details, and have others search this ship."
"Yes."
The man in camouflage raised his hand toward the ones behind him, signaling, "One team to search, one team on guard."
"Boss, there’s so many girls!"
The man in camouflage looked at Li Feng and whistled toward the other side, prompting Li Feng to slap him on the back of the head.
"Do you want me to share some with you?"
The man coughed, "Boss, I was just joking. Even if you dared to offer, I wouldn’t dare accept."
Li Feng turned around sharply and addressed the still somewhat panicking women, "Everyone, listen to me. We are police officers, we are here to rescue you. All the criminals have been taken down, you are all saved now."
"Really?"
"Whimper, we’ve been saved."
Hearing the word ’police,’ all the women started to cry bitterly, as they had spent these past days in constant fear and also endured humiliation.
"You’ve only just come, why didn’t you save us sooner?"
Several discordant voices suddenly erupted from the crowd.
Li Feng swept a glance at the crowd and, without paying heed, continued to speak, "Next, I hope you will follow the commands and all enter the ship to wait for further rescue."
"Wait a second."
"Are you really a cop?"
It was then that a woman stepped forward to look at Li Feng. Li Feng halted and gazed at the woman who had stepped out. She was strikingly attractive and had an excellent figure. At the moment, her clothes were somewhat torn as if someone had ripped at them, and despite covering the essentials, a great expanse of her skin was still exposed, making her even more eye-catching.
"I am Wen Xiaofei, a journalist from Sea City News. Please answer my question, are you really a police officer?"
Li Feng was slightly taken aback, glancing at the beautiful journalist with a top-notch body and looks, "What do you want to ask?"
"I just want to know if you are truly a cop."
"You are doubting my identity."
Wen Xiaofei’s face turned slightly cold as she looked at Li Feng, subconsciously puffing out her chest, "Shouldn’t I? Back in the warehouse, I saw you. You were with those scumbags outside, and they were quite respectful to you."
"So what?"
"You’re undercover, aren’t you? If you’re undercover, why didn’t you call the police while at the warehouse but waited until we were at sea to start a rescue. Are you aware of how many people those scumbags spoiled because of you?"
"Don’t you think you owe an explanation?"
"Right, why didn’t you come forward sooner?" The women in the crowd who had just been bullied also stood up upon hearing Wen Xiaofei’s questioning.
As one person stood up, more followed, as if all the abuse they had suffered was because of Li Feng.
Seeing this, the man in camo suddenly showed a flicker of annoyance on his face, "Boss, this is...!"
Li Feng raised his hand to stop the camo man from continuing.
Wen Xiaofei, seeing that many people had come forward, directly pressed towards Li Feng, "I hope you’ll give us all an explanation."
"Are you done?"
Li Feng glanced at the agitated crowd of women opposite him, his eyes resting on Wen Xiaofei, "You want me to give you an explanation."
"Yes."
"What should we do, should we stand up and speak for him?"
Tian Mengmeng said.
"Of course, we have to. If it weren’t for him, how could we have been rescued? There’s no need for such ingratitude," Ye Zishan clenched her fists, ready to step forward.
Li Feng, squinting his eyes, looked at Wen Xiaofei, "Hey, you’re quite sharp for a journalist. Since you’ve figured it out..."
"Well then, I’ll lay my cards out."
Wen Xiaofei looked at Li Feng. The reason she had stepped forward was not only that she was outraged - after all, she had almost been assaulted by that skinny bastard - but she also wanted a big scoop.
Hmph, I’d like to see exactly what cards you’ll lay out.
Li Feng observed Wen Xiaofei. Some reporters just loved to make a fuss over nothing, and he wasn’t in the mood to play word games with her.
"Actually, I’m not a cop."
"What I said just now was all a lie to make you follow orders, since you don’t fall for that, it seems we’ll have to do this the hard way."
"Are you satisfied with this answer, Journalist Wen?"
