Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Need a Back Scrub?

"Master, would you like Sofia to scrub your back for you?"

Li Feng glanced up at Sofia who had pushed open the bathroom door, poked her head in, and then slyly shut it again.

She was only wearing a tight-fitting camisole, and due to her lineage, Sofia’s skin was as smooth and fair as freshly fallen snow, devoid of any large pores or body hair.

Li Feng’s blood, which had settled, was rekindled in an instant.

"Sure."

Li Feng nodded. Since purchasing her, he hadn’t touched her, even though Sofia had been throwing herself at him back in the underworld market. However, once bought, she had become surprisingly reserved, never taking the initiative.

But today, she was out of character.

There must be a ghost in the works when things go awry.

Li Feng didn’t bother to call her out directly and watched as Sofia lifted her long leg to step into the bathtub, "Master, you’ll have to turn around for me to scrub your back."

Sofia, with an expression that said she was there purely to help with his back, prompted Li Feng to turn over and lie on the edge of the bathtub.

Sofia, holding a loofah, began to scrub Li Feng’s back.

"Mmm."

Li Feng hummed contentedly. Though there wasn’t a prevalent bathhouse culture in Sea City as he had seen elsewhere, he had experienced it, and a scrub was indeed very comfortable – and having a beautiful girl do it was more than just comfortable.

"Speaking of which, what’s your game with this unexpected kindness?"

Li Feng asked directly.

"Master, I all belong to you, I wouldn’t have any ulterior motives," Sofia pouted with a plaintive tone.

Li Feng shuddered from head to toe, turning to look at Sofia who was kneeling in the bathtub, and swallowed hard.

"Master, I’m yours, and Sofia is available whenever you desire."

Sofia had indeed opened her heart. Back in the dozens of encounters in Scarbro’s underworld, her forwardness had been out of desperation, and afterward, she had been dodging Li Feng, not wanting to become a mere toy for a man.

But the way Li Feng treated her, and the businesses he had entrusted her with, made Sofia realize she may have hitched herself not just to a rich second-generation heir.

This master wielded terrifying wealth, enough to shelter her, and might even help her reclaim everything that should have comforted her.

Drip drip, drip drip.

At that moment, Li Feng’s phone on the table outside the bathtub rang with a series of urgent beeps. Li Feng turned around, deflecting Sofia’s wandering hand as he picked up the phone.

Opening a surveillance app on his phone, Li Feng let out a scornful laugh.

A second later, Li Feng stood up from the bathtub.

He grabbed a towel, wrapped it around his waist, walked to the bathroom door, and pulled it open, seeing the somewhat flustered Bai Yuting standing outside.

"Is something wrong?"

Bai Yuting’s insides were a mess, and she blurted out in panic, "No, nothing, I just brought you a set of clothes."

Li Feng looked at Bai Yuting, "Oh, where are the clothes?"

Bai Yuting almost wanted to cry but had no tears, as Li Feng, with a teasing glance at Bai Yuting who apparently ran to eavesdrop, went straight into the bedroom, threw off the towel, and quickly got dressed in a casual outfit, not bothering with a suit or leather shoes since he wasn’t going out.

"I’ll be out for a bit."

Having spoken, Li Feng left immediately, and Bai Yuting, watching his disappearing figure, patted her chest, exhaling.

"Sister Bai, do you also want to give the master a back rub?"

Sofia, soaked to the skin, stood at the bathroom door, eyes narrowed, and smiling as she looked at the unnerved Bai Yuting.

"I don’t want to, you better change quickly to avoid catching cold."

On the eighteenth floor of the apartment building, a young man with a master key searched up and down in front of a door, while his companions urged him impatiently from behind.

"What’s the rush, if you’re so impatient, you try."

The locksmith shot back and fidgeted for another dozen seconds before stopping his actions as he managed to open the locked door.

The people in the hallway exchanged glances, and the leader in a hushed voice commanded, "When you get inside, go for him if you see anyone."

"Got it."

The others nodded; in their line of work, excessive chatter was a surefire way to get caught – lessons learned from countless movies and TV shows.

"go, go, go."

The group rushed into the now gaping door, through the foyer, and into the living room, which was devoid of any human presence.

"Bedroom, bathroom, search!"

The sizeable apartment spanned over two hundred square meters and was naturally divided into many functional areas—a bit excessive for one person to live in.

"Damn, this guy is loaded to live in such a large mansion."

"Boss, should we look for a safe? A thief never leaves empty-handed."

"Yeah, you go search for it."

"There’s no one in the bedroom."

"Guest room is empty too."

"Nothing in the cloakroom either."

"Did you search thoroughly? Under beds and in cupboards—he could have hidden when he heard us coming."

"We’ve searched everything; we haven’t even spared a mosquito."

"Our guy saw him enter the apartment, the doorman confirmed it, we’ve checked the elevator surveillance, and the property’s register, he lives here so there can’t be any mistake."

The man in charge darkened his face – he wasn’t stupid to bring people over without good reason, but where was the target?

"Could he have escaped outside?"

"Fuck, we’re on the eighteenth floor."

"So what about the eighteenth floor? There are those air-conditioning platforms outside."

"Go check."

The leader’s eyes lit up – that was indeed a possibility, so he ordered a thorough search of every window.

"Damn it, let’s see where you can hide now."

Li Feng walked into the foyer and watched the intruders stir as they searched for someone. He reached out and tapped the shoulder of a young man at the edge.

"Buddy, are you looking for someone?"

"Yeah, some bastard."

The young man with an accent turned and looked at Li Feng with a puzzled expression, sizing him up. Li Feng’s attire was not like theirs – a loose T-shirt, boxer shorts, and flip-flops, which indicated he was not one of them.

"Ah, I’m the neighbor next door."

"Neighbor?"

Looking at Li Feng, the young man exclaimed, "You’ve got some balls."

"That’s right, watching a show isn’t scary no matter how big it gets, right? So, have you found that bastard?"

Rolling his eyes, the young man wondered what kind of person would say such a thing. As he grumbled internally and was about to tell Li Feng to bugger off, his thoughts suddenly froze.

"Holy shit, you’re the bastard we’re after."
