Chapter 257: Chapter 257: Little Brother-in-law
"How did you manage to shake off Beibei?"
Liu Xue clicked her tongue but couldn’t suppress her curiosity and asked. After all, Li Feng had only been gone for two or three minutes, and Jin Beibei had chased after him immediately upon his departure. Not to mention, they had their own people stationed outside.
No matter how you looked at it, they were professionals, trained in pursuit and evasion even at school. Being so easily shook off by someone not from the trade was somewhat embarrassing.
"Shake off?"
Li Feng swallowed the meat in his mouth and raised his eyes to Liu Xue, "Not exactly. I just went to the washroom. Since she’s a woman, she probably didn’t think to look for me in the men’s room."
Hearing this, Liu Xue was dumbfounded. Could that even work?
"Damn it."
Stomping her feet in frustration inside the mall, Jin Beibei was loath to admit it but she had lost Li Feng, which was irksome to her.
"Did the people at the entrance spot him?"
The man in plainclothes beside her shook his head, "No sighting. We only have three or four people; we can’t block all the exits."
Jin Beibei threw a punch against the railing. Then, a flash of inspiration struck her, "Liu Xue."
"What happened to Liu Xue?"
"Xiaoxue, Xiaoxue, respond if you hear me," Jin Beibei called out to Liu Xue, but received no response.
"This is bad."
Jin Beibei twisted around and dashed towards the self-service barbecue restaurant. Upon bursting through the door, she saw Liu Xue sitting at the barbecue table and involuntarily let out a sigh of relief.
"He ran off too?"
Liu Xue looked up at the out-of-breath Jin Beibei, and with a flick of her hand, there was a clink of metal – one of Liu Xue’s hands was cuffed to the table.
"They just left not long ago."
"The two of them?" Jin Beibei stiffened slightly, and Liu Xue nodded, "You chased after him right on cue, but Li Feng came back shortly after. They left only after finishing their barbecue."
Upon hearing this, Jin Beibei slammed her fist on the table, "Li Feng, you and I, Jin Beibei, will never coexist peacefully."
This was a slap in the face.
Seeing Jin Beibei’s angry expression, Liu Xue said, "Beibei, what do we do now? It’s clear these two have been trained in tracking and counter-tracking – we’re out of our depth."
Liu Xue truly felt dispirited. These two were obviously not ordinary people; they played them for fools. It was a dent to their pride to admit this, but it was the truth.
Jin Beibei gnashed her teeth, grunting spitefully, "He might escape a monk, but can he escape the temple?"
"Huh?"
"He’s the director of Myth Communication, right? We’ll wait for him at Myth Communication."
"Aren’t you going to eat?"
"Where are we going?"
Zhang Wannian looked to Li Feng and asked. Li Feng turned his head to glance at Zhang Wannian, "I have a task for you. For now, you need to help me protect someone."
"Oh!"
"We’re here." Li Feng opened the taxi door and got out, with Zhang Wannian following him as they entered an apartment building.
Walking off the elevator onto the floor, they were met with the sound of arguing and turned to see that the door to the apartment where Han Xue was staying was open.
"Han Hu, are you even my brother anymore?"
"Pah, you woman, I don’t acknowledge a sister like you. The Chen Family has treated you well, treated our Han Family well too, and yet you’re messing around behind your brother-in-law’s back. Now even Chen Shao knows about it. How are we supposed to get by in Century Group in the future?"
"Let me tell you, Han Xue, the bastard in your belly has to go."
Han Xue’s hair was being yanked by a young man, looking utterly disheveled. Apart from this young man, several others were spectating in the living room.
"This child is of the Chen family."
"Hah, of the Chen family? My brother-in-law is getting on in years; even if he had the desire, he’d need the capacity!"
"Woman, if you’re that desperate for a man, you could at least wait until he’s dead. But look at you now – your misdeed has been caught by Chen Shao. How are we supposed to share the inheritance now?"
"Brother Hu, do you need our help?"
