Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God
Chapter 235: 3 Seconds

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: 3 Seconds

Zhang Wannian didn’t mince words, directly making his move, his body twisting as the dagger swept behind him.

He was the King of Soldiers of the Wolf Fang unit, and as the King of Soldiers, he naturally had the pride of one. Moreover, he was at the peak of his vitality, and retiring this time had left him with a belly full of fire, not exactly thrilled to be a bodyguard.

He was a king on the battlefield, now reduced to guarding a rich young lady.

Had it not been for a leader summoning him, he would not have come at all.

And the result? After he finally convinced himself to protect someone for a year to earn some money for his family, waiting for things to settle before considering a return to the military, he was greeted with someone trying to put him in his place.

Fine, he had lost, and he accepted it.

Couldn’t he just leave without losing face? Yet this guy even dared to stop him.

He thought who he was.

Really, as if he, Zhang Wannian, was some pushover that one could just squeeze at will. Even a clay Buddha has a three-point temper, and Zhang Wannian was certainly not the type to swallow his pride and stay silent, otherwise, he would not have broken military discipline.

Zhang Wannian countered swiftly, but the strike found nothing but air, as Li Feng, like a shadow, continued to follow close behind him. Zhang Wannian only felt a chill on his neck and instinctively reached out to touch it.

Blood.

Li Feng stood behind Zhang Wannian, his voice eerie as he spoke, "Killing you wouldn’t take three seconds."

"You’re already dead."

Zhang Wannian jerked in shock, quickly spinning around while flinging his backpack as a weapon.

However, when Zhang Wannian turned, he faced nothing but empty air.

Simultaneously, Zhang Wannian felt a chilling sensation on his back, an icy dread flooding his heart.

"The nerve between the sixth and seventh vertebrae of your spine has been severed, you’re already paralyzed from the waist down, you don’t even have a chance to bite me to death."

Hearing the leisurely words of Li Feng, Zhang Wannian was overwhelmed with shame and rage, letting out a furious shout as he kicked up dust with a somersault.

Rising from his roll, Zhang Wannian knelt on one knee, his dagger ready in front of him, but before he could steady himself, a flash of cold light skirted past his dagger, grazing his cheek.

A drop of blood slid from Zhang Wannian’s cheek.

"If I lifted my wrist even a fraction higher, this little knife would have penetrated your eyeball and driven straight into your brainstem, killing you instantly."

Listening to Li Feng’s prattle, Zhang Wannian let out a roar like a fierce beast, pouncing on Li Feng like a tiger in close-quarters combat.

Zhang Wannian’s dagger skills, even within the Wolf Fang unit, were top-ranked, and he had even earned the nickname "Wolf Fang."

Wolf Fang, unmatched in sharpness.

Wolf Fang, once drawn, guaranteed a kill.

Li Feng shuffled his feet, deftly dodging the fierce attacks from Zhang Wannian, "Your breathing is all over the place, and that’s not how you use a dagger."

With that, Li Feng reached out and seized the dagger from Zhang Wannian’s hand; Zhang Wannian was utterly dumbfounded, unable to comprehend how his dagger had been taken.

With a reverse grip, Li Feng held the dagger against Zhang Wannian’s throat, "Do you have time to be distracted? You’ve been ’Kissed Throat’."

Zhang Wannian stepped back half a pace and immediately drew a spare dagger, holding it reversed in his hand as Li Feng promptly advanced.

A dagger was drawn.

Clang.

The two daggers collided, but in the next instant, Li Feng’s dagger traced a strange arc, landing in his left hand for a reverse "Mantis Stab."

"You’ve died again."

The tip of the dagger hovered over Zhang Wannian’s eyeball, as if it had already pierced his pupil. Zhang Wannian might have been battle-tested, but in that moment, he still felt a shock of terror, his back drenched in cold sweat.

"Shall we continue?"

Li Feng looked devilishly at Zhang Wannian, who thumped down to the ground with a plop.

His entire being was filled with doubt, not understanding how it could be like this, how it was even possible.

Zhang Wannian’s confidence was utterly shattered by Li Feng in an instant. He had always been confident, for he was the strongest. From the moment he enlisted, he had always been the best, the most outstanding NO1.

Even during the special forces exam, he dealt with it with ease, and on the very first day he joined the Wolf Fang, he dared to challenge the instructor. He was an untamed wolf, the youngest ever King of Soldiers in Wolf Fang’s history.

Zhang Wannian always had it all his own way until he was beaten black and blue for the first time.

"Maybe you have a chance to kill me in three seconds, but before you do, you won’t even live for one."

Li Feng looked down condescendingly at the ravaged King of Soldiers.

"Who the heck are you?"

Zhang Wannian raised his eyes to look at Li Feng.

"The weak don’t have the right to ask questions. Here’s my card. Give yourself a day to question your life, and report to the company first thing tomorrow."

Li Feng tossed down a business card and turned to walk towards the parking lot inside the Wang Family’s compound.

As Zhang Wannian watched Li Feng’s back, he clenched his fists: "What’s there to be arrogant about? I refuse to believe I can’t beat you."

"Where have you been?"

"Oh, just stopped by the restroom on the way." Li Feng got into the car and drove away from the Wang Family’s mansion to Myth Communication.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Li Feng’s assistant secretary, Jiang Linda, knocked on the door to Li Feng’s office. Without hearing any response, she pushed the door and entered, only to find Li Feng slumped in his chair, feet propped up on the desk, shamelessly fast asleep.

He even had a dribble of shiny drool at the corner of his mouth.

Jiang Linda saw Li Feng like this and, curling her lips, walked up to the desk and slammed the documents she was holding onto it.

"Mm."

Li Feng woke with a start, almost falling to the floor, wiped the corner of his mouth, and looked up at Jiang Linda.

"What’s up, something wrong?"

Jiang Linda rolled her eyes. "Director Li, haven’t you forgotten something very important?"

"Hmm? Forgot something very important?"

Li Feng thought for a moment, then looked at Jiang Linda: "Not that I know of. What, did the company forget to pay your salary?"

Jiang Linda was so frustrated her chest hurt: "Director Li, when you sent Zhou Jie packing a few days ago, you swore that you’d achieve one hundred million in performance within a month. It’s nearly been a week now."

"Where’s your performance?"

"And here you are, snoozing in the office. Don’t you sleep at night?" Jiang Linda said through clenched teeth, glaring at Li Feng.

Thinking about how she’d been threatened by this bastard from the start had her feeling utterly irritated.

"Of course, I have to sleep at night, but it just so happens to be tiring."

"As for performance, it’s only been a week, there’s still plenty of the month left." Li Feng yawned and stretched lazily.

"Ptui."

Jiang Linda spat at Li Feng. Why would there be thunder at night? Clearly, he was up to no good.

"Whatever."

Why bother overseeing him? After all, she had no intention of staying with Myth Communication. She could always jump ship if it came to that.

Jiang Linda barely made it out of the office when the door was pushed open again, and a receptionist peeked in.

"Director Li, there are people from a big company outside who have asked to see you by name, they want to discuss business with you."

"Oh?"

"Which company?" Jiang Linda was baffled. What was going on?

"Clover Group."

"Are you sure it’s Clover Group?" Jiang Linda’s eyes widened. Clover Group was a large Biological Pharmaceutical Company, a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry.

Why would such a big corporation specifically ask to talk business with Li Feng?