A group of young people’s attention was drawn to Han Xue; Han Hu’s sister was truly beautiful, with skin as smooth as silk, so alluring that it made people’s mouths water. In the past, they naturally didn’t have the guts, but now.
This phoenix had lost its feathers and was not as good as a chicken.
Zhang Wannian looked at Li Feng with a strange expression. This guy actually had a hidden treasure, his women weren’t few in number, and all of them were top-quality.
"Save me."
As soon as the two youngsters moved, Han Xue lifted her eyes and saw Li Feng standing in the living room. Without considering when Li Feng had arrived, she hurriedly called for help.
"Woman, just accept your fate, today this bastard in your stomach can’t be kept."
Han Hu coldly looked at his own sister. It was all because of her that the Han Family’s wealth had turned into a bubble.
"Take her away."
"Alright, Brother Hu."
The two youngsters eagerly stepped forward, even if they couldn’t do something more, getting a taste of the action was still good.
Unfortunately for them, as pretty as their thoughts were, they had only taken a step when they were kicked from behind.
Immediately, the two of them fell to the ground in a dog-eating-shit posture.
"Who are you guys!"
Only then did the rest of the youngsters in the living room notice that two more people had appeared.
"Mind your own business, you hear me? Get lost." One of the youngsters took out a switchblade and arrogantly yelled at Li Feng and Zhang Wannian.
No sooner had the word "get lost" left the young man’s mouth than Li Feng kicked him in the chest, sending him flying backward like a kite with its string cut.
"Do it."
Han Hu shouted, and Zhang Wannian, who was behind Li Feng, didn’t freeze. He leaped forward in an arrow step, whisking past Li Feng, and with three punches and two kicks, all the youngsters about to make a move were knocked to the ground.
The speed was faster than the blink of an eye.
Li Feng walked towards the shouting Han Hu: "Let her go."
"Are you this woman’s adulterer?"
Han Hu looked at Li Feng with a defiant gaze, Li Feng stared at Han Hu: "I told you to let her go."
Han Hu felt a palpitation under Li Feng’s gaze, but the more he felt it, the more rebellious he became: "What if I don’t? She is a Han, the Han Family’s business is none of your dog-catching-mice affair."
"I’ll tell you, the seed she carries in her belly is dead for sure today."
No sooner had Han Hu’s words fallen than Li Feng’s hand shot out lightning-fast, gripping Han Hu’s vague neck, choking out guttural sounds from Han Hu’s throat, his eyes rolling back white.
Han Xue, who was kneeling on the ground, quickly grabbed Li Feng’s arm, pleadingly looking up at him: "Please, don’t. I beg you."
Li Feng turned to look at Han Xue: "He insulted you as a woman, even wanted to beat the child in your belly, and you still plead for him?"
Han Xue clenched her teeth: "He’s my little brother, the only line of the Han Family."
"Please."
Li Feng finally understood the saying, "There is something pitiable in someone hateful," as it seemed Han Xue was the kind of person who would do anything for her brother.
Li Feng let go, and Han Hu fell to the ground, clutching his throat and coughing violently.
When Han Hu recovered a bit, he coldly looked at Li Feng: "You little white face, you slept with my sister, got her pregnant with your bastard, and you dare hit me?"
"I’ll tell you, even if my brother-in-law is dead now, my sister will not marry you."
Li Feng looked at Han Hu who showed no sign of repentance and sneered coldly, causing Han Hu to shudder and hide behind Han Xue.
"Woman, you better control your little white face."
Han Xue, with a complex expression, blocked Li Feng: "Please let him go."
Li Feng looked at Han Xue: "Are you serious?"
Han Xue bit her cherry lips and nodded, and Han Hu, watching this scene, sneered through his nose twice but didn’t dare continue challenging them head-on. These two were ruthless; it was better to avoid their sharpness for now and plan for the long term.
Han Hu immediately turned to leave, no one dared to stop him: "Adulterers, wait for it."
Instinctively, Han Hu threw one last provocation at Li Feng. When you’re out in the world, you can’t lose your swagger.
